Half the price!
Slightly more likely to die early or leak on your pricey electronics than the eneloop pros, though, I bet.
Read the reviews. Horrible batteries.
In Eneloop/Ladda we trust.
Read the reviews.
How are they horrible? There are 8400 reviews with 88% of them 4* or above. That's pretty good IMO
In Eneloop/Ladda we trust.
I have an unopened pack of Ladda here in front of me. They are only 750mAh. Might pick up a few of these Eneloops instead.
Better off spending a few $ more to save corrosion form a leaking cell destroying your hardware.
A heap of the Australian reviews are 3 stars or less, and the people who know what they're talking about/long-term reviews rate them poorly.
Hard to tell what is going on with those reviews. Maybe there was a drop in quality? The AA reviews seem to be mixed in with AAA too.
I got some last year that perform in line with eneloops AAA, anecdotally. I haven’t explicitly tested, but they seem to last fine.
I just broke the seal on 8 AAAs I bought in December, and they all show 1.28v on the multimeter.
We bought both the AA and AAA. We generally use them in kids toys and other low importance/cost items. Haven't had any problems really. They don't seem to retain charge that well if they are just sitting there unused for some reason but last long enough while they are being used.
For what we need them for they seem great. We also have a lot of Ladda and some eneloops that I use in stuff where I want or need higher voltage or higher reliability. I guess if you don't have to deal with kids toys then maybe you don't need to resort to cheaper rechargeables.
A few years back I bought a lot of EBL batteries as they always had promotion but all of them cannot hold the electricity for long - only can hold a few days. So, it makes you charge it all the time. Now I do not bother to use them at all. I only trust LADDA and Eneloop (pro) now.
Had an EBL AAA not hold any charge after 20 uses. Unfortunately it's too good to be true
Are pros different to standard?
950mAh vs 800mAh
500 charge cycles on the Pro vs 2100 times
The pros have less cycles, or did you put the numbers wrong way round?
pros have less cycles but higher current for high-power applications.
@drillvoice: Huh, surprising. Good to know though.
@WhyAmICommenting: Think things like camera flashes, where you want big juice quickly.
But for things like TV remotes and whatnot, you'll die before you exceed their recharge cycle. With this deal, the pros ($18) are cheaper than the regulars ($19), so buy if you wish and never worry about it again.
Any good deals on 18650 battery
Lemme check my crystal ball. Brb
Been 2 hrs, have u figured out?
I guess his balls are broken like him
Why are these AAA more expensive than the bigger AAs?
Little hands are required to assemble. It's a niche labour market where demand is higher than supply.
Girls have smaller hands necessary for assembling these. Fewer girls in China. Or Japan or whatever. Maybe most girls in Japan are geisha or something, I dunno why are you asking us how would we know.
Because you get an extra A.
It says I last ordered this 15th of June 2021, they must have been on sale exactly a year ago too.
how does the S&S works? do you guys just cancel it after order?
Absolutely (some wait until it ships). In Eneloop we trust, in Amazon pricing we do not!
I cancel immediately after I order.
The regular AAA are also available for $1 more if people want more cycles 2100 instead of 500.
Panasonic Eneloop AAA Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries, 4-Pack (BK-4MCCE/4BA) https://amzn.asia/d/dm02zzY
IMO the regular version is no good. They don’t really hold charge well enough. You end up charging them more often which defeats the purpose of increased cycles
Only Eneloop pro or Ladda best bargain for your bucks
For AAA, the capacity difference is very small 800 mah vs 950 mah.
Also from internet feedback, the standard eneloops are more reliable and durable over the long term.
What I mean is if you only charge both the standard and the Pro 100 times over the next 10 years, then the standard eneloop is more likely to be still working fine 10 years later.
Live fast and Die young !!
In my experience all my normal eneloops which are made in China have far worst quality than Sanyo equivalents. I still have the 2012-2015 ones working better than new Eneloops normal. They simply do not last as long on the same usage. I given up on normal eneloops either pros paying more, or ladda for the cheaper otherwise even cheaper ones like Coles but my local don't sell them no more
I change my pro batteries less which means I use less cycles
The white and chocolate batch of eneloops quality are questionable
@neonlight: I agree on the lower "made in china" eneloop quality. But these standard AAA eneloop are made in Japan.
Pack of 16 for $57.88 BK-4HCCA16FA eneloop pro on a previous deal.. not sure if they're better quality than OP
Can i charge these Eneloop PRO batteries using https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B077PLTNGK ?
I bought the charger from this deal a couple of days ago - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/705990
yep
Thank you!
Got some. AAA are harder to get at discounted prices. AA can get anytime
since those la crosse technology chargers have disappeared anyone got charger recommendations?
Honestly, I have no idea why I didn't check the same for AAA when I purchased the AA deal, as I require AAA far more often than I do AA.
Anyway, purchased a set! Thanks OP! :)
How do these compare to VARTA rechargeables? does anyone know if VARTA batteries charge using the Panasonic fast charger?
I purchased the AA + charger deal a couple of days ago. Charger will not charge my high capacity eneloops AAA batteries. Charger flashes red which according to instructions suggests faulty batteries. They have only been used once. No issues charging ALDI AAAs. Anybody else had this issue? Eneloops high capacity black AAs are charging fine.
I purchased the same smart fast charger in that deal a couple of days ago too.
My experience with it is not good and I don't think I'll be using this charger with my batteries.
When I got the charger I put in four AA Eneloop batteries that were always used together in the same device, and all charged correctly and stopped charging as expected except for the first AAA cell which kept charging with the green light for almost an additional two hours. I thought it strange at first, but trusted the charger so let it continue. At the two hour mark I touched the battery in question which was very hot to the touch, and I immediately turned off the unit.
Later I tested the unit again by putting in fully charged Eneloop batteries to test whether the unit would recognise that they were full and quickly turn off like my older Eneloop Panasonic fast charger does within a few seconds. But no. The lights went to green within a few seconds and then stayed green and charging all four batteries for 25 minutes before it stopped! They were all very warm before it decided to stop charging. The charger should not have charged these batteries at all as they were all full. I even waited for the batteries to cool down and then put them back into the charger to test whether the charger would recognise them as full, however the same thing happened although I didn't wait 25 minutes this time and turned off the unit at 10 minutes as all the lights were still green and still charging the batteries.
I really do not trust this smart charger at all. What are others' experience with this unit? Perhaps mine is faulty.
Similar experience with this charger, batteries get very hot, approaching 60 degrees sometimes. This charger uses pulse charging and does a top up charge after charging. For a smart charger it's not that smart at terminating the charge for some batteries.
https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/test-review-of-cha…
Reading that thread, others have had similar issues, it's picky with certain batteries and doesn't handle batteries with high internal resistance well. I personally use a xtar VC8 plus now, works well and more importantly charges ALL my batteries fast at very decent temps 35-40 degrees.
I think trying to fast charge in a small unit is going to lead to heat issues, this is something the larger chargers are better suited too.
Interesting review. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't realise that this smart charger is so old; the review is from over 5 years ago.
Got one together with some dog food to get the free delivery. Thanks op
'AA' size Eneloop Pro's are now on sale for the same price too: https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07PZS2F3W
AA & AAA's delivered today (*late purchase)
Both packs arrived highly depleted, and are in need of a long/slow recharge
Amazon brand EBL is the better deal for AAA in my opinion:
