  • They look dangerous.

I saw something like this at Bunnings a few years ago, loaded with a charged battery and chained to a display. But you could pick it up and play with it. I remember picking it up and pressing the trigger and thought Wow any kid could just pick this up here and lop off a finger. Every now and then I still think about it and it gives me a shiver even though they've been long off display like that.

Or a very elderly person whom I assume these are targeted at.

Great, now I'm going to have intrusive thoughts about older people with this tool too.

      Why would you say that?

why is every 2nd post a Bosch product?

    • +5

      It's International Bosch Day.

      • +2

Wow there's a day for everything these… days.

    • There are many Bosch products currently available from Amazon for half price, with additional coupons to bring it even lower (many of them to the lowest price they've been on OzBargain).

  • Can't combine with cashrewards, Home Improvement 0% :(

Bosch feedbacks seem not good anymore.

Weird. Why would this be Home Improvement rather than Lawn and Garden…

Reviews aren’t great. Looks like you can barely cut a twig.

    • They're okay for roses and the like, but I found them too slow to work with, went back to manual pruners.

    • I have a pair, they are awesome

  • Thanks OP. Will give it a try at this price.

  • Was looking at this Bosch pruner at the beginning but wasnt able to wait till price drop
At the end bought the Ozito 18V pruner and pretty happy with the performance
It is pretty strong and easy to use
most branches are able to cut with one press

    • how's the balance on that thing? the battery is so far back

      • +1

As I mainly use 2.5Ah battery balance are pretty good

Might be more tiring if using a 4Ah battery as it’s much heavier

  • I can't imagine how it would work well… 3.6V battery trying to generate force from the pivot point by the looks of it…

    • I'm not certain you're right, but what you said makes sense to me.

No lever being employed, is that your point?

      • There would be a lever but it's pretty limited. Cooni's comment relates to the "weak" battery and battery not generating sufficient torque to cut things.

  • Got my mum these, and I have used them. You have to be squeezing and there to be a certain resistant force applied before the motor to kick in. Didn't have an issue using them, nor mum for that matter. Can't cut though thick branches but for hands with arthritis it was really helpful (though they are quite large)

    • (though they are quite large)

      The hands or the pruners?

  • Just buy some Felco F2 or Stihl hand pruner which… Are dangerous 😂 the Stihl hand pruner which is a mini chainsaw can even cut entire trees such as Lemon trees etc. 10cm thick branches etc

  • Why not use got some Fiskars?

    I'm not a fan of micro-usb…

Don't waste your coin on these, clearly a gimmick. I'd say maybe okay for the arthritic grandparents when they're pruning their roses but doubt they'd like the tech.

    • +2

that was my thought process too.

the old ppl I know would stop listening at 'rechargeable'

      • +2

yep i can just hear my dad swearing for 15 about batteries needing to be charged, plastic rubbish
