$20 off Your First Superloop nbn Bill and $16 off Per Month for 6 Months @ Superloop

882
CONNECTNOW22AC

Got this in the email when I was half assedly signing up to different NBN plans (as we all do every 6 months).
Terms and conditions https://www.superloop.com/documents/legal/SuperloopHomeBroad…

I went with the 50/20 option and the following came up in the "Your Contract" section:
"In addition, this promotion - CONNECTNOW22AC - includes $20 once-off credit, $16 off per month for 6 months."

So yeah, it stacks with this deal.

So it's $33.95 the first month, then $53.95 for the following 5 months. According to my cost summary.
Pretty sure the code is universal as it doesn't seem to be a mix of randomly generated gibberish. Sorry if it is targeted, I don't know how to flag this post as targeted.

Edit: Hmm dang, seems like it's targeted?
For reference what I did was:

  1. Go to their website: https://www.superloop.com/

  2. "Check Address" > View NBN Plans

  3. Select NBN Home Standard (50/20) > Signup Now

  4. Enter details, "Choose plan"

  5. Close browser.

  6. Receive email.
Didn't take it seriously at first, but it does say on the email that the code comes with a 48 hour expiry.
So only do this when you plan to actually sign up in the next 48 hours.

Superloop are terrible with endless problems. I was with them for 3 months and it was painful. Never again. Im with aussie broadband now and i wouldnt look back

    • +5

I've been with Superloop in two different addresses and in both instances, they have been awesome

      • explain awesome.. please because ive had them at NSW The gables and NSW Parramatta and both locations were so terrible it wasnt worth the pain.

    • +1

I've been with Superloop (FTTP) for over a year now with no issues. What problems did you experience? And what's your connection type?

      • Connection type was FTTP and also HFC - problems were always down and speeds were rubbish - then the added stress of service which was non existant.

    • +1

Connected to SL for over 2 years now. Pretty good overall. The only ISP that pro-actively sent me SMS about service disruptions in my area. YMMV.

    • On fttp. Had more problems with Aussie when I was with them tbh. They had server maintenance round the clock (every night). I believe they were transitioning to the new servers. My first NBN provider when my area went live for fttp under labor (2015?). Had them for a few years.

Left them around 1.5 years ago. ABB > Telecube > ABB > Superloop > Origin > Superloop.

Until recently, 3 weeks ago. I never had maintenance on Superloop for the Thornbury poi. Also, Aussies DNS always solved queries slower. They recently had some DNS problems. I would recommend Aussie if people need local support and good international links. Otherwise, it's too expensive without the running deals.

  • I don't think the deal translates. I've inserted the coupon code and is just gives me the default offer from the previous link I. E. $68.95 / m for 100/20

    • +1

Confirmed that I left the page and they emailed me a reminder the next day that offered the discount.

  • Literally signed up 2 days ago. Far out.

  • +1

feckin hell i just churned from SL to spintel like a month ago

  • From the T&Cs:

    1. Returning customers, who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six (6) month discount promotion, will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

Not sure how well they enforce that.

    • address check? email? contact number? damn the days of arbitraging discounts might be over soon

    • Different name and email address worked for me. This allowed me to sign up again with the current promotion on offer after being away from SL for only 6 months.

  • +1

Not able stack the code. Is there a way to do it.

  • +1

Can we stack a referral code with this?

    • Wondering this too?

  • Signed up yesterday to Superloop without this code so I’ve tried inputting that code into a new signup but it says code is invalid or expired

  • +1

Have a feeling it is targeted as I only had the one-off $20 discount when I also tested a sign-up with Superloop (didn't go through to the end).

  • why don't they still not have gigabit connections?

  • Thanks will sign up to this once I hit 5 months with my current exetel

    • how's your experience with Exetel so far?

      • Normal, have no issues except the home security trial thing kept spamming me via SMS and had some issues logging in to some websites / games on mobile. After I disabled it have not had any issues.

        • +1

not to mention the speed boost is just a gimmick

          • @[Deactivated]: How so? Genuinely curious

      • Mine has been average. Connection experience was poor and I get pretty bad latency spikes that I wasn't getting with Superloop or Telstra.

  • If I choose a plan with Superloop that is too slow and want to go up to the next plan, is that a simple process like I heard it is with Launtel and continue with the discounted pricings?

  • I've just signed up for 100Mbps and only get "In addition, this promotion - CONNECTNOW22 - includes $16 off per month for 6 months."
That's still a very good deal anway.

    • +1

You have to close the window and they send you an email a day later with CONNECTNOW22AC.
      I just got it.

    Ex Superloop customer here.

Superloop have moved their support from Australia to Sri Lanka (yes, you've read that right!). How do I know this? I asked them when I called them to check if a promotion was applicable to old customers (FTTN>FTTP upgrade). They struggled to give me an answer even after 30min on hold + they didn't know that Superloop have a promotion for FTTP upgrades!
As I refuse to support a company that outsourced/offshored their support, I've signed with Aussie Broadband for a free FTTN>FTTP upgrade + $20 off for six months. It was a pleasure to talk to an Australian from Morwell (yes, their call centre is in country Victoria). It was all sorted in a matter of minutes without being bounced between departments. I couldn't be happier knowing that the extra $10 I pay now (when compared to Superloop) goes towards supporting Australian jobs and business.

    • +2

So SL moved their support to SL, wow!

  • On aussie right now with a home phone which we don't use just to save the number. Does supertell transfer number as well?

    • +1

No. Superloop don't offer VoIP. If you want to keep the number look into a third party VoIP provider like Crazytel. Having your phone with a third party provider makes switching NBN providers easier, as you don't have to worry about porting the number each time you change NBN providers.

      • +1 for porting to crazytel, dont let your isp hold you hostage over a landline

      • Thanks, will swap at the end of this billing period. Currentely paying 99 bucks for 100/20.

  • +3

Just called SL up as an existing customer and was able to change from 100/20 to 250/50 and get the new member's price (99.95) for the next 6 months.

The number for the Retention team - 02 9138 7948

    Good luck!

    • +1

Similar story for me but did not manage to get as good a deal. I was already on their 250/25 for $99.95 price and just reached my 6th month (last month of discounted price).

Started with online chat and they directed me to Retentions, giving the same number as above comment. I called up Retentions and they were able to offer me $15 off, which is a $5 per month increase from my current bill. Not the worst I guess, at least there's something for existing customers. May still churn over to ABB (been with them before as well) but so far i'm happy with Superloop on my FTTP connection.

      • I guess it's a bit of pot luck!

I was with ABB previous to SL about 1.5 years ago. The drop outs were insane so I went over to SL. No idea what they're like now but if they end up being cheaper than SL, I may think about it!

  • thanks, great deal

Scheduled to connect at the end of my free month with ABB - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/716212

  • Hi, do Superloop provide VOIP service? Cannot see it on the website.

    • +1

No they don't. I would recommend porting your phone number to a third party VoIP provider like Crazytel. This will allow you to easily switch between NBN providers without having to worry about porting your phone number each time.

  • +1

How long is this deal available for?
Is it worth going with ABB for 1 month free then switching to SL for this deal ($54 50/20 unlim for 6 months)?

  • +2
    • That is 100% it, thank you for finding that pdf. Can I put you into the deal description?

      • Go for it.

        • Cheers.

  • These guys absolutely sucked. Outages without appearing on their outages page, which you can only see your own area anyway. Whirlpool was the only way to get any information out of this company. Couldn't cancel by website or email even though you can sign up online; had to talk to one of their operators on the phone, and just in case you haven't figured this out by now, their phone support rivals qantas for wait times. Never again.

    • I talked to an Australian Guy straight away when I called up, sorted out my date change issue easy as, best experience I've had with a provider. That is my first and only contact with them

    • +1

Had no issues with superloop. I churn regularly and have used basically all ISPs and they've been the best

    • Been with Superloop for a while now and this is the general consensus with superloop. There support times aren't that good. They were lad with outage reports and like this person mentioned, you could only find out by visiting whirlpool. They seemed to have picked up slack in the latter. I now get 3 emails per outage.

Networks good. They seem to be purchasing enough cvc ( at least for my poi) and international links (very relevant for my household) are great.

    • ^ agreed

  • Thank you also used a random Ozbargin refferal code, not sure what it does for the other person tho
When is it best to set the start time of the switch of providers?
I did 2 days before, but now I think I probably just wasted 1 day

  • If anyone's tried this, how long did it take to get the abandoned cart email?

    • Didn't come in an hour

      • +1

        nothing here either

        • got the email after a day or so :D

  • Currently with superloop, but my discount is about to expire. Has anyone been able to sign up with a different name at the same address? Any issues?

    • I’ve done 2 “new connections” with SL in the past (only just moved to exetel to take advantage of cash back and new 6 month discount). Signed up same address but different account holder and was able to get the SL discounts.

      • So I'd have to churn out and then back in?

    • I'm thinking the same, but will try to give this offer to online chat if they can match.

      • Let us know how you go!

        • online chat let me call retention team. I compared other offer from econ with $100 gift card is a little better, so signed up to transfer, may check back after 6months.

  • +1

How long does it take to get the email after following steps in OPs description?

  • @Outsider bit confused with this statement:

So it's $33.95 the first month, then $53.95 for the following 5 months. According to my cost summary.
    ————————-

Did you mean $33.95 the first month, then $37.95 ($53.95 - $16) for the following 5 months?

    • $53.95 is already a discounted price

      • Oh Gotcha, so this deal is additional $20 off for the first month, makes sense. The title on this deal confused me.

        • Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure all this code in OP does is provide $20 on first month - otherwise the deal is identical to the 6 month promo currently running?

          • +1

@evasive: Thats exactly what I was trying to clarify and the guy above confirmed it.

  • Any recommendation on a modem/router so I can move to another ISP if I decide to move? I know differnt ISP support different type of modem/routers.

  • Internodes running a good deal too for churners on 50 speed. About $59.99 for 6 months from memory.

  • +1

Followed the steps and finally received an email in the middle of the night but doesn't look like theres any deal as such

    'Hey
Did your internet drop out before you could complete your order? We’re here to help you change that.
You can quickly and easily return to your cart and pick up where you left off by clicking the button below.'

    • +2

Click the link and it will apply the code

  • Thanks Op, i'll give this a go.

  • I'm with superloop for 100/40 speed @ $80 a month (Normally $100). I wanted to drop my plan to 50/20 and they said the $20 discount wouldn't apply, even thou that plan was and is still available for new users. Makes no sense.

  • Finally spoke to a local guy today, who retrospectively applied the code, confirming, $20 off first month for $33.95.
The $16, is for 6 months after that…. unfortunately, that price is the normal $53.95 as listed on their website. I had signed up for the 50/20 service FTTN.
The only difference being, it's $53.95 for 6 months, after the initial month, not 5 months….well, this is what I was told over the phone, and have on an email I've received, after asking for written confirmation.

    • Nice! So you got the $20+$16 off first month, PLUS $16 off for the 6 months after that? Lucky guy.

"Normal" price, as in the "not a new customer" price is $69.95 for 50/20.
$53.95 is the discounted price as per this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/711440

      • Yes, basically would only get me the first month $20 off….or a $20 credit, same thing.

The next 6 months after that will be at the advertised price of $53.95 per month (50/20 data) as a new customer, new sign up etc.

The $20 brings first month down to $33.95

They confirmed, the $16 is already taken off the regular price, hence already paying $53.95.

        It won't double stack unfortunately.

        • You've got your stack if your first month is $33.95 mate lol

          $69.95 (original price) - $16 (first stack) - $20 (second stack) = $33.95. Congrats.

          • @Outsider: I think what he's saying is the remaining 5 months will not double stack, only the first month will double stack due to $20 discount on first bill.

            • @Craze: Got my first bill and it's $53.95, despite being told by the guy, they would add the discount code and I'd save the $20

              • @Spending2Much: Get onto CS and ask what happened there. My first bill was $33.95.

  • Anyone managed to get this recently? They have not sent me an email!

    • I got the email after 1 day, Still works

    • Worked a day later for me too

  • Yeah I got mine eventually!

  • Took 48 hours for the discount to be emailed, they will send a reminder email after 24 hours first and then a link with $20

    • The reminder email already has the promo applied for me

  • Kinda OT: any suggestions for a home router, or a website that offers recommendations/review? It's been a while since I've researched router and don't know where to start.

  • Will be activating service tomorrow- has anyone who signed up with the $20 discount for first month confirm has to be paid via DD only?

    • +1

No can use VISA or Mastercard

  • +1

For anyone looking to get this deal just follow the steps listed in the post. I received my email the day after I completed them. Note that the email that I received did not actually mention the discount.
The subject of the email is: "Hey x, did your internet drop out? Let us fix that for you"
Clicking the "Resume Cart" button provided in the email resulted in the targeted discount being applied.

  • Is there a reason to get this over the Shopback/Econnex cashback offer of $63 (Was $99 upsized not too long ago)? The 6 month promo pricing appears to be open to all new signings.

    • +1

I think a lot of people may not be eligible due to using it before

  • sweet got 1000/50 for 99 a month

  • Got the email after shutting down my sign up but no code for $20 off in it. Must be very much targeted.
