    Here we go again

    • +7

      Where are we going?

  • How do we get Turkish Apple TV on Google TV?

    • +1

Download Apple TV app and then sign in with your Turkish Apple ID

  • +1

Sweet. I will give it a go. Maybe we need to have a page set up with all the Turkish deals in one spot

    • +1

Mods can make a tag like “Turkish method” and tag all deals.

      • -3

Any deals on Turkish prisons? Asking for Joey.

  • Sorry if this is a dumb question PB - could I also use this method to sign up with Turkish Apple ID, then use it to sign into my physical Apple TV, pay for cheap Apple TV Plus somehow? And then also have all my regular apps like Netflix, Stan etc still working?

    • +3

Apple TV allows you to sign in to a few different accounts at the same time. You can have apps from any country running at the same time, even if you are using it with secondary account. Apple TV Plus is not available in Turkey at the moment. But you can buy and rent movies via Apple TV App.

Follow this guide to sign in with your Turkish ID as a second ID on your Apple TV.

I also use a UK Apple ID to download and watch BBC iPlayer on Apple TV using DNS.

    • Why go through so much trouble when you could just BT

      • Have been a set and forget method for me. I have apps running from about 5 different countries. Mostly free or at quarter the price of what we pay in AU.

      • +1

        BT?

        • +3

          I think they mean bittorrent

  • +3

Is there way to get Spotify from Turkey?

    • Yes please

    • +1

I think Apple Music is doable using this same method and is a better value with Dolby Atmos, Lossless and Spatial Audio included.

Individual membership is TRY₺19.99 (~A$1.63) per month.

      Cons will be;
You can’t use it on same iPhone/iPad as your primary Apple ID.
For family membership everyone will have to have a Turkish Apple ID as it can not be family shared to AU Apple ID.

      • Would changing my main Apple ID to Turkey be a problem?

        • +1

Only that some Apple Services aren’t available in Turkey (like Apple One, Apple TV+ and may be more). Family sharing with AU accounts won’t work.

Also some Australian apps won’t be available on Turkish store. If you got some credit on your Turkish account, then you won’t be able to change region back to Australia, unless you finish that credit.

          • @Pricebeat: Thanks, in that case I’ll stick with your method of creating secondary accounts for other countries.

Keen to see if some apps are cheaper in the Turkish App Store too.

            • +2

@toasty: Yeah app prices are cheaper as well. You can sign in to App store with Turkish Apple ID to buy apps and can then sign back in to your primary Apple ID. Only thing is, you will have to change back to Turkish ID to update the apps bought with Turkish ID.

  • Does this get apple tv+ ?

    • +1

Nope, Apple TV Plus isn’t available in Turkey. This is for buying or renting movies via Apple TV app.

      • ok, thanks

Let me know when we next hit Mexico.

    • Why are we hitting Mexico? What did they do to deserve that?

  • I don’t see where to enter a Turkish address on the appleid page, it just records the country as turkey?

    • +1

      Updated description.

After logging into your Turkish Apple ID on a browser, go to this link.

      • Yes, but where on that page can you enter an address? I am being prompted for an address now I’ve added my code to App Store though.

        • +1

Address can only be entered after creating Apple ID and by going to the link I posted above. You need to be logged in before visiting the link to see the address section

  • Does turkey generally have a limited movie selection? Everything everywhere all at once doesn’t seem to be there, and wondered how common that is.

  • I was also wondering about whether you can set it up so you can purchase things on your Turkish account on the Apple TV device, and share those purchases to your family group on their iPads etc?

But the way Apple tells it, all purchases have to be billed to the organiser account, so not sure how that would work: "When you set up Family Sharing, you and up to five family members can share iTunes Store, App Store, Apple Books, and Apple TV purchases. When your family shares App Store, music, movie, TV, and book purchases, all items are billed directly to the family organizer’s Apple ID account. Adult and teen family members can turn off purchase sharing for themselves." (https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/iphone/iph4cd8953e2/io…)

And if you turn off purchase sharing, I gather you don't have access to the other account…

    • +1

nah that wouldn't work. Only purchases which are in the same country as the organiser are shared among the family. Like in my Family Sharing Group the organising account is US and owns Spiderman No Way Home. Any Family members set to USA will see it and will also be able to share movies they own with others. But any members from AU in the American family group will not be able to share amongst themselves.

  • Is there any way to the see what's available without creating a Turkish account and providing a mobile number?

    • +1

Download JustWatch app and set the country to Turkey.

If you have an Apple ID, they already have your number. You can use the same number for other IDs

      • Thanks for the link and info. I'm not familiar with the Apple ecosystem so trying to decide if this is a opportunity to be rid of my physical Blu-ray collection without breaking the bank!

        • All good. Not all movies are available on the Turkish store so just search on Just Watch app to see if the ones you want are available.

        • +1

Here’s another website that you can use
          https://www.cheapcharts.info/tr

  • Can you please help. I successfully created Turkish Apple ID account and purchased iTunes gift card 25 TRY on TurGame.com. My Australian card has been debited on 01/08/22 but my order was cancelled. I inquired multiple times why it was cancelled with a screenshot of my bank transfer payment, but turgame agent responded with same answer, "no information about the payment was found. Please check you bank. Please send the bank receipt or screenshot of the payment."
    I don't mind if I don't get refunded as it's only $2.15 but I feel that turgame.com is a scam.
Any suggestion for another website we can purchase itunes gift card in Turkey? Ive been excited to try my new Turkish Apple ID. Thank you.

    • Tried Seagm.com and code was delivered instantly. Avoid turgame.com as it is a scam.
Now I'm enjoying Apple TV 4K movies at 18.99 TRY or $1.52 AUD! Thank OP!

      • +1

Bought 7x 50TRY cards off Turgame yesterday to use Pricebeat's (OP) Disney Plus method using a debit card with no issues.

        • Well, you're lucky. I'm one of the unfortunate customers.Though I wasted only <$5 AUD dollars but I won't use that website anymore. Try at your own risk.

  • Trying to signup an account with Turgame but it wants a Turkish phone number.

How did you guys work around that or is this something new that they have added?

Tried seagm.com for an iTunes card (as mentioned above) but it was ridiculously expensive.

    • Asks for AU number when I signed up. Are you using Turkish VPN to access website? Try incognito window

  • How do I change the currency on Turgame to TL/TRY

    • On mobile website there is an option at the top of the page.

      • Sorry stupid chrome had a thing about cookies over it, sorry about that

        • Don’t be sorry, happy to help

      • when i go to pay it changes it back to euros

        • Choose option saying PAYTR

          • @Pricebeat: tried that kepp getting

            {"status":"failed","reason":"paytr_token not sent or invalid"}

tried on phone and seems to have wworked just waiting

  • I spent hours trying to get this to work on my Android tablet but with no luck!!!

I purchased a TL iTunes gift card from TurdGame and received it instantly in my email.

But whenever I try to redeem it the page just hangs forever and does nothing!

As a workaround I changed the page settings to desktop which allows me to enter the gift card number but nothing happens…

Either I have been sold a dud gift card or this deal no longer works!!!

    • Try redeeming gift cards via Apple Music app. The deal works and was intended for iOS users.

      • I also tried using the app but it wants me to sign up and pay for an Apple Music subscription.

Also when I have the app open, I can't seem to find the option to let me enter my gift card code…

        • What about iTunes on desktop? Otherwise sign in on media and purchases of a friend’s iPhone and redeem there. They won’t have to sign out entire id. Just media and purchases. Will take about 5 minutes to redeem.

          • @Pricebeat: Okay thanks, will give it a try…

Thanks very much for your help!

          • @Pricebeat: I just tried doing iTunes on desktop but sadly no luck!

Might try a friend's iPhone some time.

Just out of curiosity, will this workaround work if I enter my credit card details?

My account and address is located in Turkey or will the system automatically detect my credit cards country of origin and charge me accordingly?

            • @Gigrantor: It doesn’t accept AU cards.

What error did you get on iTunes?

              • @Pricebeat: Whenever I attempt to redeem a card, the below page opens and hangs forever on an almost blank page with the word "Connecting"

                https://itunes.apple.com/deeplink?app=Music&p=redeem&code=&r…

                • @Gigrantor: I opened it and it’s the pop up page where you redeem gift cards. You are not using any content or pop up blocker etc. on your network?

                  • @Pricebeat: Not that I'm aware of.

The only way that I can get the page to work is to open it it in desktop mode which gives me the option to enter the gift card code but nothing happens, it doesn't tell me if it's been accepted or rejected.
