Pioneer Car Stereo with Bluetooth, USB, AUX and iPod Control Model - DEH-73BT $129.95+$9.95 Post

40

While checking the COD website came across this unit, I have the DEH-7350BT, looks and features wise the same not sure why they have two models but love my unit, I got my mine when Supercheap had the super sale ($179). I can also control my iphone (3GS iOS 5.0.1) through the Pioneer remote. A very good unit for this price…

  • I really want a nice head unit which can play DAB+ :(

I think the price drop on these units by Pioneer is because the new DAB compatible heads being released, they are good but they are much pricier than this..

I bought 52W x 4 from JB Hi Fi with USB and ipod compatibility for 100$.

If you need must bluetooth in it….then, its not bad. But I am sure, you can buy this device cheaper with same specs from elsewhere(except bluetooth).

Please provide details of a better deal than simply making statements

The bluetooth on this is fantastic, I needed a BT compatible unit. These days when receiving phone calls I do not have to worry about putting myself or others in danger or even worry about a ticket from Mr Robocop :=)

    • i think people who have smartphones don't care about a mere $40 to get it working

  • What's the normal price to get something like this installed and any recommendations for Sydney ?

I hate COTD, but that is a good price…same unit appears to be $229 in the new SCA cattledog!

Bear in mind though, it is COTD…by the time you get it your car will be vintage…or maybe just a classic if you lucky! :p

    • sca doesn't stock this anymore. this is an older model

      • Looks the same to me, same features, dunno what model number SCA is…it's all meh to me! ;)

  • This might be off-topic but does anyone know how much it will usually cost to replace the existing CD player with a new one?

    • IIRC, I think a mate recently paid ~$85 to have one fitted by the JB contractors out back!

Beware that while this model does to bluetooth phone, I'm very sure it does not do streaming audio over bluetooth ie a2dp.

    • aah.. that's a downer :(

  • not sure if it is still the case but every pioneer stereo unit I have used in the past did not 'shuffle' songs when selecting 'next track'. they only shuffle when a song ends. Incredibly frustrating in my opinion.
