  • Just use an assistant to do it. I can't imagine going as far as up to 15 cm away from the switch just to wave my hand at it.

    • Switches have their place, i've had the Phillips Hue 4 button switches over all the old light switches as well as motion sensors in many rooms for about 4 years. But the switches are more convenient at times.

      • Did you put you old switches inside the wall cavity an cover with the Philips? I haven't found my setup to be reliable enough for that.

Although I've just replaced my cc2351 with a zigstar and that seems to be significantly better, just not comfortable enough yet to hide my physical switches out of reach.

        • Yes, you can get a blank cover plate for your existing switch and put the Hue switch on it or beside it depending how your current light switches are orientated. Also i have mounted all the Hue switches upside down so the bottom button is on and top is off which mimics a normal light switch better.

I run Alexa and SmartThings for all the zigbee devices (over 100) and a lot of the automations. It's been really reliable for me, i cant recall when i last needed to use a regular light switch.
