    I'm sad this isn't $349

    • +3

If you want to pay $349, you only get the lower quality Gigabyte Eagle model. I rather pay $50 more for this Asus model.

What makes this worth $50 more? Genuinely curious, as in my mind 6600xt is 6600xt.

        • +3

Obviously some variants may have cooling issues, or slight factory overclocks. But there's not $50 difference here

          • +1

@scottySK: Also even if the cheaper models have worse heatsinks, the 6600xt is very efficient and doesn't use much power. So likely not a big deal, I agree not worth $50 extra

      • Ideally the eagle-ventus should be $310-$320, the asus dual/msi mech $330-$335, xfx swft/powercolor fighter $340 etc

      • Why is the eagle a lower quality model? Gigabyte has always been on par with asus.

have owned both the eagle and the dual, the dual is definitely better, but it's not worth $50 more.

    • In what way?

      • It runs marginally quieter and its shorter, which is better for some small form factor cases. To be honest, I'd rather the Eagle as a general rule because it's a true dual slot card.

    • yep, these low end GPUs i wouldnt worry too much about the brand/model. they all perform the same just buy the cheapest.

      • The better 6600xt's are silent when gaming. I just bought the rubbish Eagle model, if it's loud during gaming I will have to undervolt

    HODL more deals will come.

I can't believe 3 members here negged/censored your comment. For pointing out their current cards (they paid a lot of money for) could soon become obsolete and tank further in value.

People here have the right to know the 7600xt could be released as soon as October this year. Unethical members need to stop negging/censoring comments they perceive as a threat to consumer demand.

These sub $400 listings are an easy little upgrade for anyone still sitting on their 1060/1070 etc as they still seem to fetch decent prices on the used market

  • Pulled the trigger on this. Chose this over the RX6700XT deal that's currently going as, for the foreseeable future, will continue to run an i7-6700 system so I don't want to bottle-neck the RX6700XT too much with my CPU. Also my GTX1060 was struggling a bit after purchasing the Dell S3422DWG (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/714462) recently. Will hand down the GTX1060 to a spare PC and sell off a spare GTX970 I've got lying around.

My previous PC from 6 years ago is also running i7-6700K but with GTX1070, bought the same Dell S3422DWG monitor earlier this year and the PC couldn’t fully utilise this monitor feature. Built a new PC in March with i5-12600K and RTX3080, now the games fly on the monitor.
