      I bought a British "Reaper chili and lime" chips from a gourmet grocer at Gold Coast, I think $6.50 or so, but it was such lip smacking. The Red Rock version felt very pale in comparison.

    A bunch of people on Product Review saying that quality went down a lot over the last couple of years, but I'm not a regular-enough buyer to have tracked it first-hand. Was there just some bad batches or something?

      They now use canola oil. Texture and taste is rubbish

      Been eating these frequently for years. Yes they changed the oil at some point which did make the texture worse, flavour as well to a lesser extent. Despite this, calling it rubbish is an exaggeration, they are still good to me.

      I continue to love how duds on Ozb say, a bunch of people on Product Review, (less than 170 reviews in total across all Red Rock, when there is over 26m people in Oz) say that 'quality went down. It's just laughable.

        Feels like you have a different interpretation of what "a bunch of people" means. If a group of 10 people runs past me dressed as Elvis, I think it's accurate to say "a bunch of people dressed as Elvis ran past me".

        I doubt you'll find many people who disagree with that assessment, but feel free to continue dropping in just to call people duds if that's what it takes for you to get through your day.

          Not exactly agreeing with the other user but Product Review is known for not accurately representing certain products/services. It's fine to check out but take it with a large grain of salt and check other sites too. Like in this instance for the chips, reviews on Product Review is poor, but reviews on Amazon and Ozbargain are good.

    I first met Red Rock Lime & Cracked Pepper flavour in 2004. 20 years now and it is still an absolutely top tier flavour. Maybe not quite so good as it used to be, but I couldn't name a better one off the top of my head.
