Depends what you want it for. Ipads are still better when it comes to mobile games (better supported by the devs). But let's be real, even the best mobile games are just micro transactions and time gated money grabs (Genshin, diablo immoral).
If you're just gonna do youtube and browsers, honestly don't think either one does better than the other.
As mentioned by others these tabs are good for emulators. I'm running arcade, game cube and PS2 emulator on my S8 ultra. Runs it fine and can even upscale.
Bought this from the Samsung Gov EPP store recently and its smooth as butter. It just works so well for everything. Dex mode is way more refined than when I had my tab s6. It's such a good tab
Gee tablets have gone up in price! Android tablets were traditionally much cheaper than their iPad counterparts.
The iPad Pro with 5G is $1899, this is $500 cheaper which is still fairly substantial.

Can't say i'm familiar with those devices, but are you saying their specs are equal to or better than this S8+ 5G device at a similar price point?

it is not always easy to say spec for spec it is better or worse
since ipads tend to be able to do function quite smoothly with less ram etc..
What these tablets have though is the M1 chip which is suppose to be the fastest chips in any tablets currently, until M2 chip ipads come out

I just choose which devices I think is best value for money and what it offers..
For android phones, the prices are quite competitive and much cheaper than iphones
Problem with this android tablet is that it is not that cheap compared to the ipad alternatives listed.. which also has 256 GB storage, and one has cell as well..
it makes it harder to go android unless you really need/want to do it..
Also android tablet has known issues with apps on the tablet not looking right or taking full advantage of the tablet screen size.
There was some comparison with apps on android tablet vs on ipad which showed this problem.
@pinkybrain: I dont have an iPad to compare with, i only have an S7+ 5G along with a bunch of older tablets. But the Samsung seems to win out on almost everything like screen resolution, screen size, SD card support, sound, faster charging, it comes with a pen (which appears to be another $200 for iPad) etc.
I've never had any issues with apps on Android tablets, but as i mentioned i dont have the S8+ so maybe it's different but i dont think so. I did have many issues with Android apps on the Duet 5 8GB Chromebook, i did not like that device at all.
I'm not pro Apple or Android either, i'll give any OS on any hardware a shot. But i just haven't bought a iPad in years because the sums didn't add up for me.

This is a very premium tablet for people in the Samsung/Android ecosystem, this is equivalent to like iPad Pro in terms of quality and features.
Personally I love my Galaxy Tab S8+ tablets, easily my favourite device to consume media on and its good for light productivity work.
