Just ordered the dji osmo action 4. How does this compare?
Daylight 4K footage between both cameras is almost identical except the 5K mode on the Gopro is a bit sharper than the DJI. The night footage of the DJI is much better than the Gopro though (though still looks a lot worse compared to the new Insta Ace Pro 2) . Battery life is roughly the same, though the DJI charges quicker I believe (can't remember by how much).
Thanks, most of my shoots are low light anyway.

I will be mostly taking day-time footage outdoors - for which the GoPro (from my quick research) still seems to be the best quality… but this price is so tempting.
I've watched many reviews. They all have their pros and cons. I personally like the image from the GoPro best - less weird overdone HDR and nicer colours, but that is my personal preference. The GoPro is starting to look like old tech though, and if they don't improve some aspects dramatically in the next version, they will not be very attractive. Battery life and charging times and low light quality really need improvement.
Do your own research.
Low light. Saturation/Hue. Battery life. All better with DJI action 5 pro.

I have the opposite experience. GoPro trumps DJI Action 5. Look up all the complaints about the DJI Action cameras. Most the complaints about GoPro is just heat. But DJI Action cameras have wild sensor, autofocus, and exposure issues.
When you say look up, do you mean reading reviews? Or viewing actual video comparisons? When you say complaints about DJI, was that specific to the Action 5?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRRzrJzSXBII had a GoPro Hero11 and compared against Action 5 and found the DJI-A5 to be a lot better in both video and photos (for snorkelling and diving). Spec wise in comparison the DJI has a bigger sensor so better low light shots…
