@dealbot what happened to the usual $369 price?

  • +1

Pay using Amex CC and get additional 10% back if you have been targeted and have saved the Dell Amex offer

  • Would be great if there was a glossy option.

  • There were at the dealbot price on the refurb store with a 3 year warranty not long ago, may still be there.

    • 329 last I checked (couple days) on dell outlet

      • $298 last I bought 2 of them a month ago :D

  • Really looking for something like this, at this price point that has a higher screen refresh rate.

    • 4k high refresh at this price point? Good luck

      • Yeah I know wishful thinking, I've been looking and cant find anything unfortunately. Was hoping with EOFY coming up some smacking deal would come about. Oh well. Better keep saving them pennies.

  • Does anyone has a setup for WFH with 2 x 27inch? How does it go ergonomically on a standard work desk?

    • +3

I use 3x27", works fine. 3 is more ergo as least you're looking at the centre monitor mainly and not having to twist left or right constantly if your attention is focused on one screen.

    • +2

30 inch middle, 27 vertical on the right, 14 inch laptop on the left.

    • I have 2x32” curved setup.

I needed to modify office chair to adapt a keyboard and mouse tray.

This way I can swivel my chair to look at the left screen or right screen without twisting my neck.

34" and 27" on an Ikea Bekant (160x80). 34" is straight on and 27" on the left angled. Can maybe fit a 13.3" laptop if I overhang or angle the 34" abit.

329 for the refurb which is widely recognised as better than new, that’s the real deal

Damn looks like I just missed out on the refurb deal.. out of stock now. :(

    • +2

Just got my refurb today of this model.

Overall I’m pretty impressed with the quality. It seems new as if someone has taken it out of the box and then immediately wrapped it up again which is probably what’s happened.

A tiny scuff on the stand, and a very slight nick on the display very top right which it was probably returned for. It’s unnoticeable unless turned off and looked at up close. I could return/replace it but I don’t care though as it’s sold as refurbished and totally worth it for the price.

One thing that irked me was that I could still see the address of the previous recipient on the box where the label was poorly torn off. Wouldn’t want that on one of my returned products!

Overall I’m happy especially as you’re not going to see them for that price often anymore.

      • Yeah my one shipped on Monday, I've also gotten two MSA20 monitor arms, half price currently.
Would recommend as it saves so much space on the desk and I'm pretty sure they're made from the same metal tanks are, absolute rocks.

  • what scaling do people usually use at 4k resolution on a 27inch monitor for productivity?

    • +3

Either 125% & 150% depending on desk depth.

    • at 250%

  • Of course it's available for a lower price the day after I buy it :(

  • Yeah, that's why I posted the refurb deal for $329. Lucky I brought one for work from home. Now gone.

  • I bought the 2722QC for $369 and the 2721QS for $299.. a good work setup, but I feel the 2721QS has a warmer tone than the 2722QC. Can anyone with the same setup verify that for me?
    Thanks

  • Dell U2723QE is preferable with an in-built mega USB-C hub … but anyways, this USB-C is a bit cheaper .. USB-C 4EVA.

    • bought a separate USB-C hub and went with the $299 monitor …..means I can take the hub with me if not working at home, and if I get a new monitor, I haven't wasted the extra USB-C feature …..and if the monitor dies, I still have the hub for the next monitor or until fixed …..

      • +1

Yea .. I've got about x4 usb-c hubs with a stack of ports but it's a mess of cables when I use one .. The hub is the monitor is so clean

      • if you don't mind, can you please provide the usb-c hub details ?

flickering issues were reported with M1 Mac on S2721QS. did you face any issues (Mac / Windows) ?

  • *I preface this by saying it is very much a newbie question, so sorry in advance if I irritate anyone.

Hi all, I'm currently using this monitor at home (https://www.pccasegear.com/products/21516/asus-pb278q-27in-p…) which I connect to my work Dell laptop via HDMI. (The laptop does have a USB-C port which I use when in the office to plug into a hub which provides power, network access and 2 monitors.)

I'd like a second monitor for home and I want to see if this one will work. It won't be for gaming, just work (document based). I have sh!t eyesight and am starting to have to scale up a bit to ease the strain, so I'm thinking 4K is best. Unfortunately I missed the recent deal for the Dell S2721QS, and I am wanting to buy this tax year so am not inclined to wait for another deal on that one.

I love the idea of powering the laptop from the monitor and getting rid of the bulky power cord. However, how could I then connect my current monitor to use as a second monitor? I understand I can't connect it to this monitor directly, but if I connect this monitor to my laptop using the USB-C port, and my current monitor also to my laptop using HDMI, will that give me 2 monitors?

Also, should I consider buying a hub so I can have an easy option of just plugging a single cord into my laptop and being ready to go, without having to plug 2 monitors plus the USB for the wireless mouse/keyboard? (But if I buy a hub, should I bother with this monitor or find a cheaper one? This is all very overwhelming for a novice!)

    • +2

Yes, you can run dual monitors, one plugged in via usbc and one via hdmi. Just make sure you get a usbc cable capable of running 4k@60hz.

I run this setup and I've tried running it via a 4k hub too, but the frame rates are shocking and am trying to find some better cables.

Someone already mentioned before that some laptops do complain about the power through the monitor for charging as it's lower wattage than from the power supply it comes with. That said, it still works.

In short, if you can get it working via above, skip the hub for now. Best to get a thunderbolt hub (if your laptop supports it) later on down the track if you were going to get one.

      • Thanks so much. I greatly appreciate your reply. Off to buy the monitor now :)

    • Just get this one .. so much easier and clean .. Dell U2723QE

    • None left.

  • This monitor any good for MBP 15"?

  • if I wanted to add ethernet to this to connect to my laptop via usb-c, would putting a USB to ethernet adapter in the rear USB port of this work?

    • +1

Yes it will work, get a USB 3.0 gigabit one. MSY has a cheap one if you can go there to pick up.

Just need to turn the monitor on and off if the network adapter is not recognised or powered up.

And REMEMBER to turn off your Wi-Fi and turn on airplane mode.

  • Anyone got cashback tracked for this with the VIVID5 code?

    • Did it anyway, tracking fine.

  • If anyone want to get this monitor, I can get it for $361 with Amex statement credits and shipped directly to you from Dell.
    Please PM if interested.
