  • Seems an OK deal - i got my 45 watt one for 30 dollars just a week ago.

  • You would not happen to know if an updated version of this product is on the way (hence the reduced pricing possibly?) Eg, looking for a 120W+ version of this so I can charge the notebook (which needs 65w) as well as the phone at the same time… great little product but just looking for a little extra output

    • I am sure having your laptop slow charging at 45w is going to be fine —— unless you cranking the laptop very hard on both CPU and GPU all the time and cooling is still not a issue somehow.

      • Some laptops have a minimum charging power. My Dell won't charge below 60W.

        • A laptop with 65w max input is very unlikely going to have a high power CPU or GPU(if it come with any dGPU at all), 45w input should be more than sufficient for a low power CPU and few other things.

I personally have never come across a 65w rated laptop don't charge with 45w input.. you might be right though

  • Moving house soon, and these will be useful to replace the mess of powerboards and adapters in the bedroom. Thanks for the black link.

    Waiting for the belkin boys…..

"but Heymix can damage your expensive gadgets and the Belkin does not"

    • +1

Didn't some people say these catch on fire, high failure rates, etc

      • +1

The competitors said this is the case ;-)

      • That's what the Subaru staff told me when I purchased my car. The other car catches fire and high failure rates.

        • +1

Pretty sure samsung had batteries exploding, so either way belkin isn't gonna always be 100% safe. These chargers are not complicated and once a circuit has been established, the failure isn't as easy as one thinks.

Since you mentioned it… Belkin 8 outlet is 32% off currently for $47.80 :) Not cheapest it's been but grabbed a couple yesterday

      • Sad, I can't remember the deal but my purchase history says I bought two of these for $30.

    • You seem to love bringing this up in defence of Heymix. People were recommending Belkin products in a Belkin thread, why are you upset about that?

Heymix products are shoddy, well documented on OzBargain. Anker, Belkin, ZMI, Baseus (so far) are much higher quality.

Just really can't move on with the statement "the risks of damaging 'EXPENSIVE' gadget and Belkin doesn't".

        But then again it's Belkin.

But I mean belkin actually test and recall their stuff. These no-brands won't.

I got a HEYMIX usbc hub, after a few months it started tripping my laptop and charger. They sent me a new one, and after another 6mo/1yr it started doing the same. Clearly a design defect, but no comment from them.

        • +1

Good luck finding a recall from Heymix. They don’t even honour warranty half the time if you buy outside Amazon.

    • So do these meet Australian standards?

  • +5

Bought 2 of their GAN chargers; the ones that supposedly destroy equipment/explode. They make a constant hissing and crackling noise while in use. Didnt feel safe leaving my phones connected to them. They also constantly connects and disconnects while charging which is frustrating. Sure as shit would not trust their powerboards.

    • No problems with the Heymix GAN charger in my experience. No noise whatsoever either.

    • You might have a faulty one, I don't have that issue and using about 4 of these charges… reach out to them , I heard they are good with support/warranty…

i've been using the heymix 8 port 4x usb powerboard, for 6 months now
all the ports are used, have 2x 650w PC's monitors, and speakers occupying
no smoke, hissing or crackling noise

think the chargers are the one with the bad rep.

  • Thanks, purchased one.

  • dont forget 12% cashback via CR

  • Can't bring myself to buy Heymix.
After a powerboard with USB C from a reputable brand. Any recommendations?

  • Love this…but really wish there was a 4-AC version, struggling to find the use case to need 8-AC with the usb c+a included like that

    • TV, soundbar, sub, gaming console, gradient/bias lights, Google Nest Hub, robovac… there's 7 for me right there!

    Is this normal?

I've been using this powerboard for a month or two, it's not too bad. Some small caveats:

    1. When plug/unplug different chargers or cables, there is a chance that you need to turn the powerboard off and on again, as the newly inserted charger/cable might not receive power. This happened to me twice on different chargers/cables.

    2. When plug/unplug USB-C cables, both USB-C ports get reset, so depending on your use case it might be a slight annoyance (e.g. if you have your Switch docked, it'll undock for a few seconds because the port got reset and lost power for a second).

I think coupon is no longer available.

I bought a black one.. Loved it so much I bought 3 more. What I can't get over is why haven't more companies made a compact 8 port powerboard WITH screw holes on the top and bottom so you can attached it permanently to the underside of a desk, wall, etc..

    showing as $52.49 for me
