One item that I get heaps of requests for through Ozbargain and Best Aussie Markdowns is the AW3821DW. After trying to drum some interest via BAM for this, I managed to get a small batch available for this promo. Only 50 units available so you need to be quick to grab one.

      On my 3080 I've got Elden ring running max settings at 60fps. I even use flawless ultrawide and removed the fps cap and I can get around 80fps.

    Already have AW3821DW for more than 1 year @$1599, great monitor despite the black is more like light grey… But still want a 4K 144, wanted the G3223Q but HDMI capped at 24Gbps…. and the price is still pretty steep considering the FO48U only $200 more…
    So unless the G3223Q is $600 I would still wait for FO48U…

      When you say blacks look more like light grey, that sounds like it's just a reference to standard IPS blacks. This monitor isn't bad at displaying blacks from what I understand, it's just that in light of the AW3423DW QD-OLED coming out, everyone's now a contrast enthusiast and shitting on IPS monitors in comparison. Before the QD-OLED came out, no one would have been so critical of the blacks I imagine.

      Lol the G3223Q is the cheapest 4k 144Hz 32' IPS right now (with discount), so can't expect it to drop more soon. And while FO48U is great, it's too big for normal PC desk set up.

      Is it bigger? Sure.
      Is it better? Thatā€™s a big fat ā€œit dependsā€.

      For example I donā€™t have space on my desk for a television-sized screen, or space in my work area for a television-sized-screen-sized desk.

      Really depends.
      The size of the 48 can be off-putting as it's a longer distance to view the HUD elements when gaming.
      Eye fatigue would be much quicker.
      Having it at a distance would help but then using it for general work might be too far away at 4k without increasing the text sizing or lowering the resolution. Desk space also to have it further back plus cables to reach.
      Running at 4k you'll need to start reducing settings to maintain fps.
      Burn in risk with 1 year warranty vs Dell 3 year (and burn-in specific warranty for their 34 OLED AW)

    No black frame insertion and….

    Sadly, it has an IPS panel with a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray. It has an edge-lit local dimming feature, but it performs terribly as it fails to improve the contrast, and can't be disabled when viewing HDR content. It's also limited to a 120Hz refresh rate with a 10-bit signal over a DisplayPort connection. On the plus side, it's very well-built, but its ergonomics are mediocre, which is a bit expected for such a large screen.

    I've owned the AW3821DW for a year and mind you I wear glasses lol so my eyesight is not perfect. From a owners point of view I found the colours perfect to my eyesight and black looks well just black. I have absolutely no complaints except if you want HDR which it is crap at (I game with it off and games look amazing to me). I use this usually over 8 hours a day weekdays for work and plenty of hours outside of that for gaming.

    For gaming only complaint is widescreen is not supported in many games but usually there are mods you can use to fix it e.g flawless widescreen. I'd highly recommend this monitor and have no regrets buying it. As long as you have a deep enough desk so you are not too close to it, then it is fantastic.

    Hey guys, if anyone wants the AW3821DW, might be able to give it to you for the same as what I paid.
    Was gonna sit the box on my desk, and if the box doesnt fit then I can't use it lol. It's being delivered to my family's home address in the Northern suburbs of Sydney but I'll be home in a month (out for work)
    I basically impulse bought it whilst I'm locked down for COVID

    The XPS 8950 models show up on Dell's Australian site as shipping on 21 June, but on ebay it says expected delivery 18-25 July. Is this normal and correct or should I ignore the ebay estimate?

      I have this, I called up and confirmed that the weight maximum of 12kg is what is important, not the size range they list on their site, so itā€™ll be fine.

      They have sales on ozb occasionally too.
