overpaying, was 4 cents cheaper last month, inflation is real

    • Placed an order. Estimated delivery:
      Wed, 21 Sep - Wed, 28 Sep

Why so long of a wait? :(

      • +3

Hopefully it comes sooner. I ordered one recently and the delivery time was 4 weeks. It surprised me when it turned up inside a week!

        • Monitor posted today.. due tomorrow.. ok :) AUS Post Star track hopefully comes in tomorrow

    • +6

4 cents is alot of money. You save 4 cents here, and then maybe you go somewhere else and save another 4 cents. Then you have 8 cents. Then you take your 8 cents, you go to the 8 cents store, and you buy something else.

      • +4

Then you come back here and say you want the monitor and I say NOOOOooo. Price go up, Monitor now cost maybe $600.

      • BE A MAN ~ Do da RITE TING !

      • +1

        gotta love russell peters :D

  • +1

Thanks OP! Missed last month's , I really NEED the monitor lol

  • Seems like a nice monitor, would this charge and display over USB-C? Can't see it mentioned in the description.

    • Won't charge only delivers 15w

  • -6

Is this too big for regular desk pc gaming

    • No <gif/>

      • -5

Fake news, fake news. To big for fps I rkn, need similar spec 27

  • is this good for editing html etc?

    • +4

Will depend on the editor you use. Monitor is fine.

      • +1

        Notepad.exe

  • Can anyone with this monitor confirm if the blue LEDs on the back can be turned off?

    • +3

I can't be certain but you can turn off the leds in the s2721dgf in the monitor settings and they are very similar monitors. They also aren't super bright I don't notice them on with the monitor against a wall and a ceiling light on.

      • Thanks, that was the other monitor I was looking at - good to know you can turn them off on that model.

I've looked at reviews for this one (G3223D) and some are saying you can turn them off and others are saying you can't :/

        • +1

I have the G3223D. The lights are on, I've not seen a setting to turn them off. I did read somewhere that a software update from Dell could introduce a setting to turn it off, but I haven't checked.
It's a great monitor though. I replaced my xiaomi 34" with this and so happy I did.

    • +3

On my 2721dgf, press menu button > personalize (2nd last option) > lighting (2nd last option): off

fyi, 165hz is only with display port.

  • Better than the Xiaomi by the looks of it?

  • is this better than the samsung g5 odyssey 32inch 165hz 1440p ips?

    • +1

The Samsung is almost double the price ($799) so I'd say the Dell is better value

      • i bought the samsung $400 when it was onsale couple months ago..

      • just wondering if this or the samsung have better spec

    • One major difference is that the Samsung G5 Odyssey is a curved monitor with 1000R curvature. I definitely prefer a flat monitor over something that curved. If you're exclusively gaming then a curve that aggressive might be okay, but for anything else IMO it's too much.

  • Ahhh I’m so lost
I already have a 32inch 4K VA and so looking for another 32inch IPS to make my main monitor
Just can’t decide whether to get 1440p or 4k which would be almost double the price.
I only do reading and movies/YouTube no games

    • If no game then either a 4k 60-75Hz or 1440p 144 Hz like this one.

    • @Danneo …. IMO i'd stick to what you already have because you don't game. The blacks on the VA "should" be better than an IPS … so will really stand out with movies / YT.

The only factor I am unsure about is (hopefully someone can answer this) … does ghosting happen on movies / YT … or only gaming ?

      • +1

I dont notice the ghosting black level smearing on movies and youtube.. only in FPS games and fast pased games..oh and black websites with white text

  • +2

This or the S2721DGF when it's on sale for around the same price?

    • +2

Do you feel comfortable to use 32 inch monitor? Only the size is the main difference, if you want to go bigger then why not

    • I have both and I prefer this one over the S2721DGF, It's larger but it's not a huge difference

  • How does this compare to the LG 32GP850

  • +1

I was looking for USB dock.

Good ones are over $ 150 and cheap ones were not reliable.

End up bought this LOL thanks OP.

I need to sell 27imch 4k monitor now hahaha

  • Thanks OP.. got one..Hope its good.. next Monitor i buy will be an OLED.. but this will do until they come down in price

  • I AM NOT INTO GAMING SO CAN YOU SUGGEST A MONITOR WITH THE SAME SCREEN SIZE IN 4K RES

    • IPS or VA?

I have the Dell s3221qs VA 4K 60Hz and the colour is good but bad black smearing so I’d suggest IPS which from the top of my head, I think the Lenovo one that was a sale the other day is good

    • -1

I recommend Dell G3223Q; although it is classified as a gaming monitor, I use it for non-gaming purposes as it is 32", IPS, 4K, 144Hz and fairly reasonably priced <$900. Although it has lights on the back of the monitor, it is understated and I dont notice it at all.

  • Would I be able to play PS5 on this monitor?

    • -1

You can play ps5 but not at 1440.

Ps5 doesn't support 1440 yet so image would be 1080

      • -1

Still looks quite good, and 1440p support is out soon, the new beta already supports it

      • PS5 beta firmware has 1440p support. I imagine it will roll out in the next update.

  • This is a sick bargain. I’ve been monitor shopping lately and this panel does so much for its price point. At this price you can only get VA 1440p monitors with high refresh, IPS monitors cost at least 600, and more if they have high brightness like this one does. Great deal thanks OP.

  • Thinking about getting this to replace my Dell s3222dgm.

Only hesitation is the s3222dgm costs more so doesn't make sense (seems a downgrade?) but the curved feature is somewhat useless and VA/matte doesn't handle external screen glare very well.

  • Ended up buying one to see what the hype is about with 'gaming monitors'

  • thanks op, got one to replace my samsung 27inch 4k

  • has anyone gone from a 32 inch 4k to 32 inch 1440p? Is it less pleasing to use?

I currently have a Samsung 32" 4K monitor UJ590. thanks for any response!

  • Is VA screen good for photo editing?
I have been using LG IPS, but I am afraid VA screen might make everything wash out.

    • nah so long as the VA has the colour range and is 8bit or more. its fine because its only an issue if your viewing at angles.. from center on the VA is fine

    • +1

      This is IPS, not VA.

  • I'd been planning on waiting for a 27" 1440p deal to come up to pair with my new RX 6700 XT but this deal has got me thinking - should I just go 32"?

Can anyone who has seen both/made the switch comment either way?

  • seems like they are OOS now

    • +1

Oh well - guess it made the decision for me.
I'll keep waiting for a quality 27" 1440p screen to be on a good deal :)

      • I will never ever go back to 27" for gaming :) once you move up to 32" 1440p 144hz+ you will love it.. its just that good

        • +1

I'm coming from 24" 1080p and would ideally like to keep a dual monitor setup so not sure 32" is the best way for me to go.

          • @Peekay: I'm running two 32" Monitors side by side.. they are curved 32" VA 144hz screens so that helps a little but the size is not that bad.. just need to make sure your desk can fit them.
I will be changing to the Dell when it comes in

          • @Peekay: I'm in the same boat. Rocking a couple of Acer 24s that I got from a deal long long ago. Want to upgrade but 32" seems way too big for multi monitor.

Had this been 350 for 27" I would have snapped it up

          • @Peekay: Keep the 24". I'm personally going to use the 32" as main display with a 24" vertically on the left.

  • Other than the similarity of connectors (HDMI) is there anything else to consider in terms of compatibility with existing hardware?

My monitor is starting to play up but my GFX is about 4 years old, would that be an issue?

    • Shouldn't be an issue with this monitor.. it has HDMI

  • noticed this S3222DGM for $559 as i missed this, anyone got any experience or should I just grab a cheap AOC or just wait it out until a deal like this happens again?

    • That's S3222DGM is a VA panel.. it will have black level smearing (ghosting from white on black backgrounds ) .. and for that price NO WAY! .. what a ripp off

All the other brands sell 32" VA 144-165Hz Panels for around $300-$400 normal price

The reason the G3223D was priced so low was it was already discounted before the ebay 20% off coupon code

List price Was: AU $919.00 save AU $382.70 (41% off) - AU $536.30

The Dell VA S3222DGM Panel is at RRP - AU $699.00
      Avoid like the plague

      • Sweet I'll hold out. Worst case I'll get another aoc I had one before and something hit the screen and broke it was unlucky lol

    • They're very different monitors. The 3222DGM is a curved screen with a VA panel. The curve is subtle (1800R), so that might not be an issue (or may even be preferable), and VA tends to have less vibrant colours, but better (deeper) blacks; up to you whether that's preferable or not. VA can potentially have more ghosting as well compared to the modern 'fast IPS'; might be worth comparing specific reviews to see how significant it is with the 3222DGM though as it can vary a lot between monitors.

Thanks the other person who replied sold me on staying away from it
