posting random stuff from the Aldi catalogue is not a bargain…

      bargain is a bargain
good price but 200w is pretty weak, motor could easily get burnt out, i doubt its good enough for doughs, probably only good for egg whites and light batter

why dont u combine ur posts ??

    • because they want to do a separate post for every item in the Aldi catalogue and not justify why it is a bargain…

      • hey jv show us a cheaper value for money stand mixer and then we see which one is really a bargain

    Locks in upright position

That's a shame, hope it can get repaired…

  • I bought one of these a year or so ago and returned it. The bowl doesn't lock in position so it spins unless you hold it still. The idea of these things is that you can turn it on and not touch it. Unless they have changed the design, it not worth it IMO.

    • I bought one of these a year or so ago and returned it

I think I've returned just about everything electrical that I've ever bought from Aldi…

Not sure how they can stay in business when they keep selling cheap junk…

      • Not sure how they can stay in business when they keep selling cheap junkā€¦

Because a lot of us can't be bothered returning the junk so we just throw it out instead.

      • I remember years ago when they first opened we bought cheap bikes from aldi.
        3 of us.

Every. Single. Bike. Had to be returned for various defects (brakes completely screwed on 1, cracked headset on another, can't remember what was wrong with third one).

So if its anything useful/electrical I steer well clear of Aldi.

  • $25 for an egg and cake mixer like thing -Is that cheap or expensive…

    • Not very knowledgeable with prices of kitchen appliances but it seems to be fairly cheap considering it's 5-speed, is detachable and comes with a bowl and hooks/beaters. Other hand-held only 5-speed mixers are anywhere from $50-$100.

  • Is it cheap cause of its quality? or does Aldi just roll that way

    • +1

Bit of both. I bought a stick mixer thing from Aldi for $19, you see the exact same thing with a different brand on it in the Target catalogue for $49 marked down from $79. I did also get an Aldi toaster that died trying to cook the first piece of toast.

      • +1, the stick mixer from Aldi is great value. might not be the best around, but it does the job.

Aldi appliances/tools are alright. You just have to use some common sense when deciding whether to buy. You know if a motor in't powerful enough to do the job you want it to do, you can tell if something is shoddily constructed or a mechanism is wobbly and has too much range of motion. Just look at the thing before you buy it and have a think about whether it'll do the job or how long it's likely to last and whether it's worth the money.

      • I did also get an Aldi toaster that died trying to cook the first piece of toast.

Haha that says a lot about Aldi's QC doesn't it. Ah well, hope you went back and yelled at them!

  • I've found some electrical products from Aldi to be a bit hit and miss, but I have one of these and it works quite fine. I have no complaints with it. I don't use it for dough though, so can't comment on how well it would handle it.

This is by far the cheapest stand-type mixer around, and if I didn't already have one would be grateful for it being pointed out.

    • Agreed.

Use it, find it's crap, take it back.
