  • has anyone tried it?

    • nope, sounds good, i'm just afraid it will be bulky.

I dont enjoy extracting rar's when they take long though

  • Thanks for the free software, giving it a shot now!…..

18.4 Mb download, needs email address to send the registration to, I used mailinator no worries.

  • I've used the trial before, I think it's really good software. Just not worth $20 just to compress and extract stuff. That's what's 7-zips for because it's free. Now it's free I may as well get myself a license :)

different mentality towards free software… to me, i support open source because everyone can audit the source code so that there's no funky business going on. I personally wouldn't use this software.

however, a good deal is a good deal. so +1 from me.

  • Why bother when Filezillar is free.

  • Nice find…

But the real OMG is on that same site, $7.50 for Display Fusion Pro!!! I love this multi monitor software and for $7.50, its a STEAL!

      • That's such a cool site.. it even gives you a heads up as to what sort of DRM is included.. ie, serial, online activation, hardware hash, etc.. thanks champ :)

      • LogFusion offers itself for $5 when you buy Display Fusion Pro (Home).

    Highly recommended for everyone.

I've been using PowerArchiver since around 2003. I have never needed any other software for archive files since.
I like them so much that I purchased 5 licenses of their lift time upgrade license, I've even purchase extra Toolbox version just to show my support.

The only thing I disagree with the company is their new direction of trying to be more than an archive program and includes FTP client, Backup & Burner software all in one package. Reminds me of the good old ACDSee…

They have constant updates to improve speeds and file sizes, etc…

I am definitely one of their so called "tens of millions of satisfied customers around the globe"

    • OMG ACDSee was amazing.

And to think all we have these days is stuff like Irfanview.

      • Try FastStone Image Viewer. There are a few cool things about it,
        - Thumbnail views like ACDSee
        - Lossless jpeg rotate for free
        - Context menus. When you touch the each side of the screen, a different context menu appears

It's my favourite image viewer these days :)

        DeWalt

    • Sounds like Nero Burning Rom which WAS just compact and effective. Now it seems too sluggish but I understand why they changed the direction.

      • they had to add more features to be 1-up of quality free open source ones like imgburn.

        can't blame them.

  • heaps of free zippers out there like izarc, freearc, 7zip etc etc

no need to pay or reg. or any of that nonsense

    • 7zip is great and simple to use. I especially like the dual pane view which let's you wrangle with 2 different folders at once.

It could be better though, like the ability to rename or delete files inside the zip. It also has quite a few bugs which unfortunately is still not yet fixed with the latest version.

  • gonna try this cuz it's free and I like adventures.

  • I tried this app and it wasn't for me. Super slow to install, sluggish on my laptop, and it took an incredibly long time to preview jpegs from inside rars. Winrar doesn't have any trouble showing them immediately. Uninstall also took forever, and required a shutdown of Windows Explorer! Too bloated for me, but thanks for the post OP.
