  • 55% off isn't $119 saved, if price is $69

Or have I got it wrong?

  • Any idea of LPM. Nothing listed.

    • 85 lpm

Not only the first words of the description in the post, but also on the product page first line of description too from the link.

Long night shift taking its toll…..

        • Needs to spend more time reading.

  • Original price for 85L/m is terrible compared to regular prices on many others out there. Despite "Save $119" is only a good price. You can often get 150L/m for around $99 to $120. I'm thinking of getting these listed here as I find the 150L/m and 300L/m fill up too much space/weight in my 4x4 and the 35L/m cheapies I have take annoyingly long to do much. This one might be small enough to mount in my vehicle in a panel, engine bay or under a seat (possibly).

    NOPE!

These are oil free mini compressors.

A single cylinder working that hard gets HOT; it'll probably function admirably for a year or so, then the rings in the piston will wear out from overheating. It'll still work; so good luck with warranty, you'll just realise 'gee this is slow, is it slower than new?'

Always go a double piston in a mini compressor. It may be less power on paper; but thats because the motor needs to spin 50% slower to get the same number of compression strokes.

Thats the smarter choice for portable.

And if you think you need an inflation compressor at home; you never regret having better tools than you thought you needed. Spend the extra $25.

Oiled, with a bigger piston, and and a TINY tank that wont hold much; but is enough to make it shut-up between uses, without unplugging it.

    • Bunnings one weights 3kg and will die if used in 4wd. This 160L weights 9kg and will be fine. Also known as Thumper in 4wdsupacentre.

      • I agree but thumpers are huge and heavy. Add a car fridge in the back and there is a lot of space gone.

        • Yes, overkill for anyone except big 4wds, real heavy duty. But that is when it matters most.

          • @GlobalWorming: Actually on my big 4x4 I have use a $20 k-mart compressor and it did not die. Just took a while when reinflating to get back on sealed roads.

            • @ShipShapeRC: I decided to mount mine, behind the fridge. And while I had perfectly working 40 LPM Aldi one, got Thumper anyway, Im not doing mounting job twice :)
Plus it inflates super fast, 20 to 40 psi in 60sec, good if you're in a group. And I made a remote control cable with button.

    • Can get the double piston ones on ebay for $30ish

      • Thats not bad.

Hows the warranty? The 3year no questions swaps are the big seller for Ozito for me.

  • How big would I need to go for framing and finishing nailers?

    • Nailers actually use a shockingly large amount of air, for the simple task you imagine.

Its not a lot of air; just a lot for the imagined job.

Usually its recommended to aim for, 1.5hp delivering 2.5cfm.

Depending on how honest your compressor specs are; that will allow about 15-20 nails per minute.

    • My understanding is you need one with a tank to have the reserve to thump the pressure for air powered tools.

  • Genuine noob question - and I know, if I have to ask, I don't need it, but, to expand my knowledge… Apart from inflating car tyres, balls, etc, what else can I use this for? Car detailing? Cleaning something?

The bunnings one that MasterScythe posted looks good. But I need a use case to get one!
