[eBay Plus] 0% Variable Fees on 5 Sales by Eligible Sellers @ eBay (Activation Required)

3310

It's back! 0% Variable Fees on 5 Sales from 30 August to 30 September.
Check your inbox or click the "Accept Offer" link in the T&Cs page to see if you qualify. Activation is open now.

The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers to 0% variable fees, which is a component of Final Value Fees (as defined on eBay.com.au), on 5 sales during the Promotion Period on Eligible Listings.

“Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:

  • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
  • in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
  • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).

The variable fees will be discounted directly from the eBay seller fees applicable to the Eligible Listings when they are sold.
This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period.
eBay reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up OP! Sold my brand new Macbook Pro last year when I realised I didn't really want it.

  • +8

"You've accepted the offer "Pay $0 Variable Fees on 5 new sales, thanks to eBay Plus.""

Thanks OP! Now I can sell my old MacBook Pro after I realise I don't need it anymore!

  • +4

    You are a legend.
Honestly I was just thinking to myself I haven’t seen one of these deals in like 3 months… I’d given up hope.

  • "0% variable fees, which is a component of Final Value Fees"

So what other fees are there to pay?

    • +2

$0.30 fixed order fee is the only thing you need to pay. Or other optional listing fees for subtitles and such.

      • If I sell a mobile phone for $1000 then I will pay only 30 cents to eBay after selling. Is that correct?

    • +1

I think there is a 30 cents selling fee once sold.

  • +1

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you.

    :(

    • Do you have eBay Plus?

    • Tomorrow?

    • See ChiMot's comment below, worked for me

    • didn't think it would work for me either
but you can try this within the terms and conditions click the blue & underlined “Accept offer”

  • +4

oh wow. i dont think i got the email but i just follow the link posted and click the accept here and foila i got it

    • +1

Nope, didn’t work for me. No email or message in my Seller’s dashboard, either. I wonder if it’s activity-based and they’re trying to entice sellers who haven’t sold much lately? I’ve sold a steady stream of low-cost items recently so I’d appear as reasonably active in their metrics.

      • I wonder if it’s activity-based and they’re trying to entice sellers who haven’t sold much lately?

I've sold 11 things in the past 1.5 months since I started selling, a few high-value phones, and I'm eligible.

        • I've waited all day and still no email or seller notification. I guess I'm not one of the lucky people.

          • @Chazzozz: No use waiting for anything. Just check on the RSVP link. Unlikely the offer will change.

            • @Techie4066: Yep, tried that twice and got the ‘you are not eligible’ message. I’m not a Plus member, so that may be the impetus I need to finally sign up.

              • @Chazzozz: Well, yes, the deal does say eBay Plus in the title. Clearly no non-member will get it. I subscribed essentially free with a $50 sign-up voucher, and some got additional vouchers.

          • +1

@Chazzozz: Are you a plus member? Ive sold hundreds of things the past year as a non member and wasnt eligible. Signed up for plus today and became eligible instantly

  • -5

Time to offload the remaining few of my ex-mined GPUs, each will sell $500-$1000 so these will save me hundreds of dollars in fees.

  • +1

Its not tomorrow, it starts when you accept and ends 30/9.

    • +4

Yeah nah if you look into the T&Cs:

      When does the promotion run?

The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEST) on 30 August 2022 to 23:59 (AEST) on 30 September 2022 (“Promotion Period”).

      I wouldn't risk it

    • +2

You could be right, but knowing how buggy eBay is, I am going by the official T&Cs dates/times to be safe in case one have to argue with eBay down the track.

  • +1

Got it for all three accounts. Thanks OP

  • The best deal

  • +11

Be careful to get screen shots that show you are eligible for the promotion.
Ebay often charges you fees anyway and then you have to prove that they offered you a promotion.
I sold a couple of thousand dollars worth of digital radios using these promos and it took me months and many chat sessions to get them to refund the fees.
They then blocked my account from selling despite having 100% feedback.

    • That doesn't sound like good trade practice or customer support. Also questionable that they have quietly stopped issuing the monthly $5 coupons that they are meant to for plus members. Again, months of following this up and they just say yes it should be issued but they are escalating the query. There's rumour of some Swiss actuary, a tricky mathematician to work out precisely how to rip people off enough with promises that sound good, just to make the bottom line.

  • Soon it'll be: eBay Plus - 0% off select items.

  • Offer accepted..
Cheers have some Makita power tools to offload.. 👍👍

  • Thanks OP!

Now shows up in my selling dashboard:

    Starts 29 Aug
    Ends 30 Sep

  • +2

Direct link to try (after you login to feeBay): https://www.rsvp.ebay.com.au/rsvp/signup/1007881/v4VX0Rop1Vo
    Hope you are "targeted".

    • +1

      Thanks! Worked for me.

I didn’t have eBay plus active, but signed up and the above link worked (it doesn’t work if you don’t have eBay plus).

      • +1

Did the same and it worked too!

  • +1

    Got it, thanks OP

  • Can anybody please tell me how/where I see this offer after I have accepted it?

I've screenshotted the acceptance, but ebay drives me batty trying to find these things from my account.

    • +2

It will be here under "Promotional offers".

      • Thank you doweyy. I've never been to that page - wouldn't know how/where/why to visit.

I thought there might be a simple "go to this menu, click on blah". It just seems to me like ebay hides your offers/vouchers etc to their benefit.

Edit: my bad. I realise once I entered this 'seller hub' for the first time, it became a nice clean interface (including promo offers, which showed this already accepted). I'm off to eat my prunes like the grumpy bugger I am

    • +3

Activity, expand Selling, then click on Overview.

Or for me, this is the direct link: https://www.ebay.com.au/mys/overview

You should see it as one of the Selling promotions.

  • +3

Has anyone tried signing up to Ebay plus right now, does it make you eligible for the promotion? Thanks.

    • +7

Ok guys, I don't have ebay plus and when I clicked on the direct link shared above, I am not eligible. I signed up one month for $4.99 and clicked on the same link again and got accepted.

      Hope it helps.

      • Thanks so much!

  • +2

Hell yeah! Thanks OP!! I was just about to list some items!

  • It's about bloody time!

  • How is selling on ebay nowadays? I haven't sold anything on ebay for years, is it still a terrible experience? Especially the low ballers with their ridiculous demands?

    • Never sell anything before, also want to know.

    • +3

Gumtree is filled with lowballers and scammers. eBay is pretty good. Occasionally get messaged asking for a certain price but it's usually not ridiculous.

      • I think asking for a lower price is ok, nothing wrong with that.

My experience with some buyers (last time i sold several things), they'd ask if i'd accept $20 for a new and sealed item i was selling for $75 & free express post (RRP was over $100).

        • It might depend on what you're selling. I sometimes sell video games or electronics. Very rarely get time wasters on eBay. Gumtree I find quite often, especially with electronics

          • @FireRunner: OK, want to sell my old 34" LG FHD monitor after I bought the Dell 32" 4k, don't really know how much I can sell it for, is pick up only OK? Do I need to show the monitor is working when pick up? Normally how buyer pay for it?

            • @superforever: Look at other active listings and sold items to gauge value of your monitor. Look at similarly spec’d monitor not just your specific model to get a better understanding of its value.
You can do pickup only but it limits number of potential buyers.
I would like to see it working if I was picking up in person but it’s not strictly necessary. You could show pictures of it working in the listing but buyer might request to see it working.
eBay has a payment management system. EBay will take payment from buyer and deposit it into your bank account a couple of days later.

              • @FireRunner:

EBay will take payment from buyer and deposit it into your bank account

Thanks, so eBay will information me after the buyer paid and I can let the buyer pick it up?

    • +1

Still the best place to sell things.

    • +2

If you sell at fixed price you can set a minimum offer amount. Everyone who try offer less than the amount you set will be automatically rejected.

      • -1

Yes, I turn offers off altogether and ignore any that come by message… but most people get the hint.

    • +2

Try to use tracked post as I recently had an experience where the buyer claimed they didn't receive the item and given I didn't have any tracking code, of course they sided with the buyer.

In this case, I provided everything I could - photo of the small packaging, video of me putting into aus post box. The buyer even showed signs they were going to scam such as canceling after item posted with unreasonable excuses but it's posted so couldn't do anything.

      • +2

Yeh absolutely the best advice. Anything of any sort of value I include the cost of postage+tracking+insurance for the potential sale amount in the listing

  • +2

    Thanks OP, amazing timing!

  • +2

Legend! I was literally searching for an eBay sales offer 2 hours ago and found nothing 🙌

  • +1

    Thank you!!!

  • +3

Nice one OP. I had nearly given up bothering selling anything on eBay

    • +2

      Literally this haiyaaaa

  • +1

Anyone know if I sign up to ebay plus I'll be able to accept the offer?

    • Keen to know this too

      • i did it last night and it worked. assuming the deal hasnt expired you're good to go

  • +3

Huge offer, makes eBay plus worth it alone

  • +1

Hooray!! Last month's promotion with one listing was so stingy.

Note that the fee may still be charged and you might have to contact support, or I've read that it takes a couple months to apply.

  • I love eBay Plus, for deals like this.
But at the same time I hate that eBay charge about 11-13% for selling an item on eBay.

  • +2

damn it just sold a bunch of stuff paying nearly $100 in fees :(

    oh wait

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you.

  • Deal started from time of accepting offer for me.

    • +1

Id wait until the official start time before listing. You might get burned otherwise

      • +2

No thanks, I've screenshotted the offer with the start time

        • +2

Screenshot will mean you'll eventually be covered, but you may be ready to experience eBay Support hell to achieve that

        • It’s like a few hours wait lol.
But if you’re game then go for it

  • Does this apply to setting fixed priced items?

    • +1

Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:
      newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; …

      • Cool, so fixed price is ok

  • Sweet! Just cancelled my Samsung Fold 3 listing that I put up earlier today. Will relist tomorrow and save myself about $500 in fees

  • +1

    Thanks OP! Works for me…

  • Do you still pay $1 insertion fee? This is coming up for me, I haven't sold anything on Ebay before. Thanks.

    • +1

Only 30 cents fee after you sell.

  • 0% final value fees are probably the only times I bother selling on eBay these days.

If I sell an item as "no returns accepted", maybe 1/10 sales would be someone who abuses the money back guarantee to say it's not as described when its apparent to anyone who is not an eBay support employee, is obviously buyers remorse. Then I lose money for two way postage, money back guarantee abusers never lose a thing.

If I sell an item with 30 day returns, I've had a buyer recently request a return which I approved on the same day. Then she doesn't return it for a week, and doesn't send the original amount of items at first either. Before I get any the items back, which is trackable for her since its AusPost returns, she files a dispute against me for not refunding - which removes my ability to refund her while eBay puts the case on hold until I receive all the items back, then they'll decide. I try to do the nice thing & ask eBay to refund her now instead of waiting for one remaining item, and eBay puts a strike against my account for them making a resolution in a dispute when the rep I talked to assured they would not do, since I asked them to refund her. Classic.

It's not like I sell dodgy items either, 100% rating after hundreds of sales on both eBay & FB Marketplace. FB Marketplace is my go to for the popular items, but niche items still do better on eBay unfortunately.

  • +1

Posted something for sale on eBay after accepting offer. The promotion still says '5 remaining' getting anxious might be charged fees as it doesn't feel like it has registered the promotion.

    • Officially only starts at 12am

    • +6

The counter only goes down after you sell.

      • Thank you for this. Sold heaps of items under these promotion last year and this was not the case

        • +1

They changed how these work a while back. There are pros and cons, personally I quite like the new system since I sell things slowly.

  • No need to wait till tomorrow to list. My eBay app says 29aug-30sep after redeeming. The counter did not go down after listing but assuming this is expected till it sells.

  • I have just joined but still no promo coming up…

  • i already have 4 listings up from last month, can i revise it or delete it and put up new one's, to use this offer ???
    any suggestions ??

    • delete them, put up new listing tomorrow.
