Maracaibo from Alexander Pfister, creator of Great Western Trail. Excellent Heavy Euro Boardgame for a great price, plays 1-4.
UPDATE: Price has gone up to $64.99, OK but not the best deal.

  • Looks interesting and it’s for a good price. Just can’t decide. It looks very complex.

There are lots of icons but there is some method to the madness. After a couple of plays it becomes second nature and becomes a good thinking game of what ship unlocks to go for first, what crew to buy and how far to travel compared to your opponents.

The hardest part is maths and "min-maxing" your numbers because when you choose what empire to support you carry two sets of numbers in your head (none of which is written down) and you want to try and maximise your returns. I'd say if you have people in your group who freeze up on things like that and always attempt to get the most value (thus slowing down their turn) then consider playing with less people.

If you're an experienced board game player, it's no harder than what you're probably already used to.

    from the reviews I've watched
it plays similar to Great Western Trail (same designer)
But ranked higher than Great Western Trail by both Rahdo and Tom Vasel
plus if you don't have the second edition of GWT, this one has a solo mode

Lowest ever price on camelx3 is 66.79

Ordered yesterday at Nile for 55.54 including postage
Received an email saying they have no stock (although their website shows stock at the higher price)

This one is 64 including postage
Hopefully not a price error like Niles, and they will honour this price

The miser in me doesnt want me to pay 64 for what could have been bought for 55.54

    now 65 plus postage
