Bargain price for the ugliest 6600XT on the market :) The back plate doesn't even cover the whole backside… its almost like its wearing 3 quarter pants

    • ok

    • +3

      wow. that backplate.. insane
its how to put 1 backplate on two gpus=cut it in half lol

    • +3

always thought why aren't pants called "longs"

      • +1

        They are in some countries

    • +6

Doesn't look great but the backplate covers the whole PCB. If it extended all the way to the end of the heatsink you'd get worse cooling, as it is air can flow through a large part of the heatsink without any restriction underneath it = better cooling.

Maybe not the card for a windowed case, otherwise not bad!

Personally I'm still waiting to see what happens with prices for 6700/6800 cards over the next month.

    • +1

definatlly good deal for what the 6600xt can do the price is very good.

  • $13 shipping to metro Melbourne

  • +4

Unless you need it asap, I would wait for a better model.

  • Do all models of RX 6600xt come with 1 HDMI port only?

    • +5

The standard for all graphics cards are 1x HDMI and 3x Displayport

They are slowly moving towards 1x HDMI, 2x Displayport and 1x USB C

      • +1

        I haven't see a USB-C on a GPU since the (non-Super) RTX 20-series

        • +2

Yep, real shame too. Having a single connector for display and usb hub was great!

          reference 6800xt/6900xt

      • Weird, when most monitors I see do not have DP?

        • Most office oriented monitors do, the display port is also cheaper to use as it doesn't have any royalties attached, and it has more bandwidth so conversion to HDMI involves no compromises

        • Weird. Maybe give more monitors another look, I haven’t not had a monitor, be it a business/office monitor, standard monitor or high end. Are you looking at TV’s?

Gigabyte Eagle has 2x HDMI and 2x DP

      • -2

Gigabyte Eagle is low on the product line

        • Just answering the question, that Gigabyte Eagle has more than 1 HDMI port
Not sure if any others do

OOS already? :) ok good work OZBargainers

    Challenge Deeez nutz!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't trust AusPCMarket's stock level indicator. I ordered something that was "in stock" the other day and got an email a couple of days later that somebody had purchased it just moments before mine - which I know is BS. The supplier simply ran out as a few other stores started showing their supplier's stock levels as 0.

    • +2

Or someone actually bought it right before you. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      • +2

Yeah, from the distributor, not their actual store stock.

  • Dang. Missed it. Time to wait again :D

Shipping $21 to Brisbane, bit rough

  • Should I get this or wait for the 3070 to fall lower than 600?

    • +5

      wouldn't get a 3070 now unless it was <500 otherwise just get a 6600xt for ~350..

    • +1

Depends if the 6600 XT is powerful enough for you
I'd wait it out if it's not, no point in buying a card if you're just going to replace it soon after imo

      • Yeah this is what I was tossing up.
Looking at the specs I'd probably just replace this one in a year or two anyway based on the 1440p performance, so might as well wait.

        • I am in the same boat, but looking for a decent card (~$500) to drive my new 4k monitor. Currently using RX 5700.
Do I wait for next gen?

          • @bestbarginever: What’s the plan for it? I assume not gaming if you want a 4K monitor then cheap out on a GPU that can’t support it. I’m only running 1440p and would spend closer to the $800-1000 mark for that, granted also wanting to utilise the 144hz that it has but I’d say card would be comparable for that kinda thing if wanting 4K 60hz.

            • @Darude Sandstorm: Currently using RX 5700 for occassional gaming only (efootball) on my lg c2. Issue is I am not getting AMD freesync and refresh is capped at 60hz so wanting to upgrade to a better gfx

              • @bestbarginever: Managed to fix the issue, which was my receiver only supports up to 4k@60hz max so i plug directly to my tv

  • Need a 3060 below $400 :D

    • +1

      should be there soon

  • Darn it I would of just grabbed it .. the 3060 is just out of my price range
