Fuji Xerox DocuPrint M205b Multifunction B/W Laser Printer/Copier/Scanner $95.54

90

Fuji Xerox Docuprint M205b - multifunction ( printer / copier / scanner ) ( B/W ), good simple multifunction laser under $100 bucks.

Officeworks advertised this in the catalogue for $139 but price matched with HT for $90.76 after 5% discount which is cheaper than what I could find on Staticice.

High Yield toners for 2200 pages @ 5% yield cost $70 - $80 genuine but compatible toners can be found on Ebay for $20 shipped so quite good value but not sure how many pages they can yield. Search for CT201610.

Mod: Edited title to remove price match and make clear the actual price

  • I do not believe pricematching classes as a bargain

    • Whilst I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with you, what about all the 1000's of Officeworks deals that saturate OzBargain on a regular basis? They are the same.

      • yes. just cuz every1 is doing it doesnt make it right! link to the original deal. not a price matched deal

    • From the Deal Posting Guidelines http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…

Use the merchant you are price match against. For example:

Title: HP Laptop $500 at DickSmith ($475 at Officeworks via Price Match)
URL: URL of the product at DickSmith's website.

Mention that you are able to use price match at a competing merchant.
Remember to have a link to your receipt as a proof that (in this example) Officeworks do allow price matching on this product. Use media file uploader if you need to.

The OP just needs to update the Title

It was $84 @Officeworks almost a year ago (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/47213).. Not a bargain to me.

True, but is it cheaper anywhere else at the moment? This goes for the vanilla Brother mono-lasers too - they're not ~$40 anymore.

  • I take it this doesnt do double sided print and d-s-scan.?!

    • +1

      actually i personally own one~

it only do manual double sided print, i.e. u needa flip the pages over on ur own..
and sometime it might eat up two pages at the same time.. quite frustrating..
but after all, u get what you paid for~

not sure what u mean by d-s-scan tho.. it can continuously scan stuff and pack them all into one pdf.
and obviously it's one of those scanner that u needa lift the lid up, not the fax machine kinda style~
but that is good enough for me :)

  • Anyone knows how many pages can the included toner print? I bought a cannon printer recently and after printing out 5 pages, the status showed the cartridges are half full (#@!$).

    • some, if not most, new printers come with not-full cartridges

    • it says it comes with a standard yield toner which prints around 1500.
form my experiences, it prints around 800-1000 pages.
of coz, u can always tone down the printing quality to get a higher yield~~

    • Most printer only included initial toner but this printer included 1 x standard toner cartridge (1000 pages @ 5% coverage). it is written in the brochure

I'm looking for a mono laser MFC for my parents, however the toner on these looks expensive to me.

Is my Samsung SCX 4828FN now unusual in that it came with a "starter cartridge" of 1,000 pages and the "standard cartridge" costs $120 for 5,000 pages. This model would appear to be $140 for toner for 4,400 pages.

Also the 'cartridge' on mine includes the drum part so no need for the extra cost to periodically replace the drum……?? What is the deal with the drum on these?

Other key minimal features I look for are:- auto-duplex printing (as mentioned above) with booklet-print; built-in network card; and low power consumption on sleep - so I can have constant printing available without need for a lengthy start-up wait nor the added cost of higher 24x7 energy consumption.

  • great little MFD, i have the same one at home (from office works about a year ago for 88$ or something) …

i dont use it often, but it works without fail every time, i would highly recommend it if you want an entry level, black and white printer with copy / scan functionality

I would like to thank the OP for posting this. I have been on the look out for this exact printer for awhile and I haven't seen it this cheap since a year ago.

I made my purchase at OfficeWorks for $90.76 this morning.

With regards to if it is a bargain or not, it was cheaper a year ago, but that was a year ago. Unless you can find it cheaper anywhere else, this is a bargain (even if it is $6.76 more expensive then a year ago).
