OP, do you have 72mm cutout ZigBee version? Thanks

Noting that the device has a RCM logo, can you please provide the RCM certification?

If not, it's illegal to use in Australia and any fires as a result of this device would result in insurance claim rejection.

    • Not that lame old cannard again! We get a bit sick of the insurance bogeyman here. Do you have a financial interest in this field?

You do need certification to legally sell the item in australia, but importing appliances for personal use is a whole other matter. Customs don't give a flying copulation.

If you are accusing this of starting fires, <edited>

      • No, but i am in Engineering and the frequency of shit going sideways as a result of hardware non-compliance (not tested and verified to standard) is more common than you think. Look at the recent history of non-compliant phone chargers and how many deaths has been associated with it?

Standards and testing is there for a reason, to protect the users/owners from dodgy designs.

It's your call how much your family is worth to you; if for some reason your house burns down and people die it in.

I personally won't take the risk.

        • I was thinking about those chargers, as it is the only case I have heard of. They were copies of an Apple charger, but with insufficient isolation between the high and low voltage sides.
I think you overestimate the value in certification. Do you realise that the authority does not even test samples before certification, let alone after, to see if they are really complying. It is effectively all on the honour system.

          • @bargaino: You're right. They could supply a compliant solution, and then swap it to something non compliant and built with cheaper hardware. No stopping that from happening even with "branded" devices where they have done a revision change to minimise cost or adjust to chip shortage with a lower quality hardware.

But the first step is the important one, getting the certification.

            • @zeomega: Doesn't that just mean self-certification? Its not like the olde days when authorities actually tested samples.
And Zemismart has been around a while. Its not some random white-label from Alibaba.

              • @bargaino: No. Certification and testing is through an approved body.

These work great with hue bridges for near native use with hue infrastructure

  • 55% off?

Apart from the RCM logo mentioned above, I don't see any IC-4 logo. IC-4 compliance means your house won't burn down if insulation or other material covers the light fitting. A pretty important feature.

Also, there is some conflicting information. Your description above shows 650 lumens, as in the specs section, then lower down 700-800 lumens. Neither are very bright for 12 watts.

Then the specs show light angle of 140 degrees and further down a beam angle of 120 degrees. These are fairly wide angles which is good if you want a spread of light, but that means less illumination per square metre.

And another …. the diagram of the hole to cut shows 100mm, as well as in one of the photos, yet it appears to be a standard 90-92mm fitting.

Check out Amazon AU for Nue 9W one that is cheaper and brighter and has IC-4 and IP44 and is stocked locally.

Don't buy this if not Australian certified.

Edit: seems to have tick.. Does anyone know if these are certified?

  • The rep posts so called deals but never responds to questions. I have lots of Zemismart downlight and whilst they have all been reliable, the plastic lenses and reflective papers fall out from time to time. Very annoying requiring superglue repairs. No idea if this is still a problem.

    • Hi dear,
Could you please do a small video for it?
We will check it and improve it

    • Yep I've had this as well, also, 2 out of 6 have at a least 1 dead while so they are now dim and need replacing. I'll be waiting for the hue's to be on sale again and paying the extra to replace them.

650 lumen for 12W is pretty inefficient compared to standard brand offerings.

    • It does seem low, but that might relate to use of RGB? I'd be surprised if it drew 12W in white mode. But it also says "700-800 lumen" elsewhere. 800 in cool white?

  • Downvoted due to lack of information regarding RCM.

    • dear,we have SAA
