Damn… I just bought and changed with same oil but paid much higher price from Autoban… was more than 70 dollars…

    • Username checks out…

Buy another bottle from Repco and bring it back to Autobarn with the receipt for a refund?

      • They need to survive…together…

        • Use the $30 or so saving you get from the refund to buy something else at Autobarn?

  • Thanks OP! Very good price was meaning to pick some up for my next oil change.

They make great oils, would recommend.

Sparesbox is an absolute joke, avoid.

Couldn't agree more, waited for almost 2 weeks with no dispatch notification for an order I placed, Emailed them and received a response a couple of days later to tell me they didn't have stock on the item I purchased. Mind you they were still advertising the item as in stock when and after I placed my order.

        • Sparesbox and Repco are the same company.
          GPC Asia Pacific

        • For online only, they do suck at the benefits of online. Now I know its Repco, I understand the reason … makes them giggle

Ive had an order sit, hundreds of dollars in parts, because one insignificant (could of got anywhere for like $1 more I just ordered it all together) part was not in stock. They ended up sending it in two posts after weeks of waiting patiently…ish.

They also seem to post on Thursdays only… at least thats been my experience.

          • @Tuba: I ordered some 2" lifted Bilstien shocks, and King Springs for a Toyota Landcruiser. What arrived after weeks of waiting was 4 disc brake rotors for a Ford Laser. I had to send them back, wait for them to inspect them, and for them to respost what i actually ordered when they were already late by the time i got the rotors.

            • @LowRange: Thats pretty bad… did you see the funny side at the time?

              But you can laugh now?

              • @Tuba: At the time i definitely didn't see the funny side, i needed to get them and fit them before a snow trip and ordered them with tons of time. I got them on to the car i think 48 hours before leaving with no chance to get a wheel alignment done.

I can definitely see the funny side now though lol.

      • Haven't gotten much off them lately but a couple of years ago I couldn't find anyone cheaper to buy my oil filters.
I'm use to slow mail and was buying a years supply at once so was always happy when it arrived.

      • Had no issues ordering from Sparebox.. fast postage and low prices

  • That is awesome OP. Thank you! Coming up to service time on the cars and been waiting for
Months for this to come down significantly in price

  • Can I use this instead of 5w30 that I've been using since new? Strangely penrite app recommend 0w20 for my car.

    • If you put in your rego/car model it should tell you if it's compatible with your car or not

    • May also be used where SAE 5w-30 & 10w-30 oils are recommended.

    • 5w30 is usually cheaper and more mass produced than this

so I would go with 5w30 because it is cheaper, thinner and as you said compatible with your car

0w20 is like the go to all rounder, if the car can take it all the oil manufacturers will make it the first preference

    • +1

ALWAYS follow the car manufacturer specs for oil weight and API grade. It will usually give you a range of viscosities depending on the climate.

In Australia thinner 0w10-20 are generally for modern fuel efficient engines specifically designed for it.

0w20 might show up on oil finder apps as compatible but only if you use it in sub zero climates, again check the manual!

  • That’s pretty decent. Repco is not standing up to their name of Rip Every Poor C**t Off.

    • I don't think it's all that cheap compared to the usual 5w30 deals but then again I have no idea if this is the usual "discounted price" for 5w40

5w30 is like $20-$25 on special for 5L

  • Anyone a frequent buyer of 10w40 10 tenths? What’s a good sale price?

    • +1

Yes - Pre-COVID used to pick it up for $45 on sale. I haven't actually bought any at the new prices (since I hoarded a fair bit of it) but I reckon a good price would be $60 now.
Last I checked the RRP was close to $100!

      • Then I shall wait! Thanks
