  • How’s the battery health on these?

    • Pretty good for business uses but not for playing games.

    • We use these in my company and they tend to swell sometimes, my personal one failed very early and had to replace.
new batteries are easily obtainable and quite easy to replace although you do have to crack the case open.

  • Original reviews are pretty positive and specs, price seem to tick all the boxes for me, anyone got any experience or feedback on these laptops?

I have this and the thinkpad T480. It is well built and has a great keyboard. Screen and speakers are much better. It is smaller than the T480 and has smaller bezels (same screen size of 14"). i7 won't perform as good due to smaller fan and heatsink. No thinkshutter like thinkpads and the touchpad doesn't click (have to use buttons or tapping). This one doesn't have trackpoint (mine does). Based on the service tag it seems to have a fingerprint reader (mine doesn't) and a NVMe SSD (mine has SATA).

  • Pretty good. Right?

  • Does it really have WWAN option installed? Got a service tag to check?

    • +1

Here one of the model which I've been able to pull the service tag from. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/serv…

It does have WWAN from what the service tag says. As well as basic support till 2024.

      • I think it has the antenna, but not the card.
        From the as-built:
        391-BDLP : 14" FHD WVA (1920 x 1080) Embe dded Touch Anti-Glare, Camera & Microphone, WLAN/WWAN capabl e
556-BBCD : No Mobile Broadband Card

        Thanks for being responsive though.

  • Thanks OP, just realised promo code only for first 15 users so got one.

  • Was cheaper the other day:

      They have different CPU.

      • Ahh your right. The i5 got as low as $419 on ebay from that seller, so is the CPU worth $130?

        • 1.7GHz on the i5 vs 3.9GHz on the i7. You decide.

          • +1

@xoom: that's on paper. in reality i7 sku performed maybe 10% better, if that

this is not the "superfast time machine" kind of design, these machines are tuned to be "get things done for hours on end, without failure and without getting warm", and i5 variant was slightly better at that. I mean, i7 also ran well, but a bit warmer.

so no real life difference between i5 and i7 sku for this model

      • Also no touch screen.

  • You are reading wrong.

15 of these at this price is not a sufficient quantity for this post. should be put in the fourms as far as I understand OzBargin rules.

    • I think 10 is the minimum quantity to post a deal

      • +2

Yes it is, very baity with a quantity that low. Sold out already, yet free advertising for the full price after it's sold through.

  • +1

How does that compare to Inspiron, in that price you could get a refurbished one from outlet but much newer processor. Though won't have touch screen n 16GB RAM and latitudes are built solid for sure.

    • +2

Fair question but you're comparing apples and oranges.

The Latitude 7420 on the outlet store goes for $1189 with i5 processor, half the ram (soldered, not upgradeable) and half the storage.

That's a much more direct comparison.

By refurbished, does that mean these have a new battery?

  • I wa thinking the price was going to be $449.

  • Great deal was able to great one for the partner whose about to begin some study

  • Any chance you could add some additional promo codes, please OP?

I’d like one with an upgraded SSD.
