  • Got my first dud Like New item. Have to return it for a refund.

    • What was wrong with it?

      • Looks like part of it is starting to go rusty? I'd try to use alcohol or something to try to buff it out if it weren't for the fact that a different part of the item is missing.

    • +1

      What item?

      • I got a tool for the garden. It was an item listen - Like New, just the one only. I've never had an issue with an like new item I've gotten so I thought I'd save a few bucks. Refunding is pretty easy. Click a few buttons, type a short message. I'll drop it off next time I got past the drop off point. Not a huge issue but my wife is berating me for trying to save a few bucks. Will I do it again? Maybe not today… Can't find stuff every day.

But it's the thrill of scoring a good bargain that's addictive ✌

  • I find one of hardest to catch is the Organic Beef Bolognese Pasta seems always Currently unavailable.

    • +4

Harder than those choc chip cookies? 😤

      • Haven't tried them but Yes

      • +1

It's even worse because I know that those cookies are really good I just can't buy them :/

    • Fark missed again

    • The reviews seem pretty bad. Are they worth the effort?

      • 4 star from 74 ratings is bad since when ?

        • 2/5 What the fudge?
          1/5 Not to my tastes
2/5 Tasty but will break your teeth, Wouldn't buy again.
          3/5 Disappointing texture and flavour
          4/5 Extremely tasty
          1/5 Steer clear, trust
1/5 Dry, hard and only taste of sugar
          5/5 Great cheap biscuits

These are the Top reviews I see on the front page

Edit: If you dial down a bit more into it:

          3.9 out of 5
          Value for money 3.7
          Flavour 3.2

      • That's what I was thinking as well. I like my cookies soft like the subway ones, so I don't think I'd like these ones.

        • I prefer soft ones too. I generally only eat 1 or two small cookies a day with my coffee in the afternoon so I want something good. Quality over quantity. That's not to say I don't eat bad stuff either. I hate wasting food so I'll eat super stale stuff if I've already bought it. Just when I have the choice at the checkout/cart, I'll go with something nicer. Still has to be a bargain. Can't pay RRP.

      • Just realised these weren't the ones I was thinking of before, I had the normal choc chip
Not sure if I'd like the fudge.

Also ratings can often be for multiple products (selected via options) on Amazon which is annoying because it's to differentiate which.

        • +1

          28 global ratings. 4.3 out of 5.

When I think of good ratings I think of something like this:
Arnott's Premier Chocolate Chip Cookies, 310 Grams 90 ratings, 4.5 out of 5, Flavour 4.5, value for money 4.4

I can't really comment on the cookies though as I don't think I've had any of these cookies before. I honestly don't eat many cookies from the regular supermarket. If I see them in the tea room at work, sure I'll grab one but I generally buy my cookies from Costco. They have a good Italian cookie pack right now. It's pretty pricey though. $20+?

Edit: Also ratings shouldn't the be-all and end-all of your decision making but it can help. Most things I try to buy on Amazon are usually 4.5 stars+

          • @ozbs25: Those cookies deserve the 4.5 star rating, they're amazing. Might get a pack now actually XD

            • @pennypincher98: Don't seem to get discounted much at Amazon. Do these go half price or anything at the majors? Will have to try them now.

              • @ozbs25: $3.15 via S&S is a good price. Coles don't stock them (at least locally), Woolies mostly does and IGA are more expensive. I've never seen them go half price but that doesn't mean they never have.

                • @pennypincher98: Have you had the Costco bakery choc chip cookies? We sometimes get them when the get discounted and freeze them. I wonder how they compare? Freshly baked vs supermarket shelf maybe not a fair fight.

                  • @ozbs25: I don't go to Costco so can't say I have. Yea these aren't freshly baked so if you normally get those you might be disappointed but I'd rather have more cookies than the 6pk freshly baked at Coles/Woolies (probably similar comparison)

                  • +2

@ozbs25: I love the Costco bakery choc chip cookies, I reckon they are the best cookies out there. The only snack I'd pay full price for. I didn't think they would freeze though, so i eat them over 2 weeks 😂

The caramel slice and brownies pack from the bakery is also super good. It's not that sweet and seems to freeze well.

                    • @MeesusEff: We have quite a lot of freezer space so we freeze just about everything from there.

I guess maybe stuff like the Black Forest cake, tarts and anything with lots of fresh cream wouldn't go well in there.

The cookies are even kind of nice straight from the freezer, if you like them hard. If you don't trust me just throw one or two in there next time you get a pack. See if you don't mind the taste. Maybe better than forcing them down over two weeks.

Have you tried the new bacon and cheese bread yet? Not cheap but it's so good. Only tried it from the Ipswich store though.

                      • @ozbs25: Ah nah I don't usually get bread as theres usually people giving out free bread near my area on certain days. I wish I had a chest freezer but my freezer is super small and full so I can hardly buy meat from Costco lol.

I like soft cookies, but I'll try freezing a few next time to control my rations 😂 thanks for the tip.

Haha, just read one of the fudge reviews more closely:

I’m a fat mfer and I’ll eat anything; except these.

Not even milk made these cookies any less dry.

Expect worse than a woolies home brand cookie.

(I didn’t believe the reviews either.)

  • Warehouse is very quite today do they put out deals of a Saturday ?

  • Mods, if you are there, can you allow the camels as a special referral link? It doesn't make sense to not allow them in here.

    • but why?

      • I normally check the price at Amazon through the camels just in case the price has changed. Because I went to Amazon from the camels it has the camels as part of the url. If I just copy and paste that url, the whole post is then instantly unpublished. I have to go and search for the item manually and copy and paste that link. It's a PITA especially if I forget to do the manual part then have to do the whole post again. With regular posts, I guess they allow for camel referrals.

    • If your only justification for mods to do something is "it doesn't make sense not to", you're gonna have a bad time.

You should use Talk with a Mod (TWAM) in the forum to discuss this, instead of randomly hoping a mod will come in here and see it.

    • Does this power supply come complete with a set of Modular Cables ?

      • There is an image below in the description that lists the cables that come with the PSU.

        • Great Thanks I found it.

        • Would you recommend this power supply ?

          • @chrisie: Better to ask in that other post. I don't know anything about it. It does appear in the PSU Tier list in that someone else highlighted earlier. Tier A, but "speculative position". Don't really know what that means. But like I said probably better to ask in the main post.

For those looking for a way to get to the Amazon Warehouse Pantry Food & Drink landing page on the Amazon app. Use This Link on mobile and it should take you right to the app on the correct page. To refresh the page hit the filter button and then select/deselect the Prime filter.

    • Just wondering where is the filter button ?
Does F5 do the same ?

  • Boo another lack of stock email and cancelled order this time for the sparkling water from a week plus back..

Seems like if they don't ship it within a couple of days after the order then a cancellation could happen, wish it would happen sooner and not after the pending arrival date.

Ahh well the roulette wheel that is amazon warehouse.

    • Yeah it seems if they push back the shipping date by more than 2-3 days then chances are it's cancelled

LOL the aioli that I paid full price for expires earlier than the one I bought from Amazon warehouse by a full month. Anyhoww Return/ refund time :D

Grocery items are not allowed to be returned to Amazon AU, so enjoy your free aioli :)
Ask for a compensation credit while you're at it

      • +1

yup thats what they informed me. they hv refunded my account. Compensation credit on top of the refund??

Agent - " I've filed the report to investigate this - so this does not happen to anyone else. Other marketplace sellers on Amazon.com may still offer it, but we will not fulfill any orders directly from our own inventory. Fixing may take 7 days "

As I have understood, they will be removing the listing in 7 days and hopefully it will appear on the warehouse sale so all you peeps can enjoy it too. :)
I hv enough garlic aioli for now :P

Edit: wait what..who downvoted you? arent we all here to rob papa Bezos ?

        • Compensation credit on top of the refund??

Doesn't hurt to ask. A lot of the times they'll provide a $5 or more credit to keep you happy.

Edit: wait what..who downvoted you? arent we all here to rob papa Bezos ?

Oh well, at least I know who my true supporters are… It's not like I made an incorrect statement, but if it was because I said "ask for a credit" then I'm lost for words. More like THEY'RE getting robbed by papa Bezos. $5 credit aint gonna make a scratch on his bank account

  • BLACKWOLF 7 Person Tuff Tent, Forest $337.48 (RRP 879.99) 3 Only

Not quite sure what's going on here. Best price on the camels and it may keep dropping?? May not last long though…

    Other stores selling this:

    Tentworld $649.99
    Wild Earth $699.95
    Pushy's $649.99

Am I seeing things? Why would Amazon be selling it so much cheaper?

    • because bezos

      • Is Blackwolf one of those brands that have inflated RRP then discount heavily?

    • Can just buy multiple cheap Kmart tents

      • Not a fan of buying cheap things. I'd prefer to spend more money on something better quality. Perhaps Kmart tents are ok but the phrase cheap Kmart tents doesn't give me a lot of confidence.
