Been waiting for one of these to go on sale. Remember to use Shopback (or similar) for additional cashback.

Fairly extensive list of features, including:

  • Remaining runtime display (OLED display)
  • IPX7 waterproof
  • Built in 6800mAh Li-ion battery
  • Max Output 1800 lumens
  • Max Beam Distance 176 m
  • Dual Beam (Long/Short Range)
  • Handlebar Remote switch

The only downside I found is the Micro-USB charging, which is a bit outdated. But there seems to be no announcement of a new model, so this remains the flagship at the moment.

does this let you get revenge on people in 4wds blinding you with their LED lights?

  • No, but this one will.

    • Good find! Added to the post (although it will likely invalidate any cashback offers)

      • Not in my experience. AliExpress offer big incentives for affiliates to use codes.

        • So you get a benefit from us using this code?

          • +1

@8azinga: It's an AliExpress code. Nothing to do with me.

  • It's OK but Olight lights seem better value:
RN1500 for about $75 when on sale
Alty 2000 - unsure of sale price but full one is about $180…

    Why is it better IMHO:
Looks a lot neater/sexier and more aero/compact/light. The mount is a lot less bulky. It has Garmin mount on the light! How handy is that?!

Not sponsored by olight/magicshine. Just don't see benfit of Nitecore. Plus you can buy olight locally (faster shipping).

Update: oh wow, there is RN3000 now! Hell yeah https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003789407684.html?spm=a2… 3000 lm that's some power!

The Nitecore is mostly for MTB riding at night.

It has multiple beam types to cover flood + spot + fork.

I've been using mine for a year or so and it's flawless.

      Remote button too

The construction of Nitecore products (especially flashlights) have always impressed me, so i'd rather stick with a known brand that I've used before.

      • +1

Fair enough, but Olight/Magicshine is a much bigger and more known brand. They have been reviewed extensively on cycling websites unlike Nitecore.

        • Big fan of my Magicshine Alty. Was a bit of a gamble buying it for me as I didn't know much about the brand, but surpasses my previous Lezyne lights in build quality and value for money.

    • i paid $92 for my rn1500 and that thing was flawless. could also use it as a powerbank. wasn't too happy with the mount as it didn't quite fit my handlebar and i had to modify it a bit.

that said, i'm a big fan of nitecore as well and own several of their torches. really like the idea of the remote switch and would definitely get this but can't justify the need for it at the moment.

both olight and nitecore are well-respected torch brands so i'd opt for these over lights made by cycle brands which mostly seem underpowered and overpriced

  • I'm a fan of the nitecore tube's but they seem to last 6 month to a year and then just die. Opened some up and found broken wires inside. That aside, brilliant little torches.

    • mine are still going. but it's very basic and nothing compared to the nitecore tini (original one without the screen) that's still on my keyring and copping abuse daily. also have the ea41 and tip se. nitecore have good build quality.
