Multifunction Electronic Espresso Scale, Weigh Digital Drip Cone Scale with Timer, 1g [sic]1 Precise Graduation, 2000 Grams Mini Digital Food Kitchen Scale for Baking, Cooking

Seems like a decent price for this scale. Good reviews.

Review video outlining functionality for those questioning this scale.

You can buy similar off Alibaba for $10 - $15

These are nowhere near the quality of the Timemore.

      • +3

As long as they are accurate, and in my experience they are, I can buy about 6 of them for the price of only 1.

        • +1

It does not have timer. If you want cheap this one is OK but still different quality.

  • +4

Really great scale, you can find these on Aliexpress for $60-70 if you don’t mind waiting for delivery.

    • Have you got a link that is genuine timemore? Many knock off there

      • +3

I bought this listing a while back. Cost $63.50 Inc delivery, also go 20% cashback (cash rewards) which tracked and paid out around $11 (only tracked on the item cost, not total transaction)

Worked out around $52 out of pocket.

        Edit:
Took about 10 days to arrive.

I bought from here too. I think TIMEMORE XC is the official store (not 100% sure).
Delivery was quick only 10 days for me too. bought it a few weeks ago. seems legit.

          • @C-Nut: This.

Buying through Amazon is unnecessary, though I guess some are more comfortable with it.

Great scale, but one should never pay $110 for it.

Got my scale from eBay for $14, has a timer and 0.1g granularity.

    • Timemore is an actual brand - local price is $109 https://alternativebrewing.com.au/products/timemore-black-mi…

      • Timemore make decent grinders, but this is just a standard scale. Why would you pay so much?

        • +2

          Build quality is exceptional
          USB C charging
1+ month battery life with heavy use
low profile and compact (fits under most espresso machines group heads with a cup)
super fast response time and very accurate
Designed in a way that water spillage cant leak into the scale

Just to name a few pros

          • +1

@momptdeals: Thanks, I revoked my negative vote

Are the steps really only 1g though?
            That's pretty crap if so.

            • +1

@TEER3X: No. The Amazon title is incorrect.

The scale actually has a 0.1g resolution (with a minimum measurement of 0.5g).

              The deal has been updated.

          • @momptdeals:

Designed in a way that water spillage cant leak into the scale

            🤔:

Note: The surface of the scale panel is waterproof, but be careful to prevent liquid from entering the gaps in the body and the charging port.

So not really waterproof. (I would tape over the port with black insulation tape to make sure no water enters there.)

            • +1

@robinCTS: Yeh it's not waterproof, but it's designed in a way that spilt water just runs off the side. E.g. the entire top plate wraps around the body, so any spills just run off, kind of what made the design of the acaia pearl revolutionary in the cafe/barista scene. Except this one is 1/4 the price.

I get it, if you want a pair of cheap Amazon scales go for it, for those who appreciate something that makes their coffee prep workflow a joy, then the Timemore are a nice deal.

      • +1

Oh, it's an actual brand. Now the ridiculous price makes sense.

    • Can you please provide a link? Thanks. Dont really care about the brand as long as it works fine.

  • +6

I'm sure it could measure a lot if things.

    No, just coffee. $90

      +1 Simpsons reference

I've been looking at scales for my espresso machine and at 26mm that's very thick, making it too high for my cups to fit under. Might be good for drip but not much else. These are just as thick but less than 1/3 the price. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07L2KV94G

    • +1

Yea this looks much better value. I'm pretty over companies marketing "special" scales. It's not rocket science, it's simply a method to measure a weight, all it needs to be is accurate.

      • Only weight on Earth or on the Moon too?

    • I have one of these. Can't fault it.

    • I have one and while I'm still using it I have found it is pretty inaccurate for <1g increments, but if you don't care as much like myself then it's been great. If I'm dropping one bean in at a time it can take 6+ beans before registering a change in weight, sometimes of only 0.1g and sometimes one bean added will increase the weight by 0.5g.

It's also superior to this one because you can use eneloops! No in-built battery waste.

  • Weighing coffee? What is it? Colombian blend?

    • +1

      lol drugs are funny lol

  • OOS

  • Kitchen scale and my watch when change beans. Actually I have not changed the beans for a year. $90 saved.

    • you need to change the beans
