MSI MECH Radeon RX 6600 XT 2X 8G OC Graphics Card $439 + Delivery @ JW Computers

124

A very good 1080p card and pretty good at 1440p too from what I've heard. They perform somewhere between a NVidia 3060 and 3060 Ti the reviews say. Ray tracing support and performance may be a deal breaker for some though.

These MSIs seem to be a good solid card. Apparently this has a better cooler than the OCV1 version.
I'm tempted to send my Amazon one I purchased last week back but it would only save $20.

Delivery is $19.95 to Queensland.

not a terrible price but 399 has been common as of late - would still hodl for lower.

Not really a deal considering 6600XT has been $399 delivered + 3 free games at Mwave recently.

    • +4

AMD promo offers 2 games for the 6600x, Saints Row and Forsaken but no Sniper Elite 5.

Maybe just me but if I was buying a card at this end of the spectrum and this late in the generation, i'd go for the best price and you can still pick up Asrock for $395 from AusPCMarket or $399 from JW.

Low end cards are the last cards to be released, it’s not like the 7600xt and 4060 will be among the first to release, more like 18 months after 4080

      • More like Q1/Q2 next year. Current prices are so bleh I'll probably hodl for next gen

  • To expensive for 6600xt

Precisely what alternatives are there in the sub 400 price range that offer RT performance? Not really a deal breaker if there are none.

    • +3

      Why the neg?

There's nothing in the sub $500 price range that will offer RT performance, the cheapest 3060 I can see is $550. And that ignores that the 3060 is a terrible card. Despite offering better RT support there's only a few games you can actually turn RT on and get 60fps in at 1080p or 1440p with DLSS. It's a pretty terrible card and it's far better to spend a little bit more on the 3060ti.

Whereas if you ignore RT, then with RSR this card should offer solid 1080p or even 1440p gaming for a long time to come.

technically 3050 is "RTX" and sub 500, but yeah I won't bother mention it raw performance, let alone RT lol.

    • Nothing new and current gen from AMD nor Nvidia.

Second hand- you'd be looking at an RTX2060 or 2070: https://www.ebay.com.au/b/Graphics-Video-Cards/27386?Chipset…

  • I’m starting to find the expectation these will get any cheaper a bit ridiculous

You sound like a disgruntled retailer

      • -2

No I’m just someone who actually looked at last gen pricing

        • This is the last-gen equivalent of something like a 1660 super.
Also, this deal is ~$460 delivered, but the 6600 XT has already been $399 delivered plus two free games this week. So even if we presume ~$400 is the hard limit price floor, this is a bad deal.

          • -2

@iseeyou1312: its the last gen equivalent of a 2070 super

            • +1

              @Pugkin: Wouldn't that be the 6700xt..?

            • @Pugkin: What lol? This card is slower than the 2070 super. You do realise that there's generational improvements between GPUs right?

Anyway, you've got the 6400, which is a card that never should have been made like 1630. Then the 1650 super/1660 is equivalent to the 6500xt and the 1660 super is the 6600 and the 2060 is the 6600 XT.

But Turing and RDNA1 were never massively overproduced like Ampere and RDNA2 have been, so clearance sales of $300-350 on the 6600XT are likely. The 6600 has already been below $300 and Lovelace/RDNA3 aren't even announced yet.

    20% more expensive than June.

The only reason the OP could've posted this "deal" is if they're trying to collect negs. In that regard, I'm happy to help out!

  • Better cooler than the ocv1 is really not saying much…
