Ice TV 15% off 1 Year Subscription ($84.15) for First 250 People

60
icemay12

Ice TV 1 year subscription full price is $99. There have been a number of 30% and 50% off codes in the past. This one isn't as good - it's a 15% off code (which frankly makes it more than I'm willing to pay for it), but hopefully someone will find this of use.

Code icemay12 is good for 250 people only.

Man I miss the old codes at one stage it was only costing me $49 for the year with codes :(

Just to let you know if you are an existing subscriber and you select auto renew in your account along with your payment details then you get an automatic 30% off making it $69 instead of $99. Mine expires in about 2 months so I'll probably turn this on before then.

I miss those good codes too. I reckon I'll hold off this one; I made the assessment early on that $50 was about what I was willing to pay for this service so this is outside my price range.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Mine expires in a month and I did not have the Auto Renew setup. :)

  • Would be handy, except all I need to remember:
    1) Friday Night Football is on Friday Nights
    2) Sunday Arvo Football is on Sunday Afternoons. :)

  • I think it's still overpriced. Now that the TV networks carry EPG data in their signal (even for non Freeview boxes) I can't see the point in subscribing, there's no premium value in the ice TV data.

Yes there is. For those of us with Ice compatible devices it is a major connivence have their website and app.
I for one will always use ICE TV.
But as above, I take advantage of the $49 pricing that usually happens twice a year.

    • I have no idea what ICE TV is… from your post, I surmise, that it's -only- the program schedule?!?

If that's so, I'd agree… with DBT TV's (that display program guides of the [digital] channels it can get), who needs more prog data? :-/

(Initially, I thought it was some TV over Internet provider. Wrong, right?)

It's the program schedule it is mainly used by those with windows media centres(now also a number of commercial pvrs use it too) Due to the archaic set up of Australia's TV guide rights Microsoft was not able to provide Australians with the guide in their media centres and back then there was not much if any info available over the air. So we used Ice TV since then more over the air info is available so some consider it not as relevant however I still love it.
Ice allows me to set up series record so that any new ep of my show will record regardless of what time slot the network shifts it to or how many weeks they take it off only to bring it back randomly also I can program it from my iphone or PC remotely.

I've subscribed to Ice TV for several years now and wouldn't go without it. It's much more than a simple EPG. Probably the most useful feature I find with IceTV is that it lets me set up recordings (either for one off programs or series) remotely for the digital tuner on on my mac, either via my ice TV account web of using the free iphone app. This is really handy when I am away from home or interstate and find something I want to record.

  • Mine sub expired 2 weeks back. Ice tv is handy and I can't be bothered going through the epg to record what I want for the day now.

    I don't know if I can wait for a 50% off special.

Also I can't get Sbs or abc info up on my top field 7100+

    any ideas?

  • I used to subscribe to IceTV, and took advantage of a deal posted on OzB last year for $40. But even that still seems expensive for the service. It is a great service if you watch a lot of free to air TV.

In the past few months have moved totally to video on demand services, there is a lot of value here and for a similar price to IceTV's annual cost, you can have NetFlix service, combine this with the free DNS service tunlr.net and the many other video on demand such as hulu, BBC iPlayer, chanel 4, crackle plus many others.

Im suprised the pricing has remained at the same levels for Ice TV, it makes a Tivo box look like its an attractive alternative, especially if your looking at buying a TV tuner.

  • For me the value of Ice TV is the flexibility it gives you with your PVRs. I run EyeTV/IceTv with a dual tuner stick attached to a Mac Mini as my main media centre. For shows I wish to keep, or send to friends overseas I use this device to record. Once a week, I will do some quick editing, set the records. Easy as.
I have a second dual tuner PVR which I use to record shows I know we will not keep. Runs off the same subscription.
My laptop, with a single tuner stick, runs off the same subscription.
Ice TV is excellent for doing series recording, set and forget, it seems to have no problems when the stations reschedule.
Just this week, a show I thought had finished it's run months ago, started up again ( I had not noticed), and as I had not removed the series record request, it just recorded it. And for a show I enjoy, that is not available on Channel BT.
Once a week they send you a email of the new series starting up- click on the links, new series will be recorded, easy as.
And the iPhone app is great.
The very few times i have had a problem, their help desk has just kept going till the problem is fixed.

And there is the wow factor of being able to set your PVR to record from the other side of the world.
