Thanks, Panasonic AA & AAA Eneloop Smart And Quick Battery Charger price has been dropped to $32 too if anyone wants to post as a new deal
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B077PLTNGK?psc=1&smid=ANEGB3WVE…

    • Thanks, bought it as well, nice price for a fsast charger and 4 batteries

    • can this charge eneloop pro batteries?

      • check the description my guy

        • +5

a yes or no would have sufficed

          • @Jugganautx: lol why shouldn't he click one button and find it himself? Rather than clicking 20 buttons to type it out ahah

            • +7

@teacherer: There are arguments on both sides. Personally I think the person asking the question should proactively look for the answer and then post it. This approach will help others that are also likely thinking of the same question.

              Always look to help.

            • @teacherer: Most people would type with a keyboard and not their mouse…

      • +2

I assume/hope so since the listing says "designed for the entire eneloop range".

    • Thanks, just broke my Eneloop virginity.

      • +1

you are now inducted into the OZB community officially.

    • Can you use the charger to charge 2 AA and 2 AAA at the same time? Or do the batteries have to all be the same size?

      • Different sizes in each slot works fine, they charge independently.

  • +5

S&S kinda defeats the purpose of recharge, no Amazon?

  • Just collected the ones from Teds camera that was ordered last August. If you also forgot like me, please try to contact Teds and they are very helpful.

I was emailed last year that they will contact me when item is in stock but it never happened. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/642839

  • +1

Close to Ladda $15 but no free delivery

  • Thanks OP. I swear i used to you have a bunch of eneloops but only down to a few. Time for a restock.

  • +2

Thanks ordered a pack for my battery drawer

  • Can anyone explain to a laymen like me, the difference between the regular and the pro.

    • +5

The Pro variant have about 15% greater capacity but comes at the cost of recharge lifespan. I believe standard eneloops are rated at 2100 recharges vs 500 for the pros.

    • +1

Also they passively discharge quicker. Charge held after one year:

      Eneloop: 90%
      Eneloop Pro: 85% charge

  • There is also these

  • +3

How do these compare to IKEA Ladda's at $15/pack?

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/ladda-rechargeable-battery-hr06…

    • It is believed that the IKEA LADDAs are just rebranded eneloop pros. Althought it would appear that there is now a slight difference as these eneloop pros are 2550mah not 2450mah like the IKEA ones.

edit: I just bought some $15 IKEA ones a week ago, they work great but I also picked up a pack of these as I need some extra.

    • -2

For all intents and purposes you won't notice a difference. The IKEA ones are almost certainly made in China, whereas some eneloops are made in Japan. There is apparently only one factory that makes Low self-discharge (LSD) batteries from Japan, so any LSD batteries from Japan were the same, just rebadged.

In my opinion though, it's probable now that other factories in China and other places can also make LSD batteries, though the quality may not be quite there. Honestly though, there's going to be very few people who will be able to say "this battery from China only lasted 1000 recharges before it dropped to 57% capacity, but this Japanese one is still going strong after 1500 recharges", and those who can probably aren't looking for the cheapest rechargeable batteries.

8 or 9 recharges (maybe a few more) and you've come out ahead of alkaline batteries (not counting cost of the charger), which any NiMH battery these days should reach easily.

You're better off not worrying too much about the battery brand, and paying more attention to the charger. Getting a decent charger is the best way to get the best out of any brand that you buy.

      • +3

Bought some 2450 LADDAs a few weeks ago. Checked the packet, and they are made in Japan. So certainly not made in China.

If you are a Amazon Prime member, this is obviously a better deal because of free delivery.

      • +2

Yeah all that paragraph is wrong. The IKEA Laddas mentioned are made in Japan.

  • +3

Bought. When does my OzB pro membership arrive?

  • +1

Wish they figured out how to make 1.5v rechargeable batteries in 2022

  • Any good prices on just the chargers? Lost mine when moving houses so the IKEA batteries have been getting no use.

  • So how many batteries would you normally buy? Twice as many as you need in your devices?

  • +11

FYI - Panasonic Eneloop Pro AAA is also $18 ($16.20 with S&S) on Amazon
Camelx3 just showed the new price 3 hrs ago

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Panasonic-Pre-Charged-Rechargeable…

    • +1

Thanks! I “needed” more AAA Eneloops.

  • The AA's are back to $22 now

    • +1

Must have gone back to $18 as I just ordered them.

      • You're right!

Though no subscribe and save option for the extra $1.80 haha

  • The link took me to a $22 offering but there is another Amazon page that has them for $18 with 10% less if you subscribe:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Panasonic-Pre-Charged-Rechargeable…

    • the OP was AA - the link you just shared is AAA so be wary. i almost clicked straight through then realised

  • I have the Ladda batts. Now to pop my cherry with the Eneloops like a good Ozbargainer

  • +2

    S&S is available again :)

  • why never any AAA deals…

    • +1

      @lyle88 here

      • Champion thanks! Now sure how I missed this 😅

  • $13 with eBay plus monthly voucher($5) link

    • Annoyingly no more free delivery for some reason. Can collect it though (for those in NSW).

  • Bought it and the charger. Now what do I have to buy to make use of the AA and AAA batteries?

  • I really want to level up in my OZB game by buying some eneloops, but genuinely don’t have any need for these wonderful little batteries. Please list what you’re actually using these for to inspire me

    • It's not that hard. Almost anything that requires the equivalent non rechargeable batteries. If you don't have many devices that need batteries, or find you are not buying alkaline batteries regularly, then you don't need these.

  • notice they're cheaper atm. anyone recommend a charger for these batteries?

  • -1

What mA setting do you guys use for charging AA Eneloop Pro batteries?
Using a mid-value within the range [0.5C, 1C], say 1500 mA seems rather high.

  • +1

Bing Lee is back to $36, so Amazon will likely increase price soon, grab them now if you are holding off.
