    Crucial p2… never

    • Sorry for newbie question. What is wrong with P2?

      • Terrible performance

        • how about compared to the Kingston NV1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive. What would you recommend

          • @FlamingoMonkey: Neither, spending the extra money on a proper drive with dram is worthwhile

          • +1

@FlamingoMonkey: Kingston NV1 is DRAMless also, not great as OS drive, can be OK for large storage drive (1TB/2TB) to store photos and videos that get accessed once in a while.
The lowest model for Kingston Nvme I'd buy is A2000

      • It's DRAMless, meaning no onboard buffer == slower random read/write performance

  • Anyone have anything to say about the P5 plus ssd’s?

    • Best value for money.

      • Is it better than the Samsung 980 pro 2tb which was $350 a few days ago

  • Surcharge if I remember.

    • You can pay by direct deposit to avoid the surcharge.

    MX500 500GB looks like a good price

Edit: if you can get the free delivery

  • I didn't know there was a 4tb mx500

    Hmmmmmmm, tempting

  • Which one for ps5?

    • +2

Crucial P5 Plus is the only Gen 4 NVMe. The others won’t work with PS5

    DDR5 Ram https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/crucial-ct16g48c40u5-…

    RRP $10,998.90 now $135.00 Now that's a good saving!!

  • annoyed that the standard p5 isn't a part of this

  • This P5 gonna work properly in a laptop? I heard it have thermal issue. Need extra cooling and space etc

    • +1

The P5 does get extremely hot (over 100C in sustained writes). WD SN570 is a decent drive and runs cool (under 60C) with no throttling. Kingston NV1 runs equally as cool but throttles very early at 60C which could be a good thing in a laptop so it avoids getting too hot.

  • P5 plus 1T seems OOS

p.s. I know the RRP is just marketing…. but why SE marked the P5 plus 1T RRP as $10,998.90
