Unlike you, olive oil is useful :)
Eeeemotional damage…
Savage.
This is only the 500mL and not all sizes right?
If anyone wants it today or tomorrow - it's $9 (half price) for 1L@ Coles.

This oil is definitely worth the price. Have cooked with it every day since discovering it.
Does it taste different? I cook with EVOO too but it never significantly changed my food taste or my happiness
I've found normal shop ones don't make a crazy difference (red island/Cobram) but EVOO from local farms/speciality shops are on another level.
There are some olive oils that are insanely thick and have a creamy consistency and have a tonne of flavour and complexity.
International olive oils are apparently often not olive oil, or are heavily mixed with other vegetable oils. Australian olive oils are apparently much more regulated and thus more likely to be actual olive oil, and apparently are fresher too.
I was buying cheap olive oils and then moved to this stuff, and immediately noticed that it smells stronger of actual olives, and suspect that I wasn't using real olive oil before.
Olive oil apparently also tends to be associated with better health outcomes than other oils, but I'm not sure if that's when using it on salads as a dressing or cooking in a pan with it which I do, which I've heard might destroy some of the benefits, but haven't really looked into it enough.
Moro EVOO seems legit for an international https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/83992
Been using it for years, I don’t use anything else now, It smells great while cooking also especially chicken snitzels 😀
About $9 dollars a litre when half price.
Aldi's olive oil (aussie) rates better and costs $9 per litre normally.Cobran is better, but more $$
Aldi is $9.90 (just bought an hour ago), but the point stands. It’s at that price everyday and a solid product.
I heard that Cobram supplies the Aldi brand
Ahhh. The Aldi rumours again. Aldi likes the rumours.
Waiting for Cobram to go on sale again.
I haven't tried the Aldi olive oil but will do next time.
I'm surprised that Red Island scored so low on the Choice test, but as long as you buy Australian olive oils, I don't think you can go wrong (and also support the local industry).
How cheap does cobram get? I've never seen it at 50% off.
Another thing about buying Australian is that the oil should be more fresh since it hasn't had to make the trip from Europe, and hence hasn't been exposed to as much heat and time since it's been bottled.
From what I've read, if you're going to cook with it, there's not a huge difference between the olive oils if they're already decent quality. I haven't tried the aldi, but assume it's decent for cooking given what I've read.
Cobram goes half price regularly but less so these days. Last time posted on OZB was in late March https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/690239
Probably due for another sale soon.
Another benefit of Aust Extra Virgin OO is that it's real Extra Virgin OO.
Some of the imported 'Extra Virgin OO' aren't Extra Virgin or even worse blended with other oils.
Does this have the same easy pour spout like Cobram?
I'm extra virgin as well. Nothing special :(
