  • I have one of these… Great monitor at this price but colour settings need tweaking out of the box.

    Also G-sync compatible.

Comment about the stand is correct by memory - only one option for height.

  • Still using one of these, had a cheap 144hz 1ms monitor and thought this was an upgrade. For casual use and gaming, its good but for any FPS i'd recommend going for an expensive 144/240hz monitor. Visible ghosting on low fps but still decent for its price

Have this monitor and it was my first real purchase at the time for an "expensive monitor". Its well worth it and at the time was $400 on special. Thinking ill purchase another for two!

Quick q, does anyone know how this compares to this recent deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/698982?page=1#comment

  • May I ask anyone if my 5600g can run this monitor please or wasting my money ?

Running Windows at 1440p 144 Hz, absolutely. Running games, definitely not with the exception of maybe CSGO and the likes

      • Thanks 4 that . Not a gamer .

This was a goodun back in the day, but it's up against the Dell S2722DGM these days. Fast VA caught up with IPS, so you're only picking this if you have significant productivity or colour accurate work that you know will be impacted by the 1500R curve on the Dell, or the horizontal gamma shift that occurs with VA (hence the curve).

Otherwise the Dell is generally faster on transitions and has better text clarity and colour accuracy out of the box, better contrast, black levels, and a lack of IPS glow.

    • my overall understanding is that although VA has better black levels and contrast, it's more well suited to darker rooms, and IPS is more well suited to well lit rooms?

Just saying testing conditions aren't the same as where one actually uses it

      • You're thinking LCD vs OLED, but modern OLED hardly struggles.

Single-layer IPS LCD is the worst technology in a dark room though, yes. Dual layer IPS is a professional-grade video mastering tool out of reach of consumers.

        • I wasn't talking about OLED, but you did address my question. thanks :)

@RevMet: VA isn't an issue in a well-lit room though, it's OLED that suffers, but the brightness of OLED has increased markedly over the last few years.
