  • New to this. Do I need any sensors to hook up to Apple TV and Zwift or can it pick it up off the trainer? (Kickr Core)

    • +2

These trainers already have all the sensors (power & cadence) built in and will work with the Apple TV/Zwift.
You'll need to add a cassette for the Kickr Core.

You might want to add a HR monitor if you don't already have one

  • I wouldn't mind the headwind fan but no deal on that!

    • +1

just wait for Pushy's usual 15% off sale

      • Yes ha one that 'includes' wahoo

        • +1

the 15% pushys don't exclude wahoo

          • @impoze: Ah i thought generally, garmin, gopro, continental and wahoo were usually excluded. will keep eye out next time.

    • +1

Spend your money on a decent fan, not a pokey overpriced gimmick.

      • I did look at other ones, really need at least a remote, but they were all pretty expensive so thought I'd just go the wahoo if I found a deal. what fans were you looking at?

        • For $450 you can nearly buy 3 of these. No remote but pushes enough wind that any sweat you produce gets blown away from your bike.

          • @petal666: yea need remote and not pedestal unfortunately

            • +1

@pussa: you could use a wifi plug

              • @impoze: good idea, that will help until I find a deal on the headwind.

          • @petal666: I've got an industrial fan I only pull out for FTP tests and particularly hard workouts. Otherwise I use this which gets the job done

            • @funk44: that looks good, comparable to a vornado?

              • @impoze: No idea, but it blows enough air on me so I don't end up disgusting but the end of the 2nd set of intervals and is portable enough to hide away easily. I also have it connected to a wifi plug so I turn it on after I warm up

i got the headwind with my kickr core as a bundle from marketplace.

It's a great fan and the automatic speed adjustment using HR is quite useful, but yeah I wouldn't buy it at full price on its own.

      • i've got the arlec wifi fan. it's ok. but the plastic blades make it a bit weak in terms of air speed
i think a vornado like this would be worth a look

  • anyone can recommend a bike that works with this? A budget-wise small one would be great.

Got a second hand but it's too big and my leg is not long enough so not very comfy.

    • hit up facebook marketplace for some second hand bikes.

It doesn't even need a rear wheel since it will just live on the trainer.

Just make sure to find a suitable size.

    • +1

Just make sure it's at least an 8 speed cassette, and even with the 8 you'll need a hub spacer, which they include with new kickr core but not the refurbished.
Your local bike shop should be able to give you one for free or very low cost.
