Not sure whether it supports W11 upgrade. Decent price for admin tasks. Refurbished Grade A.

$309… cpu is 25% faster than this one but 3 times the price.
I was going to say the CPU does media encoding/decoding for HEVC better. But you'd probably go for embedded system like amazon firestick or CCwGT
I think it needs to be 8th gen to officially support Win 11?
Not sure tbh. Haven't looked into it. I guess not much of a deal then.
As long as the tpm is 2.0 that's really what matters
Even if it has tpm 2.0 it won't get updates since 7th Gen isn't officially supported
Nope, not all TPM 2.0 supported. Tried E3-1270v5 (think equivalent to gen7 Core) and updated to TPM 2.0, still not officially supported.
Ah ok thanks 👍
If it runs Win10 you can run Win11 with one side warning

Plenty of videos on YouTube showing Win Updates still working on systems using this Regfix
Installing Windows 11 on a device that does not meet Windows 11 minimum system requirements is not recommended. If you choose to install Windows 11 on ineligible hardware, you should be comfortable assuming the risk of running into compatibility issues.
7th gen does not support W11 officially.
3 months warranty is a bummer Amazon gives 12 months
Not sure whether it supports W11 upgrade.

meh.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706471 is more what an OzBer pays for these specs. This one is portrait. The one in your link is landscape.
The price seems high compared to ebay sellers…
This is COTD though, not ebay…
You can make a hacked w11 install without the checks that works perfectly if windows is your jam. Me, I like OSX & Linux as both run my apps now, aside from adobe apps on Linux alas
As noted above 7th gen CPUs don’t official support W11, therefore there is no advantage in buying this over an older 4th or 6th gen CPU. For example this HP G1 with a 4th gen i7 (4 core 8 thread) is slightly faster than this 7th gen i5 (4 core 4 thread), but costs $190 with free delivery and 1 year warranty, there are plenty of cheaper similar or better performing used computers on eBay.
P.S: The one I linked above has a 120GB SSD, but 250GB SSDs are dirt cheap, you can find them for less than $40. So even if you buy a new SSD you are still spending less, getting more space and a longer warranty.OP's PC is newer, smaller footprint, & USB-C is a reason to buy. M$ should be class-actioned for forcing millions of PC's into landfills which CAN run 11, but M$ wants to sell more and doesn't bear the brunt of the PC's piling to the sky, do they?
smaller footprint, & USB-C
HP G1 I linked above is also a SFF only marginally larger than the Optiplex. The USB C port on 7050 is USB 3.0, despite having a USB C shaped physical connector it doesn't support USB 3.1, DisplayPort over USB, or Thunderbolt. HP G1 have USB3.0 (Type A) connectors, you can plug in any USB C data device using a $5 USB A to C adapter.

MS is not forcing you to run Windows 11. Windows 10 is officially supported until Oct 2025 or you can use Linux. Windows only accounts for 16% of their total revenue, they make most of their money from cloud services, server solutions and office. Its not about selling more copies of Windows licenses, if they did then they wouldn't have made it a free upgrade for older windows versions, would they ?
