Generally speaking my rule of thumb is around 100 points per dollar. That's not the best value you can get but I think it's a good mid point.
I thought it was close to $0.008/point on average?
$0.01 is good, mainly achieved through flights, you can get up to $0.04 I think by getting Business flight deals. $0.0065 I think is what you get for your non-sale gift card types, the 'worst' type to spend on but if you don't care about anything else, it is something back.
