What do you mean that it took them too long to release? you knows it's been out for a few years now right?
It was announced in CES Taiwan i think in 2017. Took them 3 years to release
At the time when it was announced at CES I was saving up ready to drop $1600 on it because I was convinced it was worth it, but it took ages to get released and by the time it did there were loads of deals on the S3422DWG which then i couldnt justify the $1000 price gap. Put that $1000 toward investments during covid and that was probably the best decision I made that year
Edit: sorry the one they released in CES 2018 was the 34GK950G which never ended up getting to Australia, and this 850G is similar but doesnt have the RGB ring… Looks like they decided not to include the RGB ring with the consequent HDR400 models but the design is the same.

I'm thinking of buying that exact model as I don't want to go down the OLED route (60% work / 40% gaming use would burn the screen).

just waiting the next good deal for AW3423DW , will grab if it's closer to $1500-1600 so i don't need to spend much on the upgrade XD

check side by side comparision, the difference is quite significant towards the end of those photos.
There is some colour correction going on by the camera used in these comparisons. Just look at the difference in wall colour in each picture.
Not saying that the LG one is better, but this post is not a good comparison.

I downsized from a CRG90 to this and I must say I believe this is the sweet spot.
I love this monitor.
It's contrast is decent, colors are good quality. Clear image and not over the top design.
Price hurts a little but I managed to get it on sale a while back for a reasonable enough price.
Paired with another LG 27 and couldn't be happier.
Took them so long to release this monitor and then priced it among the stars… Only dropping it 2 years after it was released
