Fujitsu 2.5kW/3.2kW Split Inverter Air Con $898.20 (RAC Members Only, Bonus $150 Cashback) + Del ($0 WA/SA/NT C&C) @ Retravision

120

There's been a few posts recently regarding smaller AC units which led to my search and the subsequent discovery of this deal. Yet to pull the trigger myself but very tempted, not much time left with click frenzy so thought I should post this for the benefit of others and myself should someone be able to find an even better deal..

Fujitsu 2.5kW/3.2kW Designer Split System Inverter Air Conditioner (SETASTG09KUCA)

Reduced price from $1098 to $998
Minus 5% (RetroFrenzy Code automatically applied)
Minus 5% RAC Members discount

Bonus Fujitsu Cashback $150 (Expires 1st of August)

Total price is $748.20 per unit

For those looking for a larger unit from the same series this 5kW/6kW may be worth considering with the slightly higher cashback offer making the final price to $1238.20

Personally I'm not a fan of the designer series due to the fact it has extra moving parts and requires additional space above to allow for the front panel to raise and expose the vents. On a positive note though, it appears the 'design series' have been made for over a decade and my research didn't find any negative reviews regarding the front panel needing repair.

I currently own a Fujitsu from the lifestyle range which has served me well and another reason why I am leaning towards this brand over Samsung, Mitsubishi etc

Retravision apparently also offer a 60 day price promise and a lowest price guarantee; https://www.retravision.com.au/why-choose-retravision#lowest…

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2022

  • Fujitsu vs Daiken?

    "i prefer a Mitsubishi" - every ozbarginer

I've had both Mitsubishi and Fujitsu units installed at my place in the last 2 years. Based on my experience I wish I'd waited for the additional Mitsubishi units to be in stock rather than buying Fujitsu. The Fujitsu units take much longer to kick in and don't cool/heat the room anywhere near as fast or as well as the Mitsubishi does, and in summer the coolness on the Fujitsu units is nowhwere near as good as the Mitsubishi. That's just my experience anyways.

      • Great feedback cheers, is that the Mitsubishi or Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufacturer you have?

        • +3

I have Fujitsu and MHI. The good thing about the Fujitsu is tht it is very compact for its size. We would have only been able to fit a 4kW MHI in the place where we have a 6.3kW Fujitsu. Our MHI is 8kW. I rate them both equally.

        • +1

Mitsubishi Electric (the more retail consumer models). I looked at MHI (the more industrial models) when I was buying and a lot of aircon installers use MHI because they're typically 10% cheaper. When I bought the Mitsubishi unit in Nov 2020 I went through a special buying service I had access to and picked up the 8kw unit for $1860 from Harvey Norman (yes I know they're the spawn of satan). I just saw Retravision are flogging this same Mitsu 8kw unit for $2408 after the 10% discount and cash back rebates, so it's gone up a lot in the last 2 years.

      • Thanks for the feedback.

MHI is crap, there's well known issues with the rattling noise from ooze plastic parts. You wouldnt be able to sleep with it running

I have two of these units installed and would not recommend or buy Fujitsu again. Both units have been problematic with warranty repairs and one unit continues to generate a lot of noise when in use.

    • My 2nd hand Fujitsu stopped working after a year. The outside unit seems to be dead, but no obvious damage to mainboard. Gas is good.
I guess its not economical to repair or even diagnose without warranty ?

    • How was the warranty process with Fujitsu?

      • +1

Very good actually. No questions asked and they spent considerable time and money (parts) trying to solve. Ultimately they were able to solve some of the issues but not all.

        • Glad to hear that the customer service was good at least

    • I’ve got nothing but praise for my Fujitsu units

  • Out of interest, do you change the small apple catchine filter on your Lifestyle series every 3 months as per manufacturer recommendations?

    • Never changed the filter but have cleaned these regularly

      • The apple filter can't be cleaned…

    • Whats the tax on the filter?

      • Depends where you buy it. My installer wants $79.95 each

  • the cashback will be finished by 31/07, so get it quick!!!

keep in mind, the installation cost is more expensive than the unit……

  • The $618 shipping to the other side of Australia ate into the discount :/

  • How much space above do you need?

  • RELIABLE WARRANTY seems to be the "major factor" with all these units no matter the brand .
Been following all these split deals and the comments.

  • Any idea as to what it costs to install one of these?

    • Installing one at the moment in Melbourne. Quotes I have had $908, $849, $750. Back to back with wall bracket.

      • Good guys are charging $650 back to back in WA.

Cashies from experience are $500 to $550 but it has been a few years since I've had one installed.

        • $629 in Qld
