What, no Defender of the crown included in the games :(

    • You realise you can add any without hassle?

    • +6

      Geoffrey Longsword and raiding ftw!!!!

    • +4

Wow, Defender of the Crown, that brings back memories. My favourite Amiga games were probably Flashback and Another World.

Oh and Monkey Island of course

    • +1

easy to add your own games - https://gamesnostalgia.com/whdownload/d

    • +1

I can still hum the title screen music, despite having not touched since owning an original Amiga. Classic.

    • My very, very first game.

  • +2

    Chaos Engine is awesome!
Well the SNES version is at least

    • awesome game. Hard as nails though

      • Yup, my thumbs are ready to bleed at the final boss every time. Scientist with heal is the secret

    Is there commodore64 mini

  • +1

    R Type and Tower toppler

  • +8

Note that the keyboard is non-functional.

    • +2

      Thanks, came here for this.
I'll stick with the MiSTer FPGA Amiga core.

      • +1

I need to look into that, I've been using PiMiga which runs pretty well, or at least Turrican II does.

      • This is the way. So many system supported on MiSTer.

    • +4

Well that's kinda dumb. Completely lost interest in it. At this price would have expected the keyboard would be functional.

      • I think I read somewhere that there might be future plans for a functional one.

    • plug in a usb keyboard, I use a wireless MK295 mouse and keyboard combo. keyboard not generally needed for most games.

why do people bother buying/paying so much for this when you can just play it on an emulator ?

All of the games on this device is probably running in an emulator anyway.

    • I bought a PS Classic for the USB controllers. They're great, like SNES controllers but more ergonomic. Only 3ms of input lag too.
Ended up selling the console with no controllers.

      • the problem with these consoles is the games library is very limited to some selected x number of games which have some hit and misses in the selection.
Even if the PS Classic it was criticised for the weak games library.

on emulator I can get the entire library of that system…

In regards to the PS Classic controller
did you keep it for playing playstation emulator on your PC?

And why not just plug in a ps3, ps4 controller into the PC etc… if you don't want input lag on the PC?

        • And you can add games easily, this one without modifying. So it's not a problem.

Also, some actually like nostalgia and putting money towards things they enjoy. Obviously you don't.

        • PS classic has the ability to have 1000's and 1000's of games. Google bleemsync and check out the emulators and roms that it supports.

The PS classic with updated emulation runs allot better than stock and with bleemsync you do not have to re flash the PS console if you do not need wifi and some other features that I have never used.

          • @AndyC1: It's Project Eris now. It has taken over bleemsync

            • @adamshere: No, they are two different projects. Eris requires you to flash the PSC.

        • In regards to the PS Classic controller
did you keep it for playing playstation emulator on your PC?

I use it for the Playstation 1 FPGA core on the MiSTer.
          https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/PSX_MiSTer
And 2D games like SNES, NeoGeo.

PS4 controllers have 30ms lag (2 frames at 60fps). I use these when I need analogue sticks though (eg. ape escape)
          PS3 are worse.

Prior to the MiSTer, I played PS1 on my PS2 most of the time with original hardware, used the PS Classic controller for SNES on PC.

The Amiga isn't as easy for people new to emulation.

  • +1

    Nightbreed here I come.

  • Can it work just as a mechanical keyboard?

    • Would be a cool feature, but I highly doubt it.

    • +6

Sadly the keyboard does not do anything, just cosmetic

  • +1

I want to buy this just to hear the "booooo" sound effect on the ET Rugby League game…

  • What about International Karate +?!

  • Mainly want it for slideloading Amiga CD32 games like payback & kang fu. How's the experience with those kind of games? I read CD soundtrack support on mini is a bit iffy iirc

    • +1

for 'better' CD32 support - install PCUAAE scripts before hand - allows booting straight into Workbench hard drive images, retro-arch emulation and other features (install under original firmware 1.0.0 - v1.1.1 removes the ability to use the 'host-run' command which allows a lot of sideloading programs.

Sensible Soccer, Championship Manager, Theme Park, Desert Strike, Monkey Island among others were my favourites.

  • +1

Do you get guru meditation errors with this? If not, no deal!

    • +1

if the program crashes like it did on the amiga, it'll guru on this as well.

  • I want this but I think I’ll have to wait for a better price

  • +4

Elite, Paradroid, Gianna Sisters, Oil Imperium, Ports of Call, Test Run

    • +1

Don't you mean Test Drive? Damn I loved that game, I'm a car middle aged car head due to that game.

    • +2

All the games you mentioned plus: Xenon, Empire The Wargame of the Century, Virus, Silent Service, Hostages, Marble Madness, The New Zealand Story, Nebulus, Populous, F18, Pinball Fantasies, Bubble Bobble, B17.

Xenon was the first game I played on my Amiga, friend brought the disk and took it with him when he left so I left the computer on for the whole day so I could play the game later LOL

      • +1

Xenon. That Bomb The Bass soundtrack was epic too.

  • +1

Think my fondest A500 memories were of the gold box series DND, Buck Rogers etc. Oh and might and magic 3 had to upgrade to an external floppy drive to play it grr.

  • +1

So tempting, but I already have an a1200 and a MiSTer FPGA setup.

  • I have one of these, its not as brilliant as the thec64 but nice to have. Its good in the context it doesnt use up much space on the desk and you can download packs of all games/virtual hard drive. Im not a fan of the gamepad and the fightstick (last I checked, there was a recent update) I bought doesnt work with it…..i didnt know usb stick compatability was a thing when I bought the fightstick.

I dont regret buying it but will buy a full size if that becomes available. Yes you can use Mister or rpi emuluation but this is a turnkey.

  • +1

Was thinking of updating to this but I will keep my original 1980's A500 with doubled ram, a sidemount spin HDD, original monitor, external drives and many hundreds of floppy disks. I even have a genlock for green screen special effects. Makes for great retro game nights with mates. Wife wants me to sell it though, I keep avoiding the question. Anyone know what originals go for?

    • check ebay but that kind of set up would go for $500+ (probably more), if you have original big box games that will add to it. If you ever decide to sell let me know as been after a HDD for ages for my set up.

  • +1

Marble Madness, Stunt Car Racer, Phantasie III, It Came From the Desert, Xenon 2, Silkworm, Midwinter, F/A-18 Interceptor, Rick Dangerous and Wings were my favourites.

  • +1

SWIV, Battle Squadron & Super Cars II ftw!

Here is a java implementation of Super Cars I & II called Supercm Cars III

  • +1

Never had any of these niche machines, collecting the mini versions is cool and take up less space
