I needed a new printer for the kids school and came across this deal that started 30/05. Seems to good to be true. A printer delivered for $87 and $25 cashback via redemption doubled to $50 if you also subscribe to Instant Ink, which just happens to be a free trial for 6 months. So basically $37 for a printer and all the printing you can consume for 6 months.

  • Need new set of cartridges for my 8 years old Officejet Pro, the refills are $200!

    This deal is tempting.

  • Not an environmental friendly company or product solution

  • You can buy printers for $19 these days at Big W etc but the ink will cost $60+
I go to the library or local print shop nowadays when I want to print something

  • Been using my Note 10 plus for signing documents on PDF for years now. Bank paperwork, visa paperwork, etc. You name it. Rarely needed to print anything and only for douchebag businesses would wouldn't accept a soft copy via email. No kids but I understand it's a different thing if you need to print stuff for school work. I don't think a printer is needed anymore for normal day to day life.

As others have said. It's 2022. Promoting e-Waste like this does is environmental vandalism and a bloody disgrace

  • Glad I stumbled upon this deal so I know my Hp printer is crap. We had a HP 5520 that stopped printing black ink earlier this year. Got new ink and cleaned the old ink. Went through support which was useless in their fixes. They eventually replaced it with a hp envy 6020e. Which now i know was a bad idea. This printer is drm protected it seems. If i knew what drm was I would have asked for something else.

I hate this printer too. It doesn't have a screen so everything must be done via the app :(

  • Great deal on the surface, but please don't support HP's junk printers and subscriptions.

This is ‘deal’ not good for the environment and certainly not economical in the long run. Better off to buy Brother lasers printers or Epson Ecotank printers which run way cheaper on generic ink. I don’t support the idea of everything moving to subscription based model either.

    HP evil company

    • Indeed. My HP laptop battery suddenly stopped charging after 699 charging cycle even though it was holding charge for more than 4 hours. They program the battery that way to stop working after certain cycles of charging.

Had HP inkjet printer that refused to work with the cartridges that came with it after I refilled it with aftermarket ink many times.

  • Disposable printer.

  • I thought this HP ink thing was a good idea given I don't use printer much & chunk of my ink is getting wasted for the 'cleaning' cycle. Esp.
I waste almost all of my colour ink from that. So $1.99/m option sounds tempting & will move onto this model when I'm done with all ink stocks.

    • This is what I've done

  • If you want to pay through the nose after six months for poor quality printing, or you don't give a hoot about the environment, I'm sure this is a great deal.

  • this deal should struck us when started WFH.
It would have come in handy.

    it seems sold out
is there any other model worth to buy?

Obviously more expensive, but I am glad I bought my laser printer 4 years ago. Still using the original partially filled toner that came with it.

Once it eventually runs out, I have a $12 Amazon toner that should last nearly a decade based on current experience.

If you use an inkjet infrequently, it needs to spend its own ink constantly to avoid drying out. It's likely even if you do use it frequently it will spend the ink routinely.

Use AfterPay, get a laser and you won't regret it. If I need a colour print I go to Officeworks for pennies, which I rarely need enough to justify inkjet.

Friends don't let friends buy inkjet over laser.

Agreed, friend. I have a C1190FS Fuji Xerox MFC bought in 2009. On its last legs now, but can attest to lasers going the distance.

    • Thanks mate

Do you recommend any Amazon sellers for ink/toner?

  • this is back in stock…

  • I can't seem to find this printer under the cashback. Has anyone successfully submitted a cashback claim?
