    REPLY FROM NETGURU PTY LTD

    Hello all.

Firstly, let us start off by apologizing for any inconvenience caused.

We can assure you that NetGuru is no scam. The reason the site has been taken down is because the site had a bad product import which saw errors with the retail price and availability of products. In some instances, products were imported with a $0.00 price.

We understand that everyone on ozbargain enjoys a good deal as do we, but common sense must prevail in situations like these. Nobody is getting free laptops or cameras for a $10 shipping fee, yet we had 100’s of orders. We have our developers busy rectifying the issue and once that is resolved the site will be brought back online. We will be refunding all orders in full that were placed after 20:00pm on 28/07/2022.

Once again, kindly accept our sincere apologies for the error, and please allow our team some time to rectify the situation and process all the refunds.
If you have any questions, please send them through to our sales team via email at – [email protected]

    • Lol fair enough.

Is the 2TB SSD for $163 still gonna be on offer?

      • +1

I'm guessing that imported from USD as that's around what it sells for over there. Should be $232 after currency conversion +10% for GST.

        See here
        https://www.newegg.com/team-group-2tb-mp34q/p/N82E1682033172…

Edit: wtf are newegg doing with their currency conversion??

168.99 US Dollar = 241.42 Australian Dollar according to Google conversion.

        Item(s): AUD $261.00 <<<< Why $20 more?
        Delivery: AUD $34.00
Est. Duty & GST: AUD $28.34
        Total: AUD $323.34

    • Is this deal legit though?

      • +8

OP, don't be like that. This is not the first time a store made a pricing error.

We will be refunding all orders in full that were placed after 20:00pm on 28/07/2022

People, if you did place any order yesterday after I am guessing the rep meant 8PM (not 20PM), then the store plans to refund every one of those orders. If you still want to hope for this deal to go through, you could, but….

        • +7

True, OP taking it bit personally, OZB have history of pricing errors. nothing new.

        • +6

          Thank you netsurfer.

@up2date - Mistakes happen with product imports. We are sorry you feel the way you do, but we have clearly explained the situation and apologized for any inconvenience. As mentioned, all orders will be refunded. No need for slander or insults.

          • -8

@NetGuru-Austalia: Ok all good, apology accepted :) let me search another NVME deal somewhere else.

Do you want to hire a new developer? I'm looking for a good pay job now.

Nobody is getting free laptops or cameras for a $10 shipping fee, yet we had 100’s of orders.

      Besides Lenovo customers ;)

  • Says free shipping above $100. Nice.

Safe bet is to use PayPal in case something stuffs up.

    • +4

Still charging $10 for shipping during checkout

    5% code

    NETG-5

Hope its generic so help others

    • +4

Thanks, it worked and made shipping free.

Will be interesting to see if this ever gets shipped lol.

Surely it will be OzBargained in the next few mins and no one will get any units shipped. (Especially the $0 stuff below, and that’s totally understandable to get cancelled of course)

  • +1

  • +3

Seems like the price for the 1tb?

    • Maybe a price error

      • +3

If it is, then it's probably not worth it, either they cancel your order and wait ages for refund or potentially getting a 1TB and go through the hassle of returning it.

        • +1

          paypal protects the buyer…

    • +14

The Team Group MP34Q only comes in capacities of 2, 4 and 8TB.

      There is no 1TB SKU.

  • +2

Thanks OP bought one. Will wake up tomorrow and see if it was a good idea.

    • +4

Woke up tomorrow. Turns out it probably wasn't a good idea.

Seems they have WD 14TB SAS drives for $0.00 as well :)

Are they a team, or a group?

    • +8

      A group of teams

    • +2

      I AM GROUP!

  • Would anyone know if this is compatible with Asrock M370 extreme 4 mobo?

  • +4

Huh, they seem to share a PO Box with a kids clothing company called Knogins

    • +2

      That's amazon usa.

      • yeah, my mistake that I didn't notice it from google

    • that's usd

    • in US dollar

    • +3

The review doesn't seem good for this SSD.

  • +3

Their FAQ page is still the default (or maybe they're just native in Latin /s)

    https://store.netguru.com.au/pages/frequently-asked-question…

    • +5

Uh-uh, I think we just got scammed haha.

      • +2

We? What do you mean we?

    • Stercus accidit

  • +1

Something is really fishy. I wouldn't use this site.

  • Free - https://store.netguru.com.au/collections/storage-drives/prod…
Personally I wouldn't buy anything from this store even though they've got an address + it's a Shopify store.

  • +9

Site is a bit dodgy but I followed the LinkedIn page and it shows 1 guy.. Sheldon Riddick. I found him on facebook and it states he is the MD of NetGuru.. He's originally from South Africa so I checked his profile pics and can confirm the photo's is from South Africa… So either the did a really good job in getting everything together or its a one man show who made a mistake with the price.

    • +3

sounds like a detective game lol

    • That’s some detective work. So for people who used paypal, would you say the money is gone or any chance we will get a refund?

      • Well, they will send you an empty box with tracking ID. $10 gone. I'm kidding of course.

It's only $10 for you anyway.

        • Yea worth the $10 risk but Paypal is good in refunding I've noticed.

          • @RenVilo: Problem is, seller could go quiet for a week or two (most likely the seller will realise the mistake and refund all). Worst case, need to go through raising a case. I don't know how soon you can raise it.

Even with larger sellers with similar pricing mistakes, they are not always fast in refund.

    • +1

The problem is his website has been up for a year and it's not complete. Yet he has hundreds of products listed. I'd be careful.

Seems like a brand new site with either test data or an improperly configured data feed. No way you're getting the orders, just going to be mass refunds.

      • +4

I would not buy no matter what. I wouldn't risk given my personal details to a site like this. Even if he is alright bots will detect the flaws and steal your information. It might have been hacked.

        • +5

Regretting my orders more with every comment. I wish I just went to bed and never seen the post lol.

          • +1

@Larsson: Orders? Well, there is a small chance this SSD deal might go through (doubtful but possible). $0 HDD and full frame camera, no chance.

You used Paypal so you will get your money back (worst case you need to waste a bit of time chasing the refund). It's best other OZBers don't try to gamble on this site though.

            • @netsurfer: Wishful thinking…
The site has been put into maintenance. Obviously it had test data feed like someone has mentioned.

        • +1

I am sure your name and address are already out there, we interact with too many businesses for it to have not been sold somewhere along the way.

  • +1

I hope this is legit lol just bought one.

  • +4

Sorry but this is almost certainly a scam of some sort

    • I would say pricing error more than a scam.

  • +1

Everyone needs to watch "Back In Very Small Business" to understand this "Store"

  • Yeah feels like a scam as Dollan mentioned. Might have caught this person while they were setting up the scam site. Not worth it but here for the $100 Vita and free blender vibes.

    • +2

Well actually I'm getting a monitor and laptop for a grand total of $10

  • +1

    Net guru, not price guru.

  • -5

I'd be extremely cautious making a purchase on this site.

    https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/store.netguru.com.…

    • +5

Both those concerns are a bit bs. I don't disagree it's a dubious website but not for those reasons

      • -1

I was supplying additional information to what had already been discussed and what wasn't clearly available by viewing the website.

  • +1

Warning others, don’t give them your personal details. It’s too late for me. :(

    • Something happened?

    • +1

Never use credit card direct payment for those kind website and give them an alias name instead of your real name which should be fine.

  • +5

I paid $10 shipping for a laptop, half a dozen camera lenses, a couple of screens, and a hard drive.

Or maybe more correctly, I paid $10 for a laugh today, and a headache in a week.

    • I don't understand why you needed to pay $10 for the laugh.

  • +1

    Website is down for maintenance.

  • +2

Commenting so I can downvote the deal as a flag to others. Good luck with your refunds all!

  • I hope the MP34Q M.2's still get sent out.

I didn't order any of them but I kinda feel bad otherwise for a couple of people who bought them if they got their hopes up, and then end up having their time wasted.

    • Did you see this bit. It seems all orders are to be cancelled. No one is getting this for $163.

"We will be refunding all orders in full that were placed after 20:00pm on 28/07/2022."

      • -1

Nah, I didn't see it. But I got a few notifications on my phone saying that I've been refunded and such.

I tried ordering a camera and a few HDDs on express postage. I figured if there was a chance that their pricing was an error, it might get sent out still.

Unfortunately, though, a lot of people didn't have that same logic, they just added shitloads to their cart thinking "why not?". If the web admins didn't know there was a problem on the website before, they certainly did after getting all those ridiculous orders in a night.

  • Mmmmm nikon z9 camera…. for $0.. yes please! From this site…. no thanks.
Site is down for maintenance. Hope this isn't a bad sign for the folks who have purchased this. If it pans out, yas scored big time!

  • +1

Is there a way for these clowns to steal our PayPal login etc

    • Quite possibly, yes. When you signed into PayPal, it used a unique token which gives the user easy access to resign back in.

A lot of the time hackers will just use the site cache on your end as opposed to using your password directly.

  • +3

Site is down for maintenance. Haha as always…. nothing escapes ozbargainers….simply awesome. We will hunt down a deal even when the US intelligence could not hunt down a person with anti-national sentiments.

  • Is this gen3 or gen4

    • +1

      Does it matter now?

      • Nah, and gen3

  • I wish the website wasn't down.. Would grab, buy with Paypal and just refund if I don't get the product

  • +2

Yeap, refunds are coming in. Hope everyone gets it.

I got it for the ssd. I think $0 items next

    • what refund do you expect for $0 items? :)))

      • +2

Shipping… $10 is not nothing when you don’t get an item or service

  • I got the refund for SSD, no explanation or excuse

  • I got my refund on the free items :D Honestly its all fair. Sometimes you score, other times not. I wouldn't go and blame Netguru for not honoring the deals or not emailing everyone to provide an excuse. Everyone here knew it would be a long shot or even lost the $10 haha.. At least he got some publicity and people know he's legit hahaha

  • Refunded

  • +1

Knew this couldn't be real. Lol. Too much lorem ipsum, 0$ add to carts and since when was hardware put on 'Aged Stock Clearance' - must of missed the memo where an IT business merged with a butcher, I'll take 2 platters thanks.

  • Yeah just got paypal refund. At least it is not a scam. Oh well will have to wait for another 2tb m.2 sub $200 if any lol
