This is a bit bigger and has page turn buttons tho
Kobo also can connect to local libraries and Pocket for reading articles tho
and can display epubs without conversion, and navigate to libgen via the in-built browser
Same price for the white too https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=B09HSRLQVX+%7C+B09HSRGZRL
wonder why this aint getting a lot of upvotes compared to the previous deal. i bought one i thought it was a new low price of this.
Because there's a lot more bargains to sift through
Damn… I really wanted the black one of this, but only white left now.
Wonder if black will restock…
Yeah, I don't want white either. No one else does, hence in stock ;)
I ended up getting one for $249 at JB instead.
$30 extra was worth it to get the colour I wanted.
Loving it so far.
Nice.
I have a Glo HD - but wouldn't mind the buttons.
Finally bit the bullet. My first eReader. Hope I use it!!!
Hope you enjoy it! You made a good choice getting one with the buttons on the side. I'm still using a cheaper "Nia" and I wish I'd spent the extra bucks for one of these. Being the cheapskate I am, I won't switch until the old one dies probably!
Bit funny that Amazon is selling a competing product. I need to get back to using my kindle PW, barely used it this year.
You know the saying…
Keep your friends close and your enemies…closer…
Only white available now
Just received mine and here are my first impressions :
Pros :
Looks nice and feels very comfortable in the hand. Much prefer this over my old 6'' paperwhite
32gb storage and USB-C is nice touch if you're upgrading from old ereader like I am.
Screen is very nice + adjustable warm light is great
Fairly easy to setup + home screen is very clean with no ads
Can read ePubs I had downloaded with a direct transfer. Although some were protected by this adobe copyright thing and I had to use calibre to transfer which removed it
Cons:
This is so unbelievably slow compared to my old paperwhite which is not few years only older but costed half as much. It also keeps freezing if I try and do something too quickly
File transfers from desktop are also much slower than the old Micro-USB paperwhite. Around 2mbps per second. Huge problem if you read comics/mangas.
My old kindle was also very slow when I first set it up, but after the initial setup it became very nice and snappy (as much as an ereader can be lol). At this rate if the kobo keeps doing this I'll have to get rid of it :/
Kindle PW signature is ~ $202 right now tho
