New model will probably be out next month as they're released each September or October (with rumoured USB C this year) - nonetheless if you want the new one and given it's Apple, you'll probably be able to sell this model for very close to $400 after a couple months of use if you really want the new one but can't wait.

You could always spend ~$4 from AliExpress for an SD card reader, then chuck a cheap SD card in it. It's not an elegant solution, but can give you an extra 64Gb or more to store movies/pics/etc if they're running low on space
I remember buying one from a DJ deal posted here a few years ago that's still collecting dust somewhere in my apartment as I forgot the email/password and couldn't install any updates. I tried everything and couldn't recover it. That kinda put me off from Apple products, but it's my fault for not writing down the ID.

I got the jianmo pencil A11 for $30 from taobao, which has no pressure sensor, not for drawing, but good enough for note taking.
Would like one with pressure sensor though. Any recommendations? Or just stick with the official Apple Pencil?
For me that's good enough, if I want to draw on iPad, I would get iPad pro and Apple pencil 2.
I would only recommend a case. I like the Otterbox Symmetry Series Folio and it's good for most users.
If the new ipad comes with usb-c that means the old apple pencil gen1 won't be compatible. So that would mean future upgrades you will need to purchase the apple pencil 2.

no not compatible with this model. I was just indicating that if one were to buy into this particular ipad and then get the apple pencil 1 to go with it, that will be the last ipad that the apple pencil will work with. Any future ipads will require the apple pencil 2.
I am still using the ipad 6 and apple pencil 1 so when newer ipads are released, my current pencil 1 becomes redundant. Not happy about this but what can i do.

64GB is on the low side you need 128GB these days
Doesn't really apply to this deal. New iPad will most likely be released soon so if buying this model right now, spending less is better. Also, for people in Apple ecosystem, this is considered a low end device (iPhone 11 level CPU) so no real point to upgrade storage.
