My problem with mail forwarding companies you never know if you're getting a good price, its so hard to properly compare them so I usually just chicken out and buy direct from amazon :(

If you've got someone in US (or going to LA on the Irish Expedia deal) Amazon is a bit cheaper. Hero2 US$265. The LCD backpack is also cheaper. $69. Wish i got the LCD instead of the extra battery that i never use… but then i probably would have needed an extra battery… Also, an 8gig SD card would probably be enough. Maybe 16. I bought a 32gb, but would usually take less than 8gig per day before the battery would run out. (about 2 hrs over the course of the day)

also, anyone knows what you need minimum to mount it on helmet for skiing?do yo need to buy extra mounts?
Should work if you've bought the Outdoor hero 2 as that comes with a helmet mount. Alternatively, you could use the curved sticky 3M thing to mount it but this is a more permanent solution (removable, but not really reusable)
Just did a season in Canada and decided to get myself a GoPro. I found the "Vented Helmet Strap" couldnt be done up tight enough. I mean, it holds on, but going over bumps, it wabbles around with the little bit of slack. You get a few of the 3M sticky mounts which i found better. (Although i did have some friends who had theirs come off - so consider attaching a safety line)
On a side note - unless you are filiming your buddies, helmet cam of just the run is a little boring. Get an old ski pole or monopod and make yourself a Go-Pole, then you can film yourself. eg 2:30 in this vid http://youtu.be/200zYM5YCKw (you can also hold it behind you and get 3rd person view (not shown in this vid i don't think) and you can also spin the camera to face forwrds and get a bit of extra reach and manouvarability over helmet cam - but it does mean you have to hold it which can be a bit of a pain after a while.

where do u use ur gopro? cuz if you are ready to compromise on the quality just a little bit there are cheaper options to be had. It all really depends on how u want to use it. For me the gopro may be a bit too heavy. Sticking the gopro on a quad or plane is not always practical.
