How much without the CO2 Offset Label?

    • With the price of carbon credits since the Libs deliberately crashed the market, probably about 45c less.

  • I'm really getting confused with these nonstop lenovo & dell deals! Is this a good/medium/basic one?

    • +1

Depends on your needs. It's a good deal if you need an:

      1. AMD Ryzen 6000 CPU with better battery life and integrated graphics performance than any current Intel 12th gen mobile CPU.

      2. 2.8K 90HZ OLED touch screen

      3. USB 4

      • I own a surface laptop 3 now with 8/128GB. Got it on sale 1200.

I want sth with bigger ssd. Touch. Oled sounds good from ppl here.
I will do some light photoshop/lr, but not really serious.

Want faster obs, since it's a few yrs old now. SL3 was an i5. Seems double fast
        https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-6600U-vs-In…
I have no idea what USB 4 is!

Lenovo has always been confusing with model names. It's hard to search comparisons.

I don't need a replacement /right now/ but whenever a deal comes up from now to next Jan I guess.
I saw how on other deals, ppl talked about bad screens, plastic bodies. This one seems to fix all those?
        Jump on this, or wait?

  • Can anyone explain the differences between the yoga 7, 7i, slim, slim pro, i slim, i pro, not slim (fat?) and all the combinations?
I'm trying to see reviews and I dun even know which is what.

    • +4

My interpretation for the current line-up:

      • Yoga = Mid-to-upper-end 2-in-1, pen, touchscreen, tent mode. Also indicates a 2-in-1 variant of another product e.g. Thinkpad Yoga.
      • Yoga Slim = Not Yoga, instead a thin and light that's built too well for Ideapad, but won't fit in the Legion or Think product lines.
        +Pro = Has a dedicated GPU.

      For both:
+i = Intel Inside where an AMD version of the same model exists (subjectively when AMD is preferred, it was the other way around not too long ago).

The numbers are family specific but typically refer to the physical base i.e. Yoga 7 is 14", Yoga 6 13" etc and generation refers to the hardware inside hence the current deal being called Yoga 7 gen 7. You'll need to look for reviews of specific models for more detail or discrepancies.

thanks. that is one confusing naming scheme.

Will this screen protector work? https://amzn.asia/d/8Eeg91D
Seen the notebookcheck review above stating that the screen is reflective under sunlight.

Shipping time has just updated to September 20 (3 weeks). Not too shabby!

Slightly concerned about the text clarity of the OLED display, but as a 1 year user for the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 11 with a delta subpixel array, I do not mind the slight fuzzyness that can only be noticed up close.

    • Cool! Much better than the initial expected date of late October. As for concerns, my main one is with the reported PWM screen flickering … but I still think the pros outweigh the cons.

  • Guys does usb 4 mean this could be used with external gpu? im thinking this is the perfect laptop for me , 6800hs w 680m and when i limit the cpu to 50% perrf i could get stleast 10 hrs video watching or web browsing or doing office work then get home plug it in n game w igpu or egpu

    • According to this post (and if I'm reading it correctly), it should

fighting between this (Ryzen 7) and a Macbook pro 14… On this side its got OLED, touchscreen and much cheaper ($1800 vs $2650), but the pro has a much better surface (better keyboard and general appearance), and won’t take 8 weeks to arrive!

Will probably go with the Yoga.

    • Its good if you dont mind lesser speakers and display (still pretty good)

Price got reduced to $1466.10 for 6600u model, $1691.10 for 6800u

      Thank you!

I called them to get refunded the difference.

      • i wonder if it affects your cashback tho. I hope not I am a bit worried

        • isn't cashback is disallowed on the education store?

          • +2

@sonovolantis: oh i normally do a trick where I get them to match the edu store (give the cart id to lenovo rep) then they quote you and you convert it to order.

That way you can get cashback.

edu store not meant to give cashback correct

            • @AussieMark: So if i wanted to do this do I
              1. Save my cart on the edu store
              2. Contact lenovo rep through chat (?)
              3. Ask for a quote with cart id
              4. get quote and then convert it to an order
              5. purchase order

              correct?

              • +2

@sonovolantis: Yes but they may take a few minutes or sometimes longer to get approval

Also i normally use Lenovo pro business store. Cash rewards works for that but the normal store should work just as well

If they say no I just find another rep. And if I get a good one I remember their email

                • @AussieMark: Is the quote link supposed to direct to the normal/business store or the education store?

                  • +1

@sonovolantis: You need to tell them which store you want the quote for

Sometimes they make a mistake 😂😂.

Tell them normal store or LenovoPro

                    • @AussieMark: Got it done after 3 tries 😅
                      many thanks mate!

                      • +2

@sonovolantis: haha yeah if you find a decent rep save their email and member id.

Some of them are useless but I found one good one - Sandy

Always quotes for me without hassle and just gets their manager's approval.

Most of the quotes they send to the wrong store …. ie you ask for LenovoPro and they send you another quote for the education store

                      • +1

@sonovolantis: makes a huge difference if you are about to drop 2000-5000 and its 15% cashback

                        • +1

@AussieMark: Did they ever cancel the cashback because it is a custom quote order? Asking because: "and/or any negotiated offers (phone/email/chat) are ineligible for cashback".

    • Damn, when I look at it side by side like that after a month, I regret getting the 6800u upgrade. Estimated ship date is the 28th but I'm not sure if cancelling and reordering would be a good idea if that would cause it to get delayed another month.

      • Just ask them to refund the $100

    • A bit late on replying to this, but its showing at $1629 for me today (5/10) … it says 30% discount off $2349 (save $720). The "SMARTER10" coupon is no longer valid too.

  • Anyone else who received it could let me know if their bottom plate flexes and rattles when you touch/tap it? A little annoying and just wondering if it's like that or I just have a badly assembled one.

    • Mine says ships from China tomorrow so will let you know..been waiting like a month

    • No rattling on mine, there's actually quite a large thermal pad that sits between the SSD and bottom plate which should act as a shock absorber of sorts. Only thing I can think of that could rattle is if the steel 2280 extender on the SSD (which is itself 2242) somehow got detached.

    • No rattle here but the mouse button sounds different to what I'm use to haha but I'm using a wireless mouse most of the time so not fussed

  • Finally, the order was shipped today, with an estimate delivery on the 4/10.

Also called Lenovo sales to get a price difference refund. Now to wait..

    • I haven't been charged yet so might be hard to refund $100

Normally get charged a few days after shipping
