Any recommendations on games or where to get games for an android tablet

    • +5

Google Play Store has some bangers on it, definitely check that one!

      • Well people buy the controllers for a reason and the free games listed in the playstore are garbage.

        • +2

I mean, there's thousands upon thousands of games on there. Surely there must be something fun.

But (profanity) it, I'll bite. You specifically want some free games with controller support? Modern Combat 5 is still kicking, great little Modern Warfare clone. Dead Trigger (and it's sequel to a lesser extent) were (profanity) excellent zombie FPS games back when I had an Xperia Play. Can't go wrong with a bit of Asphalt: whatever the current iteration is called edition either.

Realistically though, just get an emulator and play better console games? AetherSX2 is great.

There are also some pretty good emulators out there as well. But you'll need to map all the console's controls to your controller. It's not plug and play.

Thanks any recomendations for me to research

        • I've only ever emulated 1 Wii game on my tablet. I used Dolphin, and it was specifically for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, so I can vouch for the playability. It stutters in the menu sometimes, but otherwise plays just fine.

More suggestions here I guess: https://www.androidpolice.com/best-emulators-android/

Best to try and see what suits you best.

          • @BadGiraffe: That game stutters on my series x, menu and gameplay

            • @Bretttick: You can emulate Wii games on the Xbox? That's something I didn't know… like… what emulators can you download… and where from? Is it from a default Xbox store?

Sorry… I don't have an XBox, but this is intruiging. Emulating hardware that can generate 3D is hard, so I was surprised there was minimal stuttering on my Android tablet.

There are also games on the Internet Archive site, and I've heard XBox have a browser, so that could also be an option. I should try that on my PS.

    • The andoird epic games store has been giving away some good ones.

I recommend the GameSir T4 Nova Lite for $28 https://www.umart.com.au/product/gamesir-t4-nova-lite-multi-…

    Approx $25 from AliExpress? https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007506805284.html

Or have I messed up the models? I hate how confusing their naming versions are

  • Does it include a 4hz dongle? Internet strangers were telling me that my current 8bitdo pro that connects via Bluetooth is inferior to using dedicated dongle. Help me understand if this of would be better

    • +2

Bluetooth connection has more latency than the 2.4GHz dongle. However, the Pro's bluetooth will connect to the Switch, PC, Android, IOS and Tesla.

      • Ah did not spot it includes a dongle. I use Apollo on pc and moonlight on android device on tv, assume Bluetooth to android might actually fair better. Thanks

  • So this will work on any macbook too?

  • Is this the same one on Ali Express for ~$20 USD?

  • I dont like the D-pad as much on this model as their older models. It is a little squishier. Also, very occasionally, the middle button (the one that would bring up the xbox menu in windows) will fire without me pushing it. Could be a defective model, not sure if anyone else has experienced this.

    • 8BitDo's QC has always been pretty poor, defects are a widespread issue. I have their BT Ultimate and had to return two controllers before I got one which worked, but it's the best third-party controller I've ever owned and for a great price.

  • Is this an upgrade over the OG 8BitDo Pro 2 controller? Mine was working great for so long, but within the last couple months, the stick drift is just really bad. Tried cleaning, lubing up, etc to no avail :(

    • Not exactly an upgrade. It goes to the asymetrical joystick layout, and I find if playing anything exciting I push too hard on the joystick and it pops off! Quite inconvenient.
Doesnt happen all the time, but often. My pro 2 controllers both work fine after two years.
