This is Bluetooth not ZigBee. Also more expensive than the Xiaomi equivalent which also has a LCD display

Fair enough. Better suited for me (i think) as i'm looking for remote monitor via the app rather than LCD, etc etc.

      • +3

        Xiaomi also does app

        • +4

i have it set up but cant seem to get history, notification and all that to work properly. Even bringing the unit up takes 2 mins to connect to tell me the current reading. Have you had better experiance with the app?

          • @Mazozb: I suspect the Govee will have the same problem. Syncs via BTLE and it's a slow protocol. I personally use it via Home Assistant

              @0 0 0: I have a single Govee.

It keeps weeks / months worth of history on itself.

And it takes about 15s to reconnect the Bluetooth to get the newest data.

I put it outside so I can get actual Temp/humidity data because the BoM seem to have lost their minds and my area is frequently 3-6C off theirs.

@Mazozb: Buy a qingping Bluetooth gateway. This will solve yr problem and make it very responsive in the mihome app.

        • Which one is the Xiaomi one?

      Would love a link.

Also Govee 2 pack for $17 after coupon available on Amazon

      • That seems to be a better deal actually…?
can't really tell whats the key difference between the 2 pack LCD version and this unit.

      • 17 bucks for 2 seems pretty good

        Link?

        • +1

Slightly different but here. Says 50% coupon at checkout for me

          • @TooSerious2: No reviews though? 🤔

            • +1

@KangaDrew: Probably all sold to slackers like me. 😀

I've taken a punt and will report back if I remember

            • +1

@KangaDrew: I know this is old but my quick review:
              - battery seems to get chewed up quickly & uses a cr2450 - maybe its old stock
              - works with home assistant & bluetooth dongle & then pushes cleanly into apple homekit
              - I put both together and one was 3 degrees higher than the other

I own the WIFI model and would recommend paying more for this model. No need to keep Bluetooth on all the time and can monitor from outside the home.

  • This good for growing mushrooms?

    • +1

      Don't see why not.

Accurate temps, humidity and dew point etc.

Lasts for ages (months+) on whatever battery I put in mine.

  • I'm looking to monitor my Cellars temperature and humidity year round.

Is this what it's for? I assume a Wi-Fi one would be better to check on my phone?

    • +1

Wifi presumably will chew through batteries.

  • This is good if you are in range of BT.

Wifi version would be better but big price jump. https://amzn.asia/d/27ngcyw

    • What's generally Bluetooth range?

      • About 10m or so. Not taking into account obstructions.

        • ;/

  • Does it work with Google Home?

  • Accurate?

    • Yup it measures in 0.1+- increments

      • +2

        thats resolution not accuracy

  • It looks like there's more in stock and it is cheaper now ($9.44)

The discount will expire in 7 hours
