  • This is literally the same model as your first post.

    • +2

Have been trying to figure out how to mod that post out. No remove/delete button available for me.

      • Fair enough. Not your if you can cull your post like you can with comments.

I wasn’t sure if I was missing something. Lol.

    • Different buying platforms, even though it's the same seller
The other post is via Amazon and slightly more expensive

      • Yeah, but I agree with tomsco. No point in having two sellers with one having a worse price.

    • Report your own deal, it should unpublished

  • Pretty sure the G29 is for PS3/4.

G920 is for Xbox and PC.

    • +4

No, you can use G29 for PC.

      Black Xbox Series X|S /Xbox One/PC: 941-000121
      Black PS5 / PS4 / PC: 941-000110

You’re better for with G29 or G923 now. G920 is inferior.

      • Can you share the link for the PS5 model?

        • +1

941-000110 is the posted model. This is an OG wheel and will most likely keep selling for another five years.

      • Cool thx!

      • +1

You can, and the G920/923 will show correct controller buttons on the Windows. OTOH, annoyingly some titles at least (e.g. FH4) simply report Button 1, 2, etc for the G29 on Windows (works, but you need a mental map of the buttons to know which one to press).

    • Can confirm the G29 works for PC and PS5 too.

    • +1

You can use both for PC.

  • -4

    No belt drive. Nah.

  • +4

Lowest price deal so far for the Logitech Racing wheel.

Been under $299 several times but yes not recently. Even for under $200. Crazy how old this thing is since that deal was in 2016.

I recommend looking on Facebook Marketplace. Many get it and use it once then collects dust. Can find a good deal on like new that way along with a stand.

    • +1

Can confirm, just sold mine on marketplace for $275 (Inc gear shifter).. used only a handful of times in the last 3 years

      • Yes but that isnt about the product, its about you dont like playing with a FF wheel.

    • You think the G29 is old, afaik based on older hardware just refined that has been around for a looong time

  • -2

get one off market place for 150-200$. Theres a reason theres so many of thesea round, there entry level and shit and the first opportunity people instantly upgrade

    • +8

I think calling it shit is a bit harsh, it’s a good product for someone that doesn’t want to get totally serious about a racing sim.

  • Is there a new model coming out?

    • +3

Is already out the 923 but very minor improvement not worth the price increase.

  • +6

Will be most expensive box you ever buy.
Got mine for $299 last year, used it a couple of times and hasn't been out of the box since.

    • +1

      Tell that to her…
      https://therichtimes.com/the-185000-cardboard-box/

But I am with you, only used mine 3 times or so and been put back in the box for over 2 years now…

    • +4

just because you lack dedication doesn't mean others will ;)

my G27 spent a fair bit of time in a box but it also had 3 solid years of use before i upgraded, i know plenty of people running G27/G29s who have been happily doing so for many years

  • +5

I’ve got this. I use it for GT7 on the PS5. It’s great.

  • +3

Had a couple of Logitechs over the years, G27 and G29. Dabbled into a belt driven system, Fanatec CSL and that opened up my perception of proper feedback. It’s night and day.

Currently moved from the Fanatec CSL to a Direct Drive Fanatec DD Pro.

    • What’s your full setup configuration? Cheers!

      CSL Wheel plus …?

      • +2

For the CSL, I had these:
CSL elite wheel base PC, PS4/5 compatible
        F1 v2 Clubsport steering
        CSL Elite pedal
        Next Level Racing
        Play Seat Challenge seat

        Current setup
DD Pro 8Nm wheel base (PS4/5, PC & Xbox)
        RS Clubsport steering wheel
        Mclaren v2 steering wheel
Clubsport v2 pedals with brake performance kit
Next Level Racing v2 wheel stand

        • +1

          Cheers!!

  • +1

How annoying is this to setup and take down everytime if you don't have a dedicated rig for it?

    • +1

I get a little annoyed just trying to change my audio between setups. Some games like Project Cars 2 seem to forget all the settings between sessions (albeit months and months go by between sessions). I can't imagine having to setup everything then take it all down every time I play. Maybe that's just me.

    • +2

lucky for you, this is also on the main page:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/721391

      :D

      • im in danger

    • I found it super annoying. Bought a stand off eBay and the whole set up process was enough to make me throw in the towel and sell.

    • Seriously annoying, I’m probably going to sell mine I just don’t use it enough to justify keeping it.

    • +1

Get a wheel stand, a cheap one will do cos the force feedback on the Logitech is not massive.

    • if you have space on your desk, it's not the worst thing to set up. it's definitely inconvenient but it only takes a few minutes

now, if you have to pull out a race seat and set that up - different story. but also a lot more fun to play on

  • +2

Buy second hand if u can, lots on marketplace. Less e-waste. Got my g923 for $250

    • +2

I've just had a look and people are asking more than $299 used!

  • +4

Owned the DFGT and G920 before upgrading to a fanatec CSL elite (found it for $300 used on ebay). Compared to the fanatec, logitech wheels feel like cheap plastic toys. If you're serious dropping a few hundred bucks on a sim-racing setup, look on the used market for a belt-drive (Fanatec or Thrustmaster) - no regrets.

    • +1

the fanatec gear is significantly more expensive, so yeah you'd hope they feel better than the cheap logitech stuff.

the logitech stuff may be cheap and feel a bit plasticy at times but it's exactly what you (don't) pay for. plus they're reliable and they work with everything.

      • I’ve been using Logitech wheels for more than 10 years, not really a racing sim buff tho. I pull the wheel out occasionally when someone’s visiting or when there’s a new GT game.

However, a good belt driven system changed my perspective of racing sim. It gave a more smoother driving experience, solid feedback and not making me feel like I’m gonna break the unit because of the feedback.

Logitech’s gear system made me hated the force feedback that I’d turn it down or disable it.

  • I know there is a big price jump between this and the Thrustmaster TX leather edition, but can anyone help me out? can currently get the Leather edition for $645 posted (Brand New). Anyone know if there is a huge difference between the two? I can't believe how well Thrustmaster has held its value on products that have been around for years. Also anyone know id there is a difference between this and the original 458 Italia versions apart from the wheel?

  • I've got a G920 and a DriveHub, can use it on Xbox, PC and PS4/5, it works great

Paid $271 for the G920 from Harvey Norman a few years ago and it came with Forza 7 that had just been releasd.

  • +1

If you are using one of these steering wheels or even a better one, is it best to use a racing cockpit or something like that to hold it down and work good?

If so, what is cockpit everyone recommends

    • +1

I’d highly recommend a wheel stand that you could wheel away when not in use. These can just pull under your work desk or in front of your tv easily. My recommendation for a wheel stand is the Next Level Racing v2 wheel stand.

Alternatively, a foldable chair set up is excellent too.
      1) Playseat Challenge
      2) Next Level Racing GT Lite

        • +2

Yeap! You can lock office chair castors on the tray. Super useful!

I have installed 4 rollers on the stand which helps me to wheel it away easily

        • +1. Wheel was a pain the backside until I got this. Wheel cradle is bloody nice.

Just ordered some profile so I can also use the stand for joystick mounting as well.

    • Look at GT Omega stuff for complete rigs. Very affordable and great value.

TrakRacer 8020 aluminium profile is very nice but they’re not cheap.

    • +1

I got one of these 5 years ago https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282542860355
I paid a lot more than that for it as well. It was $100 more from the same seller!
Nothing fancy, but it does the job

  • +2

Use the G27 with DriveHub for everything, no need to upgrade

    • how well does DriveHub work with any consoles?
is there different model of drivehub that works with ps5/xbox series X?

also the price is quite expensive from what I googled..
do you know where to get it cheaply?

      • No, I got it cheap from Amazon. But the prices have increased dramatically. Works well on the PS5, but you need a third party controller (HORI PS4 gamepad) to bypass a check. After that, you're golden.

  • Better off getting a second hand T300 or T500

  • Are these actually fun / usable? I'm tempted to get one for my PS3 and maybe on emulators.

The only racing wheel I've had was this one: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/6YAAAOSwWZVdo6hU/s-l640.jpg for gamecube.
And it was absolutely useless. Seemed to weigh about 200g, and when you tried to turn it, the entire device would rotate.

If I buy this, do I just plonk it on top of my desk and plug it in (and pedals on the floor), and it'll work nicely?

    • If I buy this, do I just plonk it on top of my desk and plug it in (and pedals on the floor), and it'll work nicely?

No you just plonk it on your head and use your mind to control it
