    Waiting for @WookieMonster 🙏

    • +29

I’m here! I was busy chomping on cookies for breakfast…

Looks like I missed the start of the party!

      • +2

Yeah, I think Mr BG couldn't wait & updated the post already +1 either way

  • Question:
I'm looking at getting the LG C2 65".

If I bundle that with a cheap soundbar and apply JB's extra 10% off code, it comes to $3388.

Can I purchase and use 3x $1000 gift cards from this deal when purchasing from JB in one transaction?

    • +1

There’s click frenzy @JB for 10% off ,no need to bundle.

    • +7

If you are purchasing in-store, you can redeem 3x $1,000 Ultimate eGift Cards in one transaction. (Heck, someone once redeemed 81 TCN/Ultimate gift cards in one transaction.)

If you are purchasing online, you can only redeem 1x Ultimate eGift Card, but you can redeem it in conjunction with an unlimited number of JB Hi-Fi gift cards. You’ll have to get creative if you want to redeem $3,000 in Ultimate eGift Cards.

      • this is egift card so you will have to add 30x to Google Pay/ Apple Pay and that process takes quite a bit of time to do.

        • That would be true if the commenter was looking to spend $30,000 at JB Hi-Fi. Actually, there would be bigger problems, as the maximum number of cards you can have stored on Apple Pay is 16 (on iOS 15) or 12 (on iOS 14 and earlier). I’m not sure what the limits are for Google Wallet or Samsung Pay, but it’s probably similar.

Considering the commenter only wants to spend $3388, they could get Ultimate eGift Cards in $1,000 denominations (which is the maximum denomination available through this deal), which reduces the number of eGift Cards they need to three (or four, if they want to get a $388 Ultimate eGift Card as well).

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Oh, then it is good to know. I didn't know that you can get custom denomination 😉

    • Ditch the cheap soundbar

      • +1

Adding it makes the TV itself cheaper though. It's not for the soundbar itself

        • +1

You can always return it back to JB as a change of mind

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Well it was complex, but managed to triple stack the discounts and now have a soundbar to return/offload. What an adventure!

            • @Faro: Haha I relate to your adventure. I triple stacked the 10% off discount plus cashback as well. It was stressful but what a deal.

            • @Faro: @Ninternet, Appreciate if could you elaborate on this. Would be useful when we have this deal next time around, thx

              • +1

@binaryb: I think Ninternet tripe stack with these promos:

                • Click Frenzy 10% off
                • Add a soundbar with any TV for additional 10% off
                • Use Ultimate Home/Teens gift cards to pay it off
      • Samsung is having cashback promotion with many TV but you need to buy a soundbar together with the TV to claim.

        • even a basic soundbar makes movie watching so much better

  • Is it possible to buy Apple Gift Cards in store at JB Hi-Fi and pay using JB Hi-Fi gift cards that are redeemed from this deal? If so, then this is effectively 10% off Apple Gift Cards like the deal yesterday?

    • +1

Yup, I did it with the physical Ultimate gift card when Coles ran the 10% off prepaid Mastercard and Woolies with the 20x everyday rewards pts and I went to JB to redeem it

      • Can this be done in store with e-gift card version?

        • Yes, as long as you have added the Ultimate eGift Card to a mobile wallet beforehand (Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Samsung Pay).

          • @WookieMonster: Are you able to pay for apple gift cards with the Ultimate egift card teen that is added to apple pay or must i change to jb hi fi card?

            • +1

@Mooncakes: You can pay for an Apple gift card using the Ultimate eGift Card at JB Hi-Fi. Just tell the staff member you'd like to pay via card, then use the Ultimate eGift Card just like any bank card saved in Apple Pay.

I think it's a bad idea to try to pay for an Apple gift card using a JB Hi-Fi gift card at JB Hi-Fi, because from my recent experience, some staff think that is against the gift card’s terms and conditions (which is not true, but I can see why some staff believe that is the case).

        • Yes, you’ve to download the myprepaid app and add it to your Apple/Samsung wallet

I did it when Amazon ran the promotional credit and bought some physical TGG gift cards in store

      • Thanks, waiting to stack with the Cashrewards uncapped Apple cashback when it comes on next

        • How often does that happen, coz everyone I see it's $100 cap

      • Hi bargainsgrabber, I bought a few physical Ultimate gift cards from Woolies a while ago and would like to purchase an item for $190 and each of my giftcard is $100, can I simply exchange 2 ultimate giftcards to TGG gift cards and use 2 giftcards?
Or the gift card value has to be higher than the item I am planning to buy? Thanks for your help!

        • +1

Hey mate, happy to answer :)

You don’t need to exchange it into TGG gift cards since they’re a physical copy of the Ultimate gift cards

Just head into TGG and use two of your physical Ultimate gift cards and there’ll be a leftover balance of $10 (which can be used at any of the other participating retailers from the gift card)

          Enjoy!

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Do you know Is the 15% TGG also apply instore or just online?
BTW, thanks for your quick reply!!

            • @JCRALLYART: The TGG deal posted by pricebeat says TGG online :)

              • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks. If that's the case, I may have to exchange the Ultimate gift card to TGG as only this way I can use 2 cards to buy (otherwise, I think it will treat it as a master prepaid card so the card has to have more $ than the item cost.

                • @JCRALLYART: No worries! Enjoy your purchase :)

For reference if anyone’s curious: I bought around $150 of Ultimate Home e-gift cards from Amazon and exchanged it for $150 of physical TGG gift cards in store

                  • +1

@BargainsGrabber: I realised there is no TGG or JB gift card to exchange. Luckily the store nearby have stock and they are happy to apply the same 15% discount and I just pay with mutliple gift cards. Cheers

                    • @JCRALLYART: Hi bro, just a quick question, can I use home gift card to purchase items on the good guys website? Because I’ve tried to type my gif card number in the gif card section and it didn’t work. So what should I do?

                      • +1

@firetree: These Ultimate eGift cards are actually a prepaid Visa card. You would need the exact amount to be able to fully purchase a product (ie one eGift card only)

If you’re referring to the MacBook deal that I posted, you wouldn’t be able to use these online. Suggestions are:

                        • convert all of your Ultimate Home gift cards into one TGG gift card in store; or
                        • Pay ~$800 in TGG gift card by buying it from ShopBack and redeem your $1000 Ultimate Home eGift card (max per card allowed is $1000)

@WookieMonster has the extensive gift card knowledge on OzBargain :)

                        • @BargainsGrabber: Thanks for the info! about to put the trigger to buy 2x1000 cards + my visa card but just thought to check first and here we are..
can you elaborate a bit on how to do the convertion? do I just drop by any TGG store and they should know how this shall be done?
                          Thanks!

                          • +1

@Zachguan: Yup, I did it last month but another more recent comment on this thread said otherwise:
                            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12464555/redir

So went in to TGG today to get it sorted, you can no longer use these cards at the terminals as they have tap only and cards over $200 do not work. They DO NOT accept multiple gift cards anymore to my frustration and we ended up having to get them to send the purchase to my phone and for me to pay online with the card. Just an FYI for future purchases.

                            • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks so much mate, for your continuous effort helping up with newbies like me in the community!

@Zachguan: No worries, happy to help :)

                                • @BargainsGrabber: I just followed the guide precisely and now I got my 2 x 1000 cards on apple wallet, ready to drop in the store.

@BargainsGrabber: bought the macbook pro 13 m2 512G just now.
                                  RRP is 2299
                                  10% from TGG: 2069
bought 2x1000 for 1800; plus my own visa 69. so total cost is 1869
                                  saving is 430
                                  thanks again.

                        • @BargainsGrabber: Thanks heaps for your great reply, I will go and change them to TGG g/c tomorrow in store

                          • @firetree: Someone in the comments here had problems but eventually they allowed. See the above reply :)

                          • @firetree: Just keep in mind that it is against TGG policy to use a TCN or Ultimate gift card to pay for a TGG gift card.

However, if you only tell staff you want to use a card as a payment method, tap your mobile wallet against the EFTPOS terminal, select Credit and enter the correct PIN for the card (assuming the EFTPOS machine will ask for the last two), you should be fine. Don't say anything about wanting to pay by gift card, as you'll confuse staff.

Having said that, if staff insist that you cannot use an Ultimate gift card to pay for a TGG gift card, you won't really have any recourse.

    • +1

      Yes, I converted around $1700.

    • +1

you can buy whatever apple products in jb and jb is much easier to price match than apple store

    • What other gift cards can be bought in JB-HI-FI? The site only lists Xbox, PSN, and Kobo cards

      • +2

It depends on what your local JB Hi-Fi store stocks, but I remember seeing the following gift cards at my local JB Hi-Fi store about a month ago (and this is based off memory, so I would advise you to call your local store and ask them what they currently stock):

        • Apple
        • iTunes (yes, that’s not a typo)
        • Google Play
        • PlayStation
        • Xbox
        • Stan
        • Steam
        • Roblox
    • Yes though the last time I did that at JB they gave me a lot of shit. I won't be doing that again =/

    • Can verify I did it today! According to my JB they don’t do $500 variable cards so had to stack up on $200 ones.

  • +1

Thanks OP do you have to login can't find where to enter code?

I am not logged in to Giftz.com.au, but I can add the promo code to the cart.

      • Add a gift card to the cart.
      • On the cart screen, select Proceed To Checkout
      • Scroll down the page and you’ll see a section under the Checkout/Checkout As Guest for Promo Codes. Enter the code there.

I wasn’t logged in on Giftz but there’s an option to checkout as guest too

  • nice one bg

  • Heads up that the Active card does not include Nike. The link and picture says nike, but if you follow the purchase process, it does not have Nike as a retailer in the purchase screen. So if you want Nike, choose Teen or Style.

    • That’s interesting.

The Ultimate gift card page for the Active gift card lists Nike as the participating retailer.

Considering the (physical) Ultimate gift cards use that page as the source of truth for the list of participating retailers, I would argue that the Active gift card includes Nike.

I obviously don’t have an Active gift card on hand, so I cannot test it to see whether it actually works at Nike, but I would believe the Ultimate gift card page more than the Giftz.com.au page.

      • +1

Yep, fair. But check out the purchase page, Nike is not listed. Ok for the other two (teen and style). Minor issue but if you were looking for a nike (in-store purchase) then it would suck.

        • Fair enough, it doesn’t hurt to be on the safe side!

  • +1

Where does the promo code go?

      • Add a gift card to the cart.
      • On the cart screen, select Proceed To Checkout
      • Scroll down the page and you’ll see a section under the Checkout/Checkout As Guest for Promo Codes. Enter the code there.
      • Appreciate the instructions, however for the life of me I can’t find anywhere to insert a promo code.. must be getting old or something

        • +1

Some of the links are for site "buy.ultimategiftcards.com.au', but you need to be on site "https://giftz.com.au".
Not sure what the go is, they look like sister sites, but on only 1 of them you can use coupons.

          • @solidsnek: Just worked this out right before reading this, yep that’s what I had accidentally done!

  • +4

How long does the gift card take to get emailed through?

    • I finally took a chance and bought one and it came through within 5 minutes.

Although T&Cs state "usually within 12 hours but can take up to 48hours"

  • Can I buy 3 $1000 Jb-/hifi gift cards and use it in one transaction? Looking to buy a fridge :)

    • Ask the store to split payment

    • +3

The gift cards in this deal are Ultimate eGift Cards, not JB Hi-Fi gift cards. That is a very important difference (as you’ll soon see).

      • (Heck, someone once redeemed 81 TCN/Ultimate gift cards in one transaction.)

Is that reason why it is now limited to only

3x $1,000 Ultimate eGift Cards in one transaction. ??

        • +1

Nah, I only mention 3x $1,000, because $1,000 is the largest denomination of the Ultimate eGift Cards in this deal.

It is also so much faster and easier for everyone if you redeem 3x Ultimate gift cards when compared with 30x Ultimate gift cards.

    • Just to add to the other comments - a workaround if looking to purchase online is to buy $500 JB HiFi Gift cards with your Ultimate Gift card. There's then no limit on how many $500 JB HiFi gift cards you can apply to an online transaction (I recently purchased a ~$3800 item using this method).

  • can i combine the JB gift cards with the $20 perks? also looking for a code if anyone has one!

    • Use the 10% code instead! otherwise I have a code you can use.

      • oh can you only use one or the other?

can I please get the code? :) Pm me please

        • Yep one or the other AFAIK, as they are both "coupons"

  • Damn code place just not there for me😢. Search for word promo on page even and only find Yes! Please email me with news and promotions

  • +1

Nandos Meals is taken care of for next few months

  • Can the gift card be used on the Good Guys commercial website?

  • Oh shit are these not swap cards? I think doweyys comment in the JB Hifi thread said they are

    • It still is. Buy the e-gift card from Giftz, add it to your mobile wallet and head to JB store to redeem it

      • Yep I'll just go in-store later. That works, cheers.

      • So I cant redeem online at jb?

        • You can, see the reply from WookieMonster one comment below this

    • @doweyy was confused. They thought these gift cards were TCN gift cards (which are currently swappable for JB Hi-Fi gift cards through TCN).

The gift cards in this deal are not swappable for JB Hi-Fi gift cards through Blackhawk Network (and it has been non-swappable since at least late November 2021). If you really want to convert your Ultimate gift card into a JB Hi-Fi gift card, you’ll need to get creative.

      • +1

Thanks Wookie, went in store to redeem and it was easy to split payment.
Will definitely read better next time.

  • Does anyone know if you can stack the under armour codes from this deal with CashRewards from this deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/715064

I can see in CashReward's T&Cs that it says the following:

You may not be eligible for Cashback:
If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

    'may not'?
