    Shoutout to Dealbot’s Facebook group.

    https://m.facebook.com/groups/bestaussiemarkdowns/

    Well worth a join.

      • +22

lmao, imagine going on Facebook to get away from crap.

        • +5

More like to get referrals and make some $$$. Its an OzBargainers dream, and reality for some.

          • +4

@ATangk: On an unrelated topic, even YouTube and Facebook pay their content creators. So what if an Ozbargainer posts their referral on a deal they took their time to find and post. Why are people so against using someone’s referral who took their time to help them find a deal. If they post spam to earn referral then ban them. But helping someone by using their referral for finding and posting a genuine deal on Ozbargain should be the least we can do.

            • +2

@Pricebeat: Wouldn’t be suprise if people do tik tok and youtube shorts with bargains picks of the day. Once monetise. Pay a coder to create a bot that find deals. Redirects to your own platform and grow your brand. Will take some work and time to beat ozbargain though. There is no incentive or prize for users who contibute the most on this platform. Just fake internet points and charity donation for Tax minimisation on the owner and associates account.

            • @Pricebeat: Using their referral or using CR/SB to get some kickbacks. You can only choose one.

              • @ATangk: Not every store offers cashback and vice versa. Also sometimes referral can be higher than using cashback.

                • @Pricebeat: More than half the time its an affiliate link to ebay or Amazon…

                  • @ATangk: I am not talking about affiliate links in my original comment. I am talking more about referral codes and links for different websites and apps.

                    • @Pricebeat: Are you saying that we should only credit the poster on OzB and not use the random referral generator?

                      • @ATangk: No, I am saying, users should be able to list their referral link or code in description and their referral should display on their post next to the random referral generator like it used to.

      • grabs popcorn

      • Youre missing some context

        • +2

Same result regardless of the context. If you create a group to move away from OzBargain and then invite everyone on OzBargain to come join you're not really moving the crap away. Rather you're encouraging it to follow.

"Save 50% off RRP on Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and 65% when you buy 2"

    $70 for 2 Firestick 4K Max's is a pretty good deal.

    • Anyone in Sydney and keen to go halves on the 4k max deal?

    • Like with mrtee's comment above, is anyone keen to go halves with me in the Gold Coast/Brisbane ?

  • +5

no Echo Studio deal? been waiting for a big discount on these …

  • +1

So when would the "early" deals go live?

  • Likely to be any deals on the Kindle Oasis? I have an old (like 2014) Kindle but am tempted by the larger screen and warmer light.

    • +2

hey I'm about the same boat (old one around 13~14)! Planning on getting the new paper white with 300ppi res which also has the warm light as per details (and photo) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08N3J8GTX.

      • Might jump on on the paper white although I haven't been reading my actual books lately. Hmm

        • +4

          that's the OZB spirit!

        • +4

Might jump on on the paper white

That would destroy the screen though.

    • +1

The difference might seem small, but the 6.8 inches and the lack of a bezel make it so much more enjoyable to use.

  • +1

Sennheiser Momentum 3 headphones for $399. Not too bad.

  • How much for the Echo 4th Gen?

    • +1

Were down to $79 a week or two ago.
Fingers crossed they drop even lower for Prime Day

      • +1

It’s now $70, I think the lowest ever with Prime day still to come.

The studio is now $229 lowest is $180.

  • +1

@dealbot, is there a way for me to get a link to the official announcement from Amazon on this?
I wanted to see if JB can price match it before the deal go live for Kindle Paperwhite. Will be a long shot but worth a try - I will be travelling so Kindle would be nice to have.

  • +1

If I hook up hub to fire stick Max 4k…and use a usb drive.. Does it have the 4gb limit of fat32 format?

  • +1

Was just about to buy a kindle, glad I hesitated and came for a quick ozbargain glance first. Cheers.

  • Most of the items state Up to xx% off. So guess we have to wait til next week to see if there actually some deals

  • +2

Keen for a deal on Oculus 2!

    • +3

If you do get one don't forget to use the referral system so you both get 79 dollar referral credit.

      • Definitely! Ta for the reminder 😀

      • +1

what referal is this? i cant find it

        • yeah where?

          • @capslock janitor: Oops before you sign in on the first time, get someone to send you a referral code through Facebook. (If you already know someone with one they can send it to you)

You should be able to use the ozbargain regeral system

    • Same here, cant wait for 12/07

  • Was just about to buy a multicooker, but up to 45% off Instant Pot, I might wait a week…

    • +1

It's on now. Duo nova 5.7L one is $132.

      • Thanks!

Haha: now I have the problem of whether to buy this or the Crock-pot Express…

        • links?

        • I have one of these, I really like it. I make a pulao/pilaf rice and chicken (marinated in pataks paste) with chicken stock in about 15 mins (plus saute/pressurising). Such a tasty dish. Great for leftover lunch. I really need some more recipes though.

  • +2

This deal is now live, I just purchased one 👍

  • +2

can you cast from mobile on these firetv sticks?

    • +1

YouTube, Netflix and Prime Video yes

CinemaHD and Cyberflix "type" apps no.

Learnt the hard way when I was trying to retire the Vodafone TV, only to reconnect it back.

      • if we install youtube app on firetv max 4k,
can we link the youtube app on firetv with our youtube app on the phone etc..
then can we cast to it?

        so with chromecast+google tv
that allows casting from any video app ie cinemaHD, Cyberflix etc to the chromecast (since casting is builtin)?

    • +2

It's not a chromecast so not your normal casting.

    • +1

You can but that's not the point really, it comes with a TV remote and its own apps for almost every streaming service, and you use it like a smart TV. Phone is not required.

      • can we use phone as remote?

        • +1

          Yes you can.

It's very handy as my kids are always losing the real remote.

  • Would there be any benefit in getting the 4K Max if your TV will have the app natively? For the record, mine is not a 4k tv so im tossing up between buying a normal one rather than a 4K max one.

EDIT: Is there even such a thing as a non Smart 4k tv? Probably the only use case I can think of for these.

    • +1

The OS on TVs quickly gets left behind and no longer updated. Also they are usually slow and annoying. Eventually it's nicer to have a separate box to use like this (or a chromecast with google tv etc)

      • +1

Im not questioning whether to get the FireStick. Just confirming whether I need the 4K version or the standard version given a) I dont have a 4k tv and b) most 4k tvs come with the amazon prime app natively. I can understand the other user feedback about bad/slow TV UI which is a good point.

        • just get the 4k max
only $20 more and can be reused for when you get a better TV..

The device is more powerful and better specs so will last longer than the cheaper version…

    • +4

I got two because I hate using Smart TV's native UI and eco-system. For example I can't install Plex or Kayo on my 65" Panasonic.
May as well grab a 4k stick for when you eventually get a 4k tv.

And yes, you can get "non smart 4k tvs", but they are becoming harder to get it seems. Nothing worse than waiting for a TV to boot into it's horrible and slow OS.

    • +4

I use my 4k max daily on my home cinema projector (which has no smart TV features or apps).

It's better streaming quality on Netflix and Disney plus than watching those in the browser on the PC which is also hooked up to my projector (due to bad DRM required by studios on PC app/browser clients).

It's quicker and has more apps and streaming services than most smart TV software.

It also has an Alexa feature so you just press a button on the remote and say "Stranger things" or whatever and go straight to the show you want.

To me, less than $50 is a very small amount to pay for so much convenience and streaming image/sound quality.

      • which projector?

        • Ancient 1080p one called BenQ W1070.

(The image quality is so good that to get a 4k one good enough to replace it is pretty expensive, so I'm waiting a bit for projector prices to settle down).

          • @GandalfTheCheap: does it play sound too?
or what's your speaker set up?

            • +1

@capslock janitor: Firestick 4k is plugged into the inputs on my home theatre audio amplifier and receiver, which plays the audio through speakers, and sends the video signal to the projector.

I believe it also supports Bluetooth headphones.

    • +3

The 4K Max has a better processor and WiFi6, surprisingly fast and snappy little unit.
Originally got one for a 10yo non smart TV. And since got another for my own, and it blows away TV built in apps.

Can also pair it with 4th gen Echo/Echo Dots for decentish surround sound

  • Any Dyson deals ?

  • Random question: I have a chromecast and it's all g other than KayoSports, which is super laggy/buggy. I've contacted Kayo and they've given me extremely tokenistic support. Has anyone streamed Kayo via Firestick (I think I read somewhere you can stream Kayo from FireStick). How was it? Was it laggy? Did it work ok? Am I asking too many questions?

    • I haven’t but which Chromecast do you have?

      • I believe 3rd generation, but just the normal version, not the 4K one. I don't even have a 4K TV. My TV is a 13 year old Sony LCD. Not sure why you needed to know that, you didn't ask, but threw that in anyway.

        • All good, I have an oldish TV too but grabbed a “Chromecast 2” I think when people said it performed better for Kayo than the original.

Google says yours is newer and better. Not sure what’s going on there.

          • +1

@WhyAmICommenting: If it works on your Chromecast 2, I might go back to the drawing board, maybe there's something else I can do to fix!

  • Got 2 x Echo Dot 3rd Gen, paid $28.

    • shows up as $38 for me.

      • Yeah I don't understand it either… one was $19, 2 $28 for me. Checked few times before I ordered…

  • +1

Was hoping Echo Dot with Clock would be $49 not $59 zzz snore day

    • +2

I bought one for $99 the other day. Instead of Amazon refunding the difference, the CS agent made a mistake and refunded me $59. So yay for me

    • +1
      • +1

Yeah I know, they brought it down when JB put theirs at $49.50. I'm about to buy one with cashback at 2.

  • +2

Can you run Kodi on the fire stick?

  • Small Business brands
Save on select Nakie hammocks and blankets.

Homer : Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio : Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
    Homer : Uh-huh.
    Hank Scorpio : There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
    Homer : Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio : That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot… Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
Homer : Oh, the hammock district!
    Hank Scorpio : That's right.

  • Isn't Prime day tomorrow? It seems Amazon has made some deals available early.

  • +1

I'm tempted but I don't use prime services and don't want bloatware / ads. Is it still possible to add kodi or something easily?

  • What is up with so many bad review for 4K stick, was thinking of getting one for parents house but….

    • +3

Probably idiots trying to stream 4k via their crappy Wifi connection rather than hardwired connection.

  • +1

Has anybody managed to price match with JB for the echo show 8?
Wanted to use my gift cards

  • I was holding out for the Furbo camera deals. I can see one of them has a tick box $80 voucher to discount… do we know if this is the prime “save on” deal we’re waiting for?

  • argh, i cant post amazon deals as i am associated with amazon.

"Representatives for Amazon AU have been banned from posting due to Sockpuppeting (Rep only) (Deals only)."

but i dont believe this has been posted yet:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07FQ4XCR1
Kindle, now with a built-in front light - Black 79 bux!!!

(65 bux with employee discount!) - must be new as its not tracking on the 3x camels.
if someone wants to post it it seems good…

    @ADMIN PLEASE FIX THIS!

    • FYI this has already started…

BTW thanks, I just bought this deal, 2x firesticks 4K + 2x dots (3rd gen) 75 bux with employee discount… NICE!

  • I have an old Firestick lite and it would be handy to have the remote with controls. Can you power up the TV and change volume on any TV? I've got a Hisense 65P7.

    • Not sure about any but when setting up there is a huge list.
